Chapter 242 - Chapter 41: An Absurd "As Expected"

The Boggart is a very special magical creature.

It isn't as elegant as a Hippogriff, nor as mysterious as a Thunderbird; it isn't even as useful to wizards as a Demiguise.

The Boggart is an unwelcome, loathsome, and feared magical creature.

After all, who would like a creature that can see through their inner fears at any moment?

—No one wants to expose their greatest fear in front of everyone for them to snicker and gossip about.

Of course, this "no one" did not include Mori Tsukisa.

The girl chuckled to herself for a long while before gently setting down a pouting Arrietty, who felt a bit embarrassed, and approached the cabinet—speaking of embarrassment, Nagini had actually shown much more vulnerability than Arrietty.

She didn't think it was embarrassing at all.

"From now on, I am Master's Attendant, I am her maid." She looked at Arrietty in her palm and raised an eyebrow. Her black eyeliner made the already seductive, mature woman appear even more enchanting. "A maid cannot leave her Master."

"I don't think this is an embarrassing thing, little monster."

"I'm not a monster! I'm a sprite! A sprite! And don't you forget who spoke well of you to Her Majesty the Queen!" Arrietty stomped hard on Nagini's palm, as if that could cause her pain. "It was me! You should thank me! And don't you! Dare! Compete! With me!"

"That depends on who your Queen prefers to spend time with, doesn't it?" Nagini stared at her indifferently. "You don't know how to do anything. Cooking? Taking care of people? You have no situational awareness, and you probably can't even carry a suitcase, can you?"

"I can help Her Majesty the Queen sweep away all enemies in her path!"

"Anyone can do that, Arrietty." Although Nagini was smiling and her voice was gentle, Arrietty felt as though there were sharp things hidden within her words.

Ignoring the bickering of the two Attendants, Dumbledore stared intently at Mori Tsukisa's relaxed back. He very much wanted to know what this girl, who possessed a means of casting spells different from a wizard's, feared in her heart.

Dragons?

No, she had said she wanted a dragon.

Then... Devils? Darkness? Strange noises? Teachers? Or... loneliness?

The man tried his best to list things that girls aged fifteen to twenty-five... no, things that both Boys and girls would fear.

Then, Mori Tsukisa took her position.

A faint, sharp energy pierced through her brain. As it entered from her forehead, she could feel that this tentacle-like, elongated probe was very soft; yes.

Soft and sharp.

The magical field surrounding the Planeswalker and the high-level biological field of her non-human self were instantly activated!

Bang!!!

The silent ringing was very light, like a ripple gently washing through the woods.

Row after row of honest trees that had grown for years and had no grudge against Mori Tsukisa were sliced in half by the transparent ripple!

As if a thin and strong thread had passed through them.

Dumbledore pulled out his wand and cast Protego on himself and Nagini—it was useless; the bubble-like shield shattered with a "pop."

Then, the ripple quietly washed over their bodies.

It didn't cut them.

"I... I told you, you have to restrain those things of yours." Dumbledore's mouth moved. The palm holding his wand was no longer dry; a hint of greasiness soaked between his fingers.

This was the first time he had faced such a... seemingly powerful, non-human creature.

Who the hell was this girl? Merlin's illegitimate daughter?

That cheating old bastard!

"If I were to ask you to deal with Grin..."

After muttering a few words, Dumbledore gave up with a bitter smile. "Open your mind; it's just a magical creature, Sen. You can't expect it to be powerful enough to surpass us."

Mori Tsukisa tilted her head, tapping her temple with her index finger.

"I have a bad feeling..."

Arrietty clung to Nagini's finger, a faint sense of unease in her heart—Nagini had arrived late and didn't know everything that had happened to Mori Tsukisa. As an Attendant, she only had a general overview of what kind of creature a Planeswalker was.

Aminatu hadn't told her much either, except to tell her to "keep an eye on" Mori Tsukisa.

Then... "What bad feeling?" Nagini asked.

Dumbledore also looked over upon hearing this.

"Ah... it's just..." Arrietty swallowed. "Things that everyone has... Her Majesty the Queen might have a lot of them..."

Just as she spoke, the Boggart began to transform!

The mixed black and gray were chaotic, gradually stretching and thinning—Dumbledore was somewhat pleased, because if the other party feared humans, this weakness would be well worth investigating.

But if what she feared was...

F*ck...!

What the hell is this?!

The Boggart did stretch out, but it was also severed. It was like it had been sliced into several pieces by an invisible dinner knife, and then, each piece started to change—

Human shapes, flowers and trees, Planets, cats, violins, winged Angels, and pens appeared one by one before the few people;

The first to speak was the human-shaped lady.

"I am your Mama! Little Tsukisa!!"

Arrietty slapped her hand onto her face with a'smack'!

I! Knew! It!

As the first one spoke, the remaining objects also trembled and jumped restlessly, slowly closing in on Mori Tsukisa:

"I am your Mama too! I am, I am!" A small peach tree moved itself using its long roots.

"Me too! I contributed quite a bit!" The pitted Planet floated over.

"Have you forgotten me? I love you very much, Tsukisa. I am your mother!" The violin pulled its strings, and the flowing alto sound was melodious and gentle.

The Angel flapped its wings, tragically and solemnly declaring: "Mori Tsukisa, thou art my Child."

The little pen also shouted and screamed.

In short, they were all saying the same! Meaning! Words!

"It's Mama! We are your Mamas!"

"Hurry! Hurry! Come over here! Mama is here!"

"Oh, do you not like your birth mother?!"

"How comical! How comical!"

Bang.

The scene was instantly very awkward.

The Boggart, which had finally managed to get out for some air, was quickly sealed back into a damp, moldy, dark cabinet by the hateful wizard.

Mori Tsukisa covered her mouth and laughed for a long time, Arrietty rolled her eyes and muttered, and Nagini looked confused.

Dumbledore... Dumbledore cast a look of complete affection towards her.

Just like an old father.

"Cough." The large hand clenched into a fist and held it near his mouth as he coughed twice. Dumbledore cautiously began: "If... I mean, if."

"If something upsetting happened in your family, oh... regarding your father, men..."

"I think I can listen to you talk about it."

"Some bad things are better if you talk about them, girl."

Mori Tsukisa also started to feel confused.

"Huh?"

"Your... your father is very charming, isn't he?" Dumbledore hesitantly squeezed out half a sentence between his teeth: "Adult matters, nothing to do with the Child..."

A look of pity enveloped the girl.

Heavens, there was even a pen among them!

What did this girl's father do to the pen?!
