Chapter 10 - One week at Orario

The next day.

Morning.

Adventurer's Guild.

Reception room.

"Did you get all of what I said?"

Miss Eina, who is wearing her usual guild uniform, sat in front of me with a table between us, asked.

"Yes! I have remembered it." I replied.

Waking up in the morning, having eaten my breakfast. I left for the adventurer's guild early.

Miss Eina is lecturing me in a private room. About the dungeon.

I never expected that after growing up, I would still have to take lessons.

Guess you never know what life has in store.

While sighing at the unpredictability of life, I started to pick up my equipment and left the room with Miss Eina.

Walking through the corridor leading to the guild's headquarters - photos of gods and famous adventurers hang on the walls on both sides.

I said to Miss Eina:

"Thank you Miss Eina. I've learned many things I don't know about the dungeon."

While walking in front of me,

She tucks a stray strand of hair behind her ear, turning her head back slightly, and she replied with a soft smile.

"You don't have to thank me, this is my job"

Sunlight passed through tinted glass and shone upon her.

Suddenly, as if the world brightened up and became silent. Some kind of music started in the background, and my whole attention focused on her.

Which god is playing tricks on me?

And where did that music come from. I don't have time for this crap

To break the curse known as love, I started to beat my chest loudly.

Stay stable, dude. Don't get excited! I don't have time for this crap!!!

Background music starts to fade away as if it had lost its motion. .

"Are you okay? Kael? Did you plan to take a break today? "

Miss Eina asked with worry, yet her eyes looked at me as if she was checking that I had some mental illnesses.

Her question seemed to pass through me like arrows.

"I'm fine! I will be heading off, and thank you for taking care of me."

After bowing my head slightly in gratitude, I practically dash off to the dungeon.

My ears were red from embarrassment.

Damn, that was dangerous, I almost fell for it.

———

I was already at second floor. During my descent from dungeon floor one to floor two, I encountered a few goblins and a duo of kobolds.

Using them, I start to adapt to my growing stats.

I don't waste much time on floor one. After defeating them, I quickly descend to floor two.

Yesterday, because my small backpack was full. I have to head back to the surface.

But today I will spend more time on floor two.

Only a few minutes have passed since I descended to floor 2.

When I encounter four goblins, with one holding a club, two empty-handed and one holding a dagger.

They practically dash towards me upon seeing me.

I also started running to gain momentum.

I dodge the first two goblins by side-stepping in a zig-zag line. Crouching down to dodge the club smashing at me horizontally.

"Ughhh!"

I split his head with reverse-grip as I passed by him.

My eyes were always locked on the last goblin holding a dagger.

Two goblins who attacked me at the beginning also turned around and started to run back.

Their faces filled with anger at being toyed with.

Without losing momentum, I suddenly increase my speed and attack the goblin holding a dagger with a diagonal Slash.

Swish.

My sword cutting air and slices the completely surprised goblin. His eyes widened in shock.

Then, silver light drew a line from his left neck to his right waist, alongside his hands.

Without even having time to cry out in pain, his body collapsed in smoke.

I don't stop and continue to run toward the wall.

Two goblins, who are still alive continue to chase me.

Stepping on the wall in two steps with my momentum, I jumped backwards.

In the air my body was upside-down, reaching above their heads.

My sword flashes in silver light as their necks slip from their body.

Their mouth still open in shock, their face perplexed.

It was then.

—Suddenly, I notice a shadow on the wall in mid-air.

Colour drains from my face.

Damn it. If 'it' attacks me in the mid-air I'm done for

Fortunately, I was able to land on the ground before he attacked me.

I was waiting for you.

A monster that looked like a lizard jumped at me from above.

I don't stop, using momentum. I roll backwards and dodge his attack.

The lizard attacked the place I just landed.

After his attack miss, he doesn't stop but runs towards the walls to once again hide in his shadow.

Like hell I will let you go!

Before I can stabilise my stance, I jump on his back.

Harnessing the momentum of my fall, I drive my blade into his chest, through his back.

"Ughhh!"

His limbs twitched as he struggled, he turned his head back and bit toward my throat.

Not happening!.

Unsheathing a dagger on my thigh with reverse-grip, I drive through his head and pin him down on the floor.

Woosh.

The lizard's body vanished in black smoke, leaving behind lizard scales and a magic stone.

Haa. Haa. Haa

Taking a deep breath to regain my composurere, I lie on the dungeon floor for a moment …

That was! That was too exciting.

Get up, start to pick up the monster's loot and magic stone.

Dungeon lizard, a monster that like the kobolds, likes to climb to the Dungeon's walls and ambush adventurers.

But unlike kobolds, who like to stay in packs, dungeon lizards basically cling to the wall to wait for adventurers to ambush.

And once missed.

They will completely vanish in the darkness, then attack you in surprise the moment you relax.

They are completely a pain in the ass.

But still. For a newbie like me, who goes solo. It's quite good to be able to fight like this.

———

West Main Street district.

The abandoned church.

Hestia Familia base.

A hidden room in the underground basement of the church.

"…. Mmnm"

The place we stay is underground, so basically there is no sunlight shining on my face or waking up with the farmhouse alarm clock - crowing of roosters.

But my biological clock for waking up, with sunrises in the morning and going for a part-time job is quite good

What is on top of my body?

It's heavier than a blanket, but it's also light enough not to make my breathing difficult.

Reaching my hand towards it, I found it quite soft, smooth and round.

Wait! Soft, smooth and round?

Snapping my eyes open, I found Lady Hestia sleeping on top of me.

Her head rested on my chest, and her hands and feet wrapped around my body like an octopus.

I froze, my cheeks started to heat up.

All of my sleepiness is gone.

Go-goddess Hestia?

When did she sleep on my chest?

Did she sleepwalk?

No right now I have to get out of here before she wakes up.

But I also don't want to leave.

This is unfair! How can such a Supreme human body pillow exist in the world!!!

No I can't take advantage of her when she is asleep.

Freeing her hands and feet warping around my body with some difficulty.

I barely left the sofa.

Placing her on the sofa, I wrapped the blanket that had fallen below her body.

I hesitated, but still bent down to kiss her forehead.

"Good morning, Lady Hestia. I will be leaving for the dungeon."

Taking my equipment in my hand, I rushed outside the church.

———

Focus Kael! You can't think along that line.

In order clear my thoughts I began to distract myself.

That's right my sword.

Taking out my sword that has been used a few times. I began to admire it.

Oh! The sharpness.

Oh! The edges.

Oh! The curves.

Oh! The softness.

Oh! The roundness.

!!!!

No no no no. No softness, it's hard, yes, hard. Hard and straight. thick and black

No, no, no, no, what the hell am I even thinking!!!!!

Taking a deep breath and letting go,

I forcefully sifted my thoughts.

I can't believe this place was once a place of worship for a goddess.

Standing in front of the abandoned church, I looked at the broken statue of the goddess.

Her face above her nose was gone, and various parts ofher bodywere missing.

Walls are falling apart and weeds are growing everywhere

Wearing my armour, sheathing the sword at my waist with a backpack on my back.

I began to walk towards the dungeon.

It's been a week since I came to Orario.

During this week, I have improved from a complete rookie to a proper adventurer

Although I am still a level 1 weakling.

I have pretty much explored most of floor 2, but neither Miss Eina nor Lady Hestia let me go to floor 3.

Floor 3 is also where the death rate of new adventurers starts to skyrocket.

In the end, I honestly stay in floor 2.

But know I should be strong enough to go to floor 3.

Thinking like this, I began to towards the dungeon.
