Chapter 86 - Chapter 56: Prerequisites for Training

After registering with the caravan's supervisor, Leo and Rosh finally learned that the caravan's destination was the Delos Empire. The reason they weren't taking a sea route was simple—they needed to sell goods in several mountain villages along the way.

Because of that, the caravan would head to the Elven Defense Line, where they would rotate guards and caravan personnel. That was also why Galina had asked Luo Hua to help Leo and Rosh join up. The route was short, the journey offered plenty to learn, and the adventurers who returned from escort duty were usually steady, reliable types. If Leo wanted to choose teammates, this was a very good place to do it.

The trip itself wouldn't take long—at most about a week. If they weren't traveling with the caravan, it would only take two or three days to return to Huttonmar.

However—

"Also, Tangie asked me to give you some guidance and help you train your body," Luo Hua said, looking at Leo and shaking her head slightly.

"I can tell the reason just by looking at you. You've never really trained before, have you? You've only taken part in a few recent fights. She told me your stamina is very poor, so you need proper conditioning."

Looking at Leo's build, Luo Hua gave a very fair assessment.

"That's… true," Leo nodded, feeling a little awkward.

She wasn't wrong. He really hadn't trained before. The reason his belly had flattened out was purely because he'd been starving and doing hard labor in the Seven Days to Die world.

As for Tangie saying his stamina was bad…

That was simply because Tangie's stamina was absurdly good. At most, Leo and Tangie could go one or two rounds, and after that his waist felt like it was about to snap. If he forced himself to keep up with Tangie…

With his ordinary office-worker body—without the buffs from the Seven Days to Die world—he simply couldn't last.

In fact, he already felt his legs going weak that morning.

"So I'll be training you during this period. Here—these are the weights you'll need, along with the medicines required during training. I bought them from Norton, so don't worry, they're not poisonous."

As Luo Hua spoke, she took a package down from one of the wagons. When Leo opened it, he found metal rings identical to those worn by the female fighters he'd seen around the city. Almost every female fighter he'd encountered wore something like this.

"This switch lets you evenly apply weight to most of your body's muscles. One setting adds twenty kilograms, with a maximum of two hundred kilograms. This button turns it on and off. Before combat, just turn it off and the extra weight will disengage."

She pointed at the arm ring in Leo's hand and demonstrated. Only then did Leo realize it was a weighted training device.

And a very high-end one at that.

The kind ordinary people wouldn't normally have access to.

"Oh?" Leo said.

He took the arm ring, copied her movements, locked it onto his arm, and flipped the switch.

In the next moment, the ring automatically secured itself without compressing his blood vessels or muscles. Leo immediately felt his body sink as an invisible force spread evenly across him.

Even with only twenty kilograms added, he could clearly feel how much heavier his body had become.

"Uh… is this gravity magic?" he asked.

Before Luo Hua could answer, Rosh chimed in with a comment.

"It's not that terrifying kind of thing. It's just a basic application of gravity magic. If it were real gravity magic, your brain, blood vessels, and organs would be turned to mush instantly. This is just a simple weight-enhancement spell—it's not that amazing. True gravity magic isn't gentle at all. Even the weakest form would instantly destroy your body's microcirculation. Your eyes and retinas would be torn apart first."

Luo Hua nodded.

"I don't understand magic, but Miss Rosh is correct. This is just a standard model. High-end weighted arm rings can target specific muscle groups and even look better. But for fighters like us, every muscle needs training, so this type is actually ideal. The only downside is that the multiplier isn't very high. If you want higher loads, you'll need to buy those yourself."

With that, Luo Hua handed the bag to Leo.

"Inside are medicines for relieving muscle fatigue, rapidly replenishing nutrition, restoring stamina, and healing injuries. There are also drugs that help regulate cardiovascular stress to prevent your blood vessels from failing under high load. I've written the price and effect on each bottle. They're not expensive. When you run out, you can buy more from Norton or from the caravan. Over the next few days, I'll teach you when to use each one and how to use them properly."

"..."

Leo looked at the pile of bottles and packets in the bag, then glanced at the medieval-style buildings and clothing around them, scratching his head.

Honestly, hearing this from Luo Hua—paired with all these training drugs—felt strangely absurd.

But thinking about it, it made perfect sense. A fighter's training obviously couldn't rely on just eating and punching to build stamina. Various medicines and equipment were clearly necessary. Even on Earth that was true; in a world with magic and energy, using magical equipment and potions to assist training was even more normal.

Even if Rosh refused to call it gravity magic.

"I get it. Then, Rosh—does magical training work the same way? Does it also require lots of potions and materials?"

Leo knew it was probably a pointless question, but he wanted to be sure.

"Yes—and far more than this," Rosh sighed helplessly. "Even for someone like me who trains elemental orbs, I still spend at least dozens of gold coins per month on magic-related expenses."

She sounded genuinely troubled. With her abilities, earning her living expenses wasn't difficult. The problem was that food cost money, and training magic and physical techniques cost even more money. If all her earnings went into food, she wouldn't have funds left to train. But if she cut food expenses, she'd have the money to train—yet no strength to actually do it.

So when faced with Leo's request—

Rosh had absolutely no resistance at all.
