Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Everything began in the Hero Society.

The birth of a so-called "luminous baby" swept across the world like a storm. From that moment on, incidents involving supernaturally gifted newborns began appearing one after another, spreading across every nation.

No one ever discovered the true cause.

Time continued to pass.

And gradually, what was once called "supernatural" became "ordinary."

What had once existed only in stories became reality.

Now, nearly eighty percent of the world's population possessed some form of superhuman physique—abilities collectively known as Quirks.

This was the age of superpowers.

And in this era, as the world struggled to adapt to the transition from "extraordinary" to "everyday," a profession long admired in fantasy finally stepped onto the real stage of history.

A profession once born of dreams—

Heroes.

Shizuoka City General Hospital — Morning

"Ten days have passed since the Nanase Plaza incident, yet the tragedy still weighs heavily on the public's mind. Seventy-nine confirmed dead, eighty-five severely injured, including six professional Heroes killed and thirteen seriously wounded. These horrifying numbers continue to haunt the nation. This marks the most devastating villain attack since the infamous 'H Incident' six years ago, and it raises serious concerns about whether—"

Click.

The television shut off abruptly, cutting off the reporter mid-sentence.

"Don't listen to that nonsense," a woman said sharply as she lowered the remote. "Those irresponsible media outlets don't know what they're talking about. Your parents were real Heroes."

Lying on the hospital bed, Amano Sora forced a weak smile.

"I know, Aunt… I believe in them."

The woman—Takeyama Yu, known publicly as the Pro Hero Mt. Lady—hesitated when she saw the expression on his face. Her chest tightened as memories of her sister and brother-in-law surfaced.

They were her only family.

"Sora, you…" she began, but before she could finish, a distant explosion thundered outside the hospital.

At the same time, her communicator let out a sharp alert.

Beep—Beep—

Her expression changed instantly. She glanced at Sora.

"Go," he said quietly, forcing a smile. "I'll be fine."

Takeyama Yu clenched her fist, then nodded. "I'll come back this afternoon to get you discharged."

With that, she hurried out of the room.

From the bed, Sora watched her figure disappear down the hallway. Confusion flickered through his eyes.

"Heroes…" he murmured.

His aunt was one.

So were his parents.

Or rather… they had been.

Ten days ago, during the tragedy at Nanase Plaza, his family had been caught in a villain attack. Without hesitation, his parents rushed forward to protect civilians.

They never came back.

Sora himself had been critically injured in the chaos. His body survived.

But his mind…

No.

That version of him had died.

The person lying in this hospital bed now was someone else entirely.

A soul from another world.

A man who had crossed over after death and awakened inside this body, inheriting all of its memories.

He was Amano Sora—but also not.

Emotionally, he didn't share the crushing grief of the boy who had lost his parents. The sorrow felt distant, like a memory viewed through glass. His forced smile was not grief—it was confusion.

Because this world…

He recognized it.

"My Hero Academia…" he whispered, lowering his gaze.

He had seen it before—through screens, through stories, through another life entirely.

Back then, he had joked about transmigration, about becoming a god after being reborn into a fantasy world.

But fantasies were cheap.

Reality was heavy.

And when he truly arrived here, he almost broke.

Still, Sora had always been resilient. Ten days had passed since his awakening, and he had forced himself to accept the truth.

"If I'm here, then this is reality," he muttered. "Running away won't change that."

He turned to the window. Blue skies. White clouds.

Somewhere in the distance, faint echoes of the explosion still lingered—the same direction his aunt had rushed off toward.

"Villains…" he murmured.

He wasn't worried about Takeyama Yu.

After all, he knew her.

He had seen her before—in anime, in stories. Mt. Lady wasn't supposed to die here. Not before All For One's downfall, at least.

Which meant…

"The timeline…" he whispered.

His memories aligned. Mt. Lady had debuted less than a year ago. The sludge villain incident was nine months away.

Which meant—

"All Might will pass One For All to Midoriya Izuku soon."

Sora frowned.

In this world, nearly eighty percent of humanity possessed Quirks.

And he was among the remaining twenty percent.

Quirkless.

Just like Izuku.

There were only two known ways to gain power without being born with it.

One For All.

All For One.

The former was already destined for someone else.

The latter… was something Sora wanted no part of.

"So… am I really going to live as a Quirkless person?" he muttered.

Objectively speaking, being Quirkless wasn't the end. Sixty percent of the population had weak or nearly useless abilities. With effort, one could still live well.

But in a world of superpowers…

Who wouldn't want one?

Sora clenched his fists.

"Do I seriously have to wait for some kind of cheat to drop on my head?" he laughed bitterly.

And then—

CRACK!

Golden lightning tore through the air.

A bolt of radiant energy smashed through the window and struck him directly in the chest.

The sky roared.

Cars screeched to a halt outside. People screamed. Nurses rushed through corridors in panic.

But inside the hospital room—

Nothing was damaged.

No scorch marks.

No broken glass.

Only Sora lay frozen on the bed, eyes wide, staring at his hands in disbelief.

The lightning hadn't hurt him.

It had entered him.

A strange sensation surged through his body—light, speed, power beyond comprehension.

A name surfaced in his mind.

Speed Force.

The source of all speed.

A force beyond physics.

A power he recognized instantly.

"…You've got to be kidding me."

His breath trembled as memories from another life flooded in—scarlet lightning, time travel, worlds rewritten through motion alone.

"This isn't just a Quirk…"

His lips curled into a stunned smile.

"This is the Speed Force."

Compared to this, Quirks were nothing.

Heroes were nothing.

Reality itself felt flimsy.

And for the first time since waking up in this world—

Amano Sora laughed.
