Chapter 7 - Copper!

Xu Xiong raised two fingers and a stream of dark blue Qi rushed out.

"So this is water Qi?" Xu Xiong mused as he played around with it.

The Black Water Sect, as the name suggests, cultivates water and darkness attributes.

Out of all the attributes, darkness is the least used attribute in the world.

Why?

Because all Fallen Birds are tainted with the darkness attribute, so almost all cultivators use the light attribute.

But the problem with the light attribute is that it's mostly used for healing spells, and has no practical use for combat, so people tainted their weapons with the light attribute to do more damage to Fallen Birds.

Therefore, for now, Xu Xiong didn't mind cultivating the darkness attribute.

And who to say that the darkness attribute cannot deal with Fallen Birds? It's just much more difficult.

Another benefit is that the darkness attribute is more focused on killing while the water attribute is focused on defense, so there is a two and one combo going on.

With high defense and strong attacking capabilities, the only thing he is lacking is speed!

With a flick of his fingers, Xu Xiong shot out that Qi from his fingers and into a rock, completely slicing it in half.

"Roughly five percent of my total Qi, and that's just in the first stage." Xu Xiong nodded in satisfaction.

If it was someone with only 70% purity, they'd only destroy the surface of the rock, not actually cutting it.

That just shows how much a perfect foundation is!

Therefore Xu Xiong is very happy that he didn't break through three weeks ago, and waited for this day.

"Now it's time to look around Ashen Village." Xu Xiong muttered, and his head turned to face the village.

Knowing that there is danger there, he wouldn't march straight in, but look around the south side of the village where no villagers dare to go.

Well, that's what he assumed based on one guy's walking pattern.

With that set in mind, he started to move from the west side of the village to the south side.

The south side was filled with stones and pebbles, making it very tricky to navigate without making a sound.

Luckily since Xu Xiong can now use Qi for himself, he can dull out the sound of his footsteps as he moves through the village.

"Such destruction… This wasn't done by one person." Xu Xiong frowned and entered some tumbled over black stone houses.

Black stone in itself is extremely heavy, weighing roughly 500 pounds.

When a house is being built, ten guys come over and help out and set up the building so it doesn't tumble over and can survive harsh winds.

Another reason for using black stone is because it absorbs heat, keeping the house nice and cool. It can also block out rain, which is the most important part.

Stepping into one of the houses, Xu Xiong looked around and could only find a munch of useless black wood, as the other wood would've been burnt because of the rain, and a few pieces of cloth.

"Hmm?"

Xu Xiong frowned, and looked up in the air and sniffed.

"Copper?"

Xu Xiong followed the scent of his nose and found a piece of clothing that was buried under a bunch of rubble.

Grabbing the clothes, he shifted through it until he heard a metallic bang noise.

Looking at the orange-reddish coin in front of him caused his breath to stagnate a bit.

"Truly is copper! But how could copper appear in this run down village?"

Copper is a precious resource for Fallen Birds, and would kill their own kind for it.

Fallen Birds have the same instincts as birds, and will travel in packs when they have little consciousness, but once they smell copper, all hell breaks loose and it's everyone's game.

Xu Xiong took out a thick black cloth from his bag and covered the copper coin.

If he took this back to the sect, he'd have enough points to redeem that body building technique he thought of when he was hesitating to break through.

But who would've thought the need of money was solved in this village.

Suddenly, Xu Xiong heard some footsteps from afar and jumped up on the ceiling in the building and hid himself right above the door.

If anyone dared to come in, he'd kill them immediately.

A couple of minutes have passed, and the footsteps were getting louder and louder as the time went by.

Xu Xiong's heart quickened, and suddenly the footsteps stopped.

'Hmm?' Xu Xiong was confused.

'Why did the footsteps stop?' He wondered, but then his sixth sense tingled like crazy, causing him to fall off the roof and raise his arm at the small needle heading towards his direction.

Covering his right arm with Qi, creating a bit of armour, the needle made a thud noise as it made impact with his Qi.

Xu Xiong's eyes focused, and looked up 45% degrees to see a small crack with human eyes looking at him.

Without any hesitation, he shot a stream of Qi at the eye, and darted out of the building and jumped up on the actual roof.

The stream of Qi that Xu Xiong flung at the man manage to hit, causing him to scream in pain, but before he could react, Xu Xiong appeared behind the man and knocked him unconscious and tilted the man's head back so no blood from his eyes split on the ground.

With that done, he covered the man's eye with some bandage he had on him, and took his body and dashed away from the village.

Xu Xiong wasn't sure if anyone heard the man's cry when the stream of Qi hit his eye, but Xu Xiong managed to silence him in time before his scream for help happened.

As Xu Xiong dashed away, he didn't go back to his base, but went to a nearby cave he remembered.

He didn't dare to take this man back to his base.

For one, he had copper on him which could attract Fallen Birds.

Two, how the hell this guy found him was beyond Xu Xiong's understanding.

He thought he perfectly covered his traces, but yet an ordinary villager managed to spot him?

No wonder the system said that this village is strange and dangerous.
