Chapter 15 - Cunning Rabbit

"This?!"

Looking at countless pairs of red eyes hidden in the forest, Lin Feng was stunned.

He did not expect these monsters to be so intelligent that they even knew how to surround them silently.

"Lord, I am afraid it's a level 2 boss," Fang Wei spoke, his voice filled with caution.

Lin Feng's face couldn't help but change after hearing this.

"Everyone form a circle; there will be a tough battle ahead so prepare to be injured," he instructed.

"Don't worry, lord; we are well prepared," Zhou Yu replied calmly.

Su Luli and others were also not flustered.

Panicking in this situation was useless after all, not to mention they have faith in their lord, who just reached level two.

If Lin Feng knew what they were thinking, he would definitely be speechless.

Faith in him? He did not even know how to use a sword yet.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

The monsters hiding behind trees finally moved, revealing their true bodies.

"This?" Lin Feng was stunned.

Not only him but other subjects were also the same.

"So cute~" Su Luli finally couldn't help but exclaim.

The monsters were cute, fluffy white rabbits. Rather than monsters, they looked like small stuffed toys for children to play with.

Swoosh!

Suddenly a rabbit's body was pierced by an arrow.

"Don't get distracted; attack now!" Fang Wei shouted hurriedly.

Hearing him, everyone recovered and started shooting.

Although the rabbits were cute, they were monsters; if they let them get close, someone might get injured and even die.

No one wanted to make such a mistake, not even Su Luli, who was unwilling to kill such cute rabbits.

The defense and health points of rabbits were too low. It only took two to three arrows to kill them.

Successive prompts kept ringing out and everyone's experience points were rising steadily.

However, no one was happy, as the number of rabbits seemed to be endless.

"It wants to exhaust us," Fang Wei's face was dark.

Shooting an arrow after all consumes some stamina; furthermore, the rabbits were agile and could dodge arrows.

If not for the fact their numbers were larger, the rabbits would've long ago closed on them.

"Keep shooting and retreat!" Lin Feng instructed with a helpless look.

He didn't expect a low-level monster to be this cunning.

Who knows what tricks they might have to face if they stayed for longer, so he decisively chose to retreat when everyone still had enough energy.

No one objected to his decision; they were even relieved, as after shooting a lot of arrows, their arms started to hurt.

Most of them had not held a bow in their entire life, after all.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

The moment they started to retreat, the number of rabbits increased again. However, with Fang Wei taking charge of closing rabbits, the pressure wasn't much.

Soon they reached near the protection shield; however, they did not step inside immediately.

Lin Feng wanted to draw out more rabbits.

In this way his expedition today would at least not go to waste. Although he won't be able to pick all drops, everyone's experience points would at least increase further.

However, as if sensing his thoughts, the rabbits retreated.

Lin Feng clicked his tongue in frustration and asked a few subjects to collect the nearby drops. Meanwhile, Fang Wei and others stayed in shooting position; as long as rabbits tried to attack, they would make holes in their bodies.

"Lord, here are the drops." A subject handed over everything.

[Obtained Rabbit Fur*14, Rabbit Meat*9, Monster Core*6 and Copper Coins*13]

Thinking of the drops he had to leave in the forest, Lin Feng was frustrated. They had killed more than a hundred rabbits after all.

Even if the drop rate is low, it certainly won't be bad.

"Everyone take a rest and come to see me in an hour," Lin Feng spoke and returned to his lord's house.

He had discovered a big problem just now and that was, except for Fang Wei, no one could fight in close combat.

Although shooting with arrows was safer, it took a lot of time and stamina.

Furthermore, everyone's aim was not that good. If not for the large amount of arrows showering down, the rabbits might have already closed upon them.

Not to mention shooting speed was also slower.

So he needed to find a solution.

He did not hesitate and wrote a message.

In the midst of the dense forest, there was a large patch of flat greenland that appeared out of nowhere.

At the center of greenland lay a small territory with few well-built wooden houses and subjects.

"There are too few people," Zhu Ruolan pouted unhappily.

She has a lot of blueprints drawn by Silvia; however, what's the use?

Even though she can construct buildings, she did not have too many people.

As for recruiting? She wanted them but didn't have enough copper coins.

Ding!

At this moment a message arrived in her inbox. There were many lords who were messaging her after she put the bronze-grade crossbow on sale.

Hence, she had muted her chat, allowing only some exceptions, like her friends, family, and some lords she found agreeable.

Nonetheless, she was still a little surprised that the message did not come from her family or friends but a lord she had interacted with only few times.

However, she did not delay and clicked on the message.

[Lin Feng: Do you have more training barracks or a higher-grade one? I am willing to buy in exchange for basic resources, monster cores, and copper coins. Also name the price for the crossbow; as long as it's appropriate, I will purchase it.]

A short message without any nonsense.

Zhu Ruolan couldn't help but become stunned, wondering how a lord with F-grade talent dared to talk like this.

Furthermore, his talent was farming, not something combat-related. So how many monsters could he have hunted?

"Is he like me, who recruited a very high-grade professional and its a combat type?" she frowned, thinking of how he purchased many items yesterday in exchange for raw meat.

Although he said he used poison, many lords suspected he was lying, as the raw meat didn't have any problems.
