Chapter 43 - Chapter 43: Learning Miscellaneous Information (1)

The moment Huang Shi had done his intimate gesture, the people who were silently staring at them burning with jealousy suddenly erupted, shouting out words of defamation one by one.

"Huang Shi! You dare harass Junior Sister Fenyi? Do you have a death wish!?"

"Huang Shi! Even if I know I'm not your match, if you dare to take advantage of Junior Sister Fenyi, I am willing to fight you to the death!"

"Junior Sister Fenyi! Get away from that bastard! Look at his eyes—he clearly has perverted intentions!"

Alright, you bastards, the first two insults I can still understand, but what the fuck do you mean by perverted intentions? How is that perverted!!

[You have angered a lot of cultivators severely +500 Scum Points]

Huang Shi's face twitched. Even though he had experience with other men being jealous of him, this world of cultivation was on a whole other level entirely. Don't you have your own lives to live, you useless simps!

After Qiao Fenyi had gotten over her sudden spell of embarrassment due to Huang Shi's actions, her eyes suddenly seemed to spit fire as she was at a loss for words. "Yo—you! How dare you do that to me!!"

Seeing the adorable reaction of the girl in front of him made Huang Shi smile as he spoke without much concern. "Alright, Junior Sister Fenyi, no need to get so worked up. Can you tell me where the miscellaneous information section of the information hall is located?"

Qiao Fenyi, seeing that Huang Shi didn't seem to care whether or not she was mad at all, gritted her teeth as numerous thoughts went through her head. This guy is so cocky! I will definitely put him in his place one of these days!

Despite these thoughts, she suddenly realized that she didn't feel as averse to his touch as she thought; in fact, the moment his hands made contact with her, she felt a bit tingly. Of course, this tingly feeling was Huang Shi's system at work, as the [Charm] skill had been passively activated, making it easier for girls to fall for his charms. In fact, it was so subtle that even Huang Shi himself didn't notice that it was already active.

After taking a couple of seconds to calm herself down, Qiao Fenyi once again looked straight at Huang Shi before finally pointing in a certain direction. "I don't know why you would want that kind of information, but those kinds of useless stuff are found in that section towards the right. If you want a copy of the information, just bring the scroll you want copied and hand it over to me. Once you are done with whatever it is you are doing, we can move onto the second floor."

Without waiting for his response, Qiao Fenyi walked away from him without giving him so much as a second glance. Clearly, spending time with Huang Shi had caused her emotions to run haywire, and so she wanted a bit of peace for a while.

Huang Shi, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind as he once again smiled inwardly. No rush... let's take our time.

Without wasting any time, he walked in the direction that Qiao Fenyi had pointed out earlier and started to look around the place. The first thing he noticed was that the information hall was basically a huge library filled with all sorts of books and scrolls, all of them arranged in a very organized manner.

Some parts contained cultivation techniques where a lot of people were gathered and reading through the information together. Others held attack-type cultivation techniques, such as how to use swords, spears, and even bows. There were sections with movement techniques designed to increase the speed and maneuverability of cultivators, while others talked about the basics of formations, pill refining, artifact smithing, and more.

There's a lot of useful information here. Let's see if the system really can help me remember all of these things.

After thinking for a couple of moments, Huang Shi took out one of the books from the bookshelf entitled "The Basics Of Spiritual Energy Cultivation."

The contents of this book were pretty self-explanatory; it was a book that taught the basics of cultivation, the differences between each level, and what to look out for in terms of bottlenecks.

Hmmm... each time a cultivator breakthroughs a major cultivation level, his lifespan increases by a set amount.

For example, if a cultivator breakthroughs the Elementary Profound Realm to the Nascent Profound Realm, his lifespan increases by 300 years. Considering that in this world, the average lifespan of a mortal was around 120 years because of the abundance of spiritual energy, more than doubling your lifespan was already a pretty good reason to cultivate.

There were a lot of things he learned from this book, and one of the more interesting things he found out was that it was very difficult to fight against people of a higher realm than you, especially if it was a major cultivation level difference. The difference between a cultivator at the 9th level of the Elementary Profound Realm and a cultivator at the 1st level of the Nascent Profound Realm was bigger than all nine levels of the Elementary Profound Realm combined.

I guess a heavenly physique really is as special as I thought it would be.

The reason Huang Shi thought this way was because when he was fighting against Huang Yi earlier, even though he felt a bit of a threat from him, it was nowhere near the insurmountable description provided by the book. In fact, he felt that if he tried hard enough, he could probably beat Huang Yi without any trouble.

It's good that my suffering was worth it.

When Huang Shi remembered the torturous pain he went through to acquire his heavenly physique, he shivered; he would never wish that kind of pain even on his worst enemy. After thinking these kinds of mundane thoughts, Huang Shi continued his reading spree, learning about all sorts of random information.

"The Basics of Pill Refining"

"The Basics of Artifact Forging"
