Nan Rouchu marches towards Gu Chenyu's office his assistant Zu was at the door. "Miss Nan Rouchu president Lu is busy right now" said Chen Zeyan blocking her path. "Move aside Zeyan I need to speak to Chenyu , I thought you were on my side it's a matter of life and death" said Nan Rouchu, Chen Zeyan sighs and lets her pass. Nan Rouchu storms into Gu Chenyu's office looking at him he stops writing and looks at her then he looks down at the documents.
"Chenyu we need to talk it's about Lin Meiyin" said Nan Rouchu. Gu Chenyu says nothing "Chenyu, Lin Meiyin is a scheming witch you should divorce her immediately, Gu Chenyu she's going to kill you have you heard about her dirty deals she has a poor mental state she takes drugs and she's obsessed with her sister's husband she's only using you as a substitute Gu Chenyu why can't you see that!!" Nan Rouchu yelled. Gu Chenyu ignores her "Chenyu stop acting like you can't hear me, are you under her spell, Gu Chenyu I love you I don't want you to get hurt okay, Lin Meiyin is going to break your heart, she's still after your brother Gu Zihan she's a gold digger stay away from her!!!
"Enough!!!" Gu Chenyu growls grinding his teeth as he slams the table. Nan Rouchu jolts and she was scared seeing his angry expression she decided to stand her ground.
"Gu Chenyu I swear Lin Meiyin is no good you should get rid of her I don't-
"Get out" he said looking at her.
"Gu Chenyu I won't leave until I convince you " said Nan Rouchu.
"The next time I hear you spew garbage about Lin Meiyin I won't care about our little friendship get out now or I'll use force" said Gu Chenyu his voice was like knives she felt his anger and killing intent.
"Lin Meiyin doesn't love you Gu Chenyu she's dirty, I won't stop until my very last breath I'm doing this to protect you I don't want you getting hurt " said Nan Rouchu walking away.
Gu Chenyu's face was cold and he continues doing his work.
Lin Meiyin had her dinner and dosed off on the couch. Gu Chenyu comes in and Aunt Chu greets him. "Good evening Master Lu" she said. Gu Chenyu nods and scans the room. "Where's Lin Meiyin?" He asked.
"She's in the living room fast asleep, she looks very tired" said Aunt Chu.
Gu Chenyu marches to the living room and he sees Lin Meiyin fast asleep on the couch she looked so innocent. Gu Chenyu carries her upstairs to her room and then he places her on the bed. Lin Meiyin starts muttering somethings to herself again, Gu Chenyu strokes her hair and smiles,he covers her with a blanket and goes downstairs to have dinner. He goes to his study and sits down drinking liquor he remembers those words Lin Meiyin doesn't love you she's obsessed with her sister's husband. And yesterday when Nan Rouchu asked her that question do you love Chenyu ?" She didn't answer. He massages his head he really didn't want her to leave, she was his comfort pillow the only one who saw him straight to his inner self but she didn't love him, that was what hurt him the most it was the bitter truth he wanted to know so badly what he meant to her.
Lin Meiyin was supposed to be his and he let that scheming brother get into her head, and take his place in her heart.
The next morning
Lin Meiyin woke up finding herself on the bed and she goes to the bathroom and freshens up. Lin Meiyin comes down for breakfast and then sees Gu Chenyu having breakfast she goes to meet him. "Good morning " she greets he nods and looks at her. Lin Meiyin sits down and starts eating when her phone rings it was that same number that called her the day before she answers.
"Hello Meiyin dear is that you?" came her father's voice. Lin Meiyin's face turns ashen
"What do you want?" Lin Meiyin asked. Gu Chenyu stopped eating and looked at her seeing that her face was not good and she had clentches her fists digging her nails into her flesh. Lin Zhong laughs "Meiyin we're not enemies now are we, daddy misses you and he wants you to come spend some time with him today, Dad makes some mistakes and promises he'll be a better Dad" he said. Lin Meiyin sighs "Really" she sneered "Of course I'll make your favorite dishes, It just me and you spending some quality time together I want to make up for the past I hope Mr Gu wouldn't mind" he said. Lin Meiyin looks at Gu Chenyu who was also looking back at her, he holds her hand to stop her from pinching herself.
"By the way how's Mr Gu you can say hello for me he can come too I hope he wouldn't reject me he can come if he's not busy" said Lin Zhong.
"Okay father" said Lin Meiyin hanging up her face was not looking good at all.
"He has never changed" she said to him,
"Don't think about it, how about I come with you" said Gu Chenyu.
"No I'm ashamed, I think your men made him hit his head too hard he must have lost it" said Lin Meiyin with a sigh.
"If anything happens call me" he said.
Lin Meiyin withdraws her hand and she sighed again shaking her head "I don't want to bother you, you're a busy man I can handle it " said Lin Meiyin.
"Okay but at least just go with a few guards I don't mind making him kontow again" said Gu Chenyu. Lin Meiyin chuckles "You have a funny sense of humor " she said to him. Gu Chenyu stands up and ruffles her hair again and leaves.
Lin Meiyin continues eating her breakfast and then after a while she goes to the music foundation with the two bodyguards Gu Chenyu assigned to follow her. Lin Meiyin decided to do something she had never done in a long time to ease her stress she went to the orphanage park and sat down children gathered around her, she sat down playing for them looking at their happy faces. Gu Chenyu had told the two guards Jiang Mingxuan and Mo An to report Lin Meiyin's whereabouts to him, so Jiang Mingxuan had recorded this scene and sent it to Gu Chenyu who was looking at some files in the office, his phone beeps and it was a short video on WeChat Gu Chenyu watches the video and sees Lin Meiyin playing so sweetly in the mist of children she looked happy and she was playing so passionately.
Lin Meiyin felt at ease and it was late noon and she goes to the Lin mansion.
She goes into the garden and sees her father he smiles and goes to hug her, but she backed away, his hand stopped midway and he keeps his hands to himself. She sits down, Lin Zhong smiles thinking of what to say he serves her some of her favorite dishes. "Come dear eat you are way too thin" he said stuffing more food on her plate. "Dad get to the point" said Lin Meiyin to him.
"Lin Meiyin why didn't you tell me you were married" said Lin Zhong about to touch her but she withdraws her hand.
"Meiyin you know Dad has some problems with the company I don't know if your husband would love to borrow me some money, it's not much I just need forty million yuan" he said with a smile.
Lin Meiyin's facial expression changes she felt like hitting him.
"I heard he's stinking rich so forty million isn't much for him, Meiyin why don't you help daddy" said Lin Zhong.
"Daddy, Gu Chenyu and I aren't that close" said Lin Meiyin.
"What aren't you married? you're his wife he'll listen to you, you know men think with their lower body, just put on a nice dress and prepare dinner I'm sure you'll get it " said Lin Zhong laughing. Lin Meiyin was seething with anger, she stands up " How dare you tell me that!! You haven't changed one bit" said Lin Meiyin getting angry.
" Lin Meiyin you can't bear to see me suffer right I'm your father after all, I need that money can you get it in a weeks time" said Lin Zhong trying to coax her.
"I gave birth to you after all " he adds.
"You're the worst father one could ever have " said Lin Meiyin, standing up and leaving. Her father holds her hand "Where are you going i wasted a lot of money just to prepare this meal and now you're leaving " said Lin Zhong. Lin Meiyin nods "Oh I understand " she said with red eyes she opens her purse and brings out a few cash she shoves it in his pocket and walks away.
