SIA POV :
The world felt… softer.
Not weaker.
Just quieter.
Like a storm had passed and left the sky clear behind it.
Kai stood by my window, staring at the city like he didn't recognize it anymore — not because it had changed, but because he had.
"No guards," he said slowly. "No weapons.
No power."
I walked up beside him. "And yet you're still here."
He turned to me, eyes uncertain. "What if the Veil comes back?"
"Then we face it," I replied. "Together."
He studied my face like he was memorizing it — like he was afraid he might lose me again.
"I don't know how to live like this," he admitted. "Normal. Human."
I smiled gently. "Then I'll teach you."
The next days were strange.
Beautiful.
Real.
Kai learned how to exist without fear following him like a shadow.
He walked through markets.
Sat in cafés.
Listened to laughter without scanning for threats.
And every time he smiled — really smiled — something inside me healed.
But peace never comes without a test.
One evening, my brother came home pale.
"Sia," he said quietly, "there's… something you need to know."
Kai straightened instantly, instinct returning.
"What is it?" I asked.
"The city's underworld is collapsing," he said. "Power vacuums. Violence. Chaos."
Kai closed his eyes.
"This is my fault."
I grabbed his hand. "No. This is what happens when darkness loses its king."
He looked at me sharply. "And innocent people get hurt."
"I know," I whispered. "But you don't have to become a monster again to protect them."
"Then what do I do?"
"Be human," I said. "And still stand up."
That night, Kai walked into the chaos without a weapon.
Without fear.
Without power.
Just his name.
Just his presence.
The underworld recognized him.
Not as the Storm King.
But as the man who ended the Storm King.
And somehow… that was enough.
People stood down.
Deals ended.
Violence slowed.
Not because they feared him.
Because they respected him.
Because they believed in him.
And for the first time…
Kai led without blood.
When he came home, bruised but alive, I ran to him..
"You're crazy," I said, half crying, half laughing.
He pulled me into his arms. "Only because I love you."
I rested my forehead against his chest. "You saved the world without breaking it."
"No," he corrected softly. "We did."
That night, we stood on the balcony together.
The same place I once felt watched.
Now I felt… safe.
"Do you regret it?" I asked. "Losing everything?"
He looked at me, eyes steady. "I lost power. I gained my life back."
"And me?" I asked quietly.
He smiled — real, warm, human.
"I never lost you," he said. "I just had to become someone else to protect you long enough to come home."
Somewhere beyond our world, the Veil watched.
Not with anger.
Not with hunger.
With acceptance.
Because balance wasn't broken.
It was restored.
