Chapter 107 - Chapter 107

At the K-street food restaurant, Kei was busy in the kitchen. She wasn't just checking on the staff, she was cooking a special lunch box herself. She made a large portion of crispy, golden karaage (fried chicken), just the way Fay liked it. She packed it neatly and drove straight to Sterling Hospital.

When Kei arrived at the hospital, she walked through the lobby with a confident smile. Everyone recognized her as the "Beach Hero" from the viral videos. She reached Fay's office and knocked lightly before stepping in.

Fay was sitting at her desk, looking at a mountain of paperwork. When she saw Kei, her heart gave a little jump, but she quickly put on her "serious doctor" face. She pretended not to be excited.

"Oh, you're here," Fay said, not looking up from her papers.

"I'm very busy, Kei."

"I brought you lunch,"

Kei said, placing the warm box on the desk. The smell of fresh ginger and fried chicken filled the room.

"I made the karaage myself."

Fay's stomach growled, betraying her. She slowly closed her folder and opened the box. She tried to act like it was just a normal meal, but her eyes sparked when she saw how perfect the chicken looked.

"I suppose I have to eat," Fay murmured, picking up a piece.

As they sat together, Fay started talking. She wasn't her usual quiet self. She was yapping talking fast and a lot. She talked about the difficult morning, the patients and especially about how annoying everyone was being.

"And then nina you know nurse nina she wouldn't stop showing me that video of the obstacle course,"

Fay said, waving her chopsticks in the air.

"She kept asking about the 'shorts incident.' And then my father! He called me to the office just to tease me! He's already talking about guest lists and flower arrangements, Kei! It's so unprofessional!"

Fay kept going on and on about the teasing and the viral comments, her hands moving as she explained her "suffering."

While Fay was yapping away, Kei didn't say a single word. She just sat there, leaning her chin on her hand, watching Fay with a look of pure, deep love.

Kei didn't care about the hospital drama or the father's jokes. She was just mesmerized by the way Fay's lips moved when she talked and the way her eyes got bright when she was frustrated. To Kei, Fay's voice was the best music in the world.

Kei just listened, nodding occasionally, her eyes sparkling with admiration. She looked like she was staring at a beautiful sunset, even though Fay was just complaining about work.

Fay suddenly stopped talking. She realized Kei had been quiet for a long time. She looked up and saw that intense, loving gaze directed right at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Fay asked.

"Aren't you going to say anything about my father's plan?"

Kei smiled, a slow and sweet expression.

"I think your father has very good taste in flower arrangements."

Fay nearly choked on a piece of chicken.

"Kei!"
