Chapter 78 - Cosmic Pursuit Squad...

In the cold, silent expanse of space, a sleek starship cut through the void. Inside, seven humanoid figures manned the controls. Two were short, wizened, and bore a striking resemblance to the fugitive Dr. Rocco. The other five were towering, their physiques rippling with synthetic muscle, their movements precise and powerful. An occasional faint electronic pulse behind their eyes betrayed their true nature: each was an advanced android.

"Rittsuo, any sign of Rocco's signature?" one of the short aliens—Jacket—asked his companion, who was hunched over a console, sweeping a long-range biosignature scanner across star charts.

"Patience, Jacket. Impatience generates heat, and heat is wasted energy," Rittsuo replied without looking up. "No matching life-signs in this sector either. We'll move to the next grid point."

"You don't think that maniac actually invented a bio-dampening field, do you? To hide from us?"

"With his intellect? It's a distinct possibility."

"We can't let him roam free. If we don't bring him in, who knows how many more worlds will suffer his… 'experiments'?"

Beep-beep-beep—

A sharp alert chimed from the console. Both aliens snapped their attention to the screen. A blinking indicator pulsed with a distinct energy signature.

"It's an android signature… frequency modulation matches our homeworld's military units," Rittsuo said, his voice tight with excitement. "It has to be one of Rocco's builds. Triangulate the source. Now!"

"The signal is originating from a nearby star system… a mid-tier planet designated… Earth." Rittsuo's hands trembled slightly as he read the data.

"Dr. Rocco… three long years," Jacket murmured, his expression hardening. "We've finally found you, exile. Time to answer for your crimes." He turned to the five silent androids standing at attention. "Jacket to Cosmic Pursuit Squad! Set course for planet Earth. Maximum sub-light speed. This time, he does not escape!"

"Acknowledged."

The starship banked sharply, its engines flaring as it carved a new trajectory through the cosmos, homing in on the distant blue world.

---

Deep within an underground laboratory on that very planet, Dr. Rocco watched a corresponding alarm blink on his own console. A wide, wicked grin split his wrinkled face.

"So… the hounds have finally picked up the scent. I've been waiting. This time, I won't be the one running like a whipped dog." His beady eyes flicked to a monitor showing the havoc his Androids 11 and 12 were wreaking on the surface. "Come and meet my new… super warriors."

---

Moments later, a vessel of unfamiliar, advanced design materialized silently in the sky above the smoldering Earth city. Its lines were sleek, its technology visibly generations ahead of even Capsule Corporation's finest. Had Son Goku seen it, he would have been stunned by its implied speed and capabilities.

"The rogue android signals are emanating from those two units engaging in unauthorized destruction below," Rittsuo stated, his face a mask of disgust as he viewed the carnage on the main screen. "Such wanton brutality… that is Rocco's signature, without a doubt. Cosmic Pursuit Squad, deploy. Mission priority: capture both rogue units intact for interrogation and disposal."

"Acknowledged."

The main hatch of the starship irised open. Without a sound, the five towering B-Type androids stepped into the void and dropped like silent, polished stones toward the ruined streets below.

Beep-beep-beep—

Down in the carnage, internal alarms shrilled within Android 11 and 12. They ceased their activities and looked up simultaneously.

"Signature analysis complete," Android 11 stated flatly. "The signal matches the androids dispatched by the Homeworld Council to hunt Dr. Rocco."

The five pursuers landed in a perfect semi-circle around them, their impact cracking the asphalt. They moved with unsettling synchronization.

"I am B-Type Model 1."

"B-Type Model 2."

"B-Type Model 3."

"B-Type Model 4."

"B-Type Model 5."

They spoke in a chilling, unified chorus. "We are the Cosmic Pursuit Squad. By the authority of Inspector Rittsuo, you are ordered to cease all activity, deactivate your combat systems, and surrender for transport back to Homeworld for judgment."

"Annoying pieces of scrap metal," Android 11 sneered, a flash of something like irritation crossing his artificial face. "12, stand down. I'll handle the cleanup."

He took a step forward. "Well? Are you coming, or do I have to come get you?"

"Resistance noted. Authorization for non-lethal force granted." B-Type 1's head tilted slightly. "Model 5. Engage."

B-Type 5 nodded, its joints emitting a soft hydraulic hiss. "I will be your opponent."

Android 11 grinned. "You look marginally more durable than the locals. Let's play."

He vanished in a blur of motion, appearing behind B-Type 5 with intent to strike the neck joint. But the pursuit android seemed to anticipate it. It didn't turn. Instead, its leg shot backward in a perfect, piston-driven kick.

WHAM!

The heavy metal boot connected squarely with Android 11's face. The impact sent the rogue unit hurtling backward, crashing through the skeletal remains of two buildings before skidding to a stop in a cloud of dust and debris.

Android 11 pushed himself up from the rubble. A trickle of synthetic blood—or its equivalent—dripped from a split in his lip. His eyes, however, burned with a feral, electronic light. "Predictive combat algorithms… just like the data files said. Time to stop playing around."

He let out a guttural roar that was more actuator strain than biological. His ki erupted violently. His previously scrawny frame visibly expanded, muscles swelling with power as his systems entered a high-output combat mode.

"Incredible power spike!" B-Type 2 exclaimed, its retinal HUD flashing with rapidly climbing numbers.

"Impossible… that energy reading… it surpasses our design parameters by a factor of five!" On the ship, Rittsuo and Jacket stared at the sensor data in disbelief.

"Now for the main event," Android 11 smirked.

He moved. This time, there was no blur—just an instantaneous shift in position. He appeared beside B-Type 5, his fist already in motion. It was a short, devastating punch, devoid of flourish.

CRUNCH-BOOM!

The punch connected with B-Type 5's head. The impact didn't just knock it down; it drove the android's skull into its torso, crushing the internal chassis. The unit cratered into the street, sparks dancing from its shattered frame, the light in its eyes flickering and dying. One hit. One kill.

Android 11 turned his gaze to the remaining four. "Next."

He flickered again. Punch. Punch. Punch. Punch.

Four precise, economy-of-motion strikes. Four towering B-Type androids were hurled away like discarded toys, slamming into buildings and the ground, their systems terminally compromised.

"H-how…? They were our planet's elite combat models…" Jacket stammered, his face pale on the viewscreen.

"Jacket! Stop gawking! Initiate emergency evacuation protocol—NOW!" Rittsuo screamed, his hands flying over the console.

He slammed the thrusters to full reverse. But it was too late. A beam of concentrated energy, fired from Android 11's still-outstretched hand, lanced up from the planet's surface.

It pierced the starship's hull with the ease of a needle through paper.

For a moment, the ship hung silently in the sky. Then, it blossomed into a silent, expanding sphere of fire and fragments, a brief, false sun that illuminated the smoke-shrouded city below before fading into nothing.
