Chapter 21 - The Cunning of Light and Shadow

PSI said, walking toward them for a greater look...

"the shadow dive they do is kinda similar to my inventory. Whenever they dive into a shadow, they have a time limit based on how many of them are in one shadow. The greater the number, the greater the time limit will be. But if they can't get out of the shadow...

My inventory won't allow living things inside, so in order not to let them roam inside my inventory, it will seal the shadow... What will happen when they reach the time limit?

'Force transfer.' Of course, they will be forced to transfer into another shadow, basically teleporting them out.

But what if there is no shadow open near the area limit...? They all will fall into the deep unknown vacuum space...

Consider them all dead.

That's half of you dead. Now, only eleven or twelve thousand of you are left. Give it all you got...

The Light Goblin leader leaned forward, his luminous eyes fixed on PSI with an unnervingly dead stare.

"How do you do such a thing?" he whispered, his voice humming with restrained energy. "You're… cunning. What else do you have in your sleeve?"

The Shadow Goblin leader lay sprawled nearby, a pool of living darkness against the broken ground. He chuckled, a sound like gravel shifting in the void.

"It's not just cunning," he drawled. "It's more than that. He understands his enemies. He matches their level… only to reveal he was always their superior. But you're right, he is smart." The shadowy form shifted, a smirk forming in the gloom. "The real flavor here… is that he never underestimates his opponents. He doesn't see an obstacle that will trip him. He sees a mountain he must climb. That is the essence of this creature. Damned human!"

The Light Goblins' leader, with a bit of relaxed gesture, said, "When there is no shadow, there is greater light... When there is greater shadow, there is always greater light. Doesn't that mean... that you storing all the shadow from here doesn't mean the light is getting weaker...? That's why light magic never had weakness..."

PSI laughed so aggressively, he couldn't hold it, going insane, and said, "Have you never heard of a mirror before?"

All of them were confused...

He then shouted, with a laugh following his aggressively spoken words, "Your weakness is a fucking beauty salon!"

The Light Goblins, all grouped hundreds strong, came gushing in with their attacks. PSI fired the mega-large light bulbs he had stored a while ago.

The light bulbs, with astonishing speed, breaking through the air, attacked the goblins' mega-large light bulbs...

His thrown light bulbs didn't explode nor bounce back. They were just absorbed, like a cup of water joining the beach...

PSI noticed that the light can't be destroyed. But he noticed that they were having a little hard time controlling it and it was unifying into one mega-large light bulb larger than the others.

'It's always obvious... that there is a limit for everything. And I guess the light can't explode unless it's out of control. So when they use it to attack, all they have to do is release their control over it, and eventually throw it in my direction with its max speed while releasing control. Not bad... But why not give them some more light bulbs.'

PSI thought again, "Even I'm bored of doing this shit but can't say no..."

He then opened his inventory doors...

All of them were trajected toward the light bulbs. The goblins couldn't move it fast unless they lost control over it. It was still a weight over their heads.

PSI clicked his fingers... The sound of his gentle fingers clicking echoed.

The doors just poured sea water over the lights. It's obvious that the water would pass through and splash on the ground.

Knowing that PSI poured it all...

The waterfalls all shined, reflecting and deflecting the light bulbs... The amount of light just kept increasing and decreasing across the light bulbs.

It seemed like a nightclub with streaming light all over the place...

Deeming more and more as it reflected from one another and deflected, it was spanking light sparkles all over the place.

Soon after the dim lights flashed everywhere, one of the goblins' bodies exploded. PSI already caught on the fact that light magic is the opposite of shadow magic. Although opposites attract each other, the concept was definitely clear.

Shadow magic allows the user, or the magician, to dive into it. Here, it's the exact opposite: the light is the one diving into the goblins, that's why they glow even in days.

But there is always a limit to how much can dive in, corresponding to how many can dive into the shadow.

That's why unknowingly, the lights reflecting from one light bulb to another caused an unbalanced amount of light bulb explosions, which usually would be sent directly to the user to be stored in.

The higher the amount of light, the higher the chance of the magician's explosion. He kept pouring the water from the doors here and there...

Everyone noticed they couldn't do anything anymore, and some who were exceptionally talented, yet behind the fight soldiers... though the explosions.

The explosions, sent at almost sound speed, did not affect PSI. He didn't move or react as if he was under threat. He opened his doors circling him and poured water all around him.

He continued to do it. The light bulbs all deflected and streamed throughout the ground from all directions. But it didn't end there—it exploded the rest of the goblins holding mega-large light bulb explosions.

PSI would have been in danger if he ran, not knowing it would stream almost everywhere.

He then adjusted the door size and created straight waterfalls, waving them, knowing the direction of reflected light would change.

The talented Light Goblins stayed behind the ones who had mega-large light bulbs left. But one of them turned around and saw a punch right in front of his neck.

PSI just ran with his ultimate speed, which had recovered, and reached the goblins, beginning to beat the shit out of them.

He punched the first goblin. He then turned around and gave the second one an uppercut. He backed backward...

He stopped and ran in a circle, attacking with a mid-air punch. In that moment, so many lights were shot at him. But he flipped backward, landing on the ground.

As soon as he landed, a series of lights were shot at him, but he used his speed and flipped back into his mid-air punch.

The light explosions passed under his legs and made a cinematic moment right after he landed his punch, completely busting the goblin's head into pieces...

The lights exploded right behind him, making him a spotlight for a cinematic movie. He dashed forward and continued punching through them.

No one dared to explode a single light, not even a sparkle, because all would explode. But they agreed: if they could take him with them, why not?

Everyone clung to PSI, circling him, not giving him space to even breathe.

Instead of shooting one attack, why not explode ourselves... was the only thought.

Without even knowing what they were doing, they exploded themselves, holding on to PSI, over thousands of them...
