Chapter 13 - THE TEAMWORK GIVE US VICTORY

The air felt unnaturally heavy, as if even the battlefield was holding its breath.

Dust drifted across the shattered ground. Smoke darkened the sky, curling upward from the remains of earlier attacks. The silence wasn't peace — it was tension. The fight wasn't over. If anything, it was just reaching its most dangerous point.

Somewhere in that haze, the clone of Renzo was coming.

Ryso stood beside us, calm as ever. His eyes were steady, but I could see the calculations running behind them — outcomes measured, risks weighed, sacrifices already accepted.

"Here's the plan," he said evenly. "One of us draws his attention. The other two strike from behind."

His voice never wavered.

"I'll take the front. You two finish him."

Before we could respond, he stepped forward.

There was something about his confidence — not arrogance, not recklessness. Certainty. It steadied us.

Renzo stood ahead, surrounded by dozens of identical versions of himself. They radiated heat. Power shimmered in waves around them, distorting the air like a desert mirage.

Ryso stopped several paces away. Wind curled subtly around him, responding to his presence.

"Do you really believe your clones can kill us?" he called out.

Renzo smiled.

"I think they can," he replied. "It may be difficult for my clones… but not for Quark's."

Excitement flickered in his eyes.

Then everything ignited.

He distributed his fire quark to every clone. Flames erupted across the battlefield. The air burned. The ground cracked beneath the surge of heat.

And they all came for me.

Dozens of Renzo's copies attacked at once.

Fire from every direction. Blinding heat. Explosions tearing at the earth.

I moved.

Dodge. Block. Counter. Shift.

Faster than they anticipated.

I wasn't trying to defeat them — not yet. I was buying time. Pulling Renzo's focus onto me. Giving my friend the opening he needed.

Through the chaos, I saw him strike — cutting down the Renzo who had given the order.

For a split second, hope sparked.

Then every remaining clone spoke at once.

"That strategy will not work against me."

Their voices overlapped into a single chilling echo.

"I will kill all of you."

The temperature spiked. Their power intensified. The battlefield trembled beneath their combined energy.

This wasn't a fight anymore.

It was war.

I turned to Zeno. "Teleport me to him."

He nodded immediately, already channeling the spell.

Then to Akira: "Freeze all of them."

Akira inhaled slowly, gathering icy energy between his hands. Frost began spreading from his feet outward.

"Not all at once," he said calmly. "But I can do it in two."

Cold air surged forward, colliding violently with the sea of flames. Steam exploded upward where frost met fire.

Zeno teleported us to higher ground.

From above, Akira unleashed his first wave.

Fifty clones froze instantly — trapped mid-motion, encased in thick ice. They stood like statues, cracks webbing through their frozen forms.

We were teleported back down.

Ryso stepped forward.

"Wind Magic — Death of the Tornado!"

The tornado roared into existence, a violent spiral of compressed air. It tore through the frozen clones. Ice shattered. Heads separated cleanly. Fragments of frozen fire scattered across the battlefield like crystal shards.

Even Renzo's expression shifted.

But we weren't done.

Again, Zeno teleported us upward. Again, Akira unleashed his freezing wave.

Forty-eight more clones became monuments of ice.

Back to the ground.

"Wind Magic — Death of the Tornado!"

The storm answered.

When the wind settled, nothing remained.

The sky lightened slightly as the last of the clones fell. Smoke thinned. The battlefield felt… emptier.

For the first time, Renzo looked uncertain.

But he wasn't finished.

He moved.

Without his quark power — drained into his destroyed clones — he relied solely on physical strength.

It was still terrifying.

He moved like lightning, leaving afterimages in his wake. The ground fractured beneath each step.

Akira lunged, attempting to freeze him again. Renzo evaded at the last possible moment.

But that was the mistake.

As he avoided Akira's strike, I attacked from the opposite angle.

A double assault.

Wind pressure detonated outward.

"Death Tornado."

The air compressed around him like invisible walls. The force crushed inward, trapping him in place. His body trembled. The ground beneath him cratered.

When the wind finally faded—

He couldn't move.

Silence followed.

Thick. Heavy. Final.

Smoke drifted away. The broken battlefield told the story of everything that had happened — scorched earth, shattered ice, carved stone.

Renzo lay defeated.

The clones were gone.

The fire quark had vanished.

Only a cold wind remained, brushing gently across the ruins as if the storm had never existed.

We stood there, breathing hard.

This victory hadn't come from power alone.

It came from trust. Strategy. Timing.

Teamwork.

We survived.

And somehow… it felt like this was only the beginning.
