Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: Wizard's Battle Drill, the Real Chimera

Behind a stone pillar.

Malfoy was hiding stealthily, unnoticed by anyone.

He stared intently at the Troll and Lucien's group, wanting to mock their foolishness for not running away, and also wondering whether to loudly call the Professors. Not because he wanted to save them, but because he thought it would be a direct way to catch them in the act of violating rules.

Who would care about the safety of those few? They were all the detestable Grafton, Potter, Weasley, and one who seemed to be Granger...

"Hey, Draco, move further in."

This sudden voice startled Malfoy, and he quickly turned to look.

"Daphne? What are you doing here?"

Huddled behind Malfoy was Daphne Greengrass. She glanced at Malfoy.

"What I'm doing is none of your business."

Malfoy couldn't understand the thought process of this young lady, but he didn't want to offend the heiress of the Greengrass family, so he made a little room for her.

...

In the corridor.

Lucien relaxed his wrist, slightly raised his wand, and said calmly:

"In battle, whether facing a Wizard or a magic creature, you should try to understand the opponent's information as much as possible first."

"Answer me, what are the characteristics of a Troll?"

This classroom-like question made Hermione subconsciously answer:

"Trolls have immense strength, low intelligence, relatively slow movements, thick skin, and decent magic resistance."

"Well said, Gryffindor gets one point."

Lucien made a light joke, slightly easing the tension of the three youngsters.

With that, Lucien cast several spells in quick succession:

"Glacius"

"Diffindo"

"Bombarda"

...

For the convenience of demonstration, Lucien did not go all out, controlling the spell's power within a relatively reasonable range.

A thin layer of frost covered the Troll, followed by a dozen small cuts, and it was pushed back a few steps by the explosion.

Shaking its head, the thick-skinned Troll only felt a slight pain. It let out an impatient roar, then quickened its pace towards Lucien, stomping its large feet.

Hmm, by using specific spell combinations and continuous casting, one's movements can indeed become smoother, and the momentum can gradually build.

The Weasley family's spell techniques are quite good.

Seeing the Troll striding towards him, Lucien was not flustered at all.

"When fighting, always pay attention to the enemy, but don't ignore the surrounding environment."

"If direct magic attacks are not effective against the enemy, then try to use or change the environment."

Lucien lightly waved his wand, and the floor in front of the Troll instantly became slick and shiny.

"Bang!"

The Troll fell flat on its back, its occiput hitting the floor heavily, creating a small dent, and the wooden club in its hand flew out.

Lucien tapped his wand, deftly deflecting the flying wooden club, letting it fall to the side.

When the Troll barely managed to get up, it charged forward with even greater fury.

The ground beneath it suddenly turned into a muddy swamp.

The Troll's legs immediately sank into it, making it difficult to pull free for a moment.

Glancing at the three youngsters, who were no longer as panicked and scared as before, Lucien said unhurriedly:

"Facing a powerful enemy, fear is normal, but don't let this emotion control you; instead, use it."

"The courage that can overcome fear is stronger than fear itself. Try to use this courage to fuel your magic."

The three nodded in a dazed way, feeling that what Lucien said made sense, but they didn't know exactly how to do it.

Lucien pulled out a small green gourd, tilted it mouth-down, and poured it out.

"In a Wizard's battle, spells are the most practical and common means, but they are not the only means."

"Potions, Alchemy, Herbology, and so on, all have practical applications in combat."

"Waddiwasi"

Several Chinese Chomping Cabbages poured out of the gourd. Before they even hit the ground, they shot towards the Troll under the effect of the spell.

"Crunch! Crunch!"

Following that was the Troll's slightly painful growl. The sharp teeth of the Biting Cabbages were deeply embedded in its flesh, refusing to let go.

The Troll's thick, abnormally long arms scratched, pulling off the Biting Cabbages, and even grabbed one to bite it fiercely, as if retaliating for the harm they had caused.

However, Lucien saw the Troll immediately spit out the cabbage in its mouth with a "pah!" and discard the Biting Cabbage in its hand with disgust.

Heh, Chinese Chomping Cabbages are indeed hard to eat. Even a Troll can't stomach them, huh?

But their biting force is quite impressive. They can even bite through a Troll's flesh, though not terrifying enough to bite a Troll to death in two or three bites.

But for humans, it's enough. It would be a good trap.

Like mixing them into Devil's Snare or something.

If you're not careful and get bitten, tsk tsk.

When the Troll broke free from the mud, driven by anger, it rushed towards them.

Lucien also put away his teaching mindset.

The demonstration could end.

"If conventional methods cannot stop the enemy, then only two methods remain."

"Either, make a righteous retreat."

Hearing this, Harry immediately understood and prepared to drag the still-confused Ron and Hermione to run.

However, Lucien's next words and actions stopped him.

"Or, use truly powerful magic to blast the enemy to smithereens."

Lucien pulled out several small bottles from his pocket, containing different Potions with various effects.

He pointed his silver-black wand, and the nearby wooden club began to shake violently, twisting and deforming continuously.

The club's texture twisted and swelled, transforming into a python's body covered in pitch black scales, the edges of which were sharp as razors.

Its head split into a crocodile's snout filled with sharp fangs, and four pitch-black eagle claws emerged from its abdomen.

This monster's eye sockets contained insect-like compound crystalline lenses, its head was hornless, but its spine grew messy, bone-white spikes.

Its tail, however, was like a fusion of a scorpion's tail and a centipede, with the stinger at the end constantly opening and closing, making a scissor-like clicking sound.

It leaped up, swallowing the several bottles of Potions in mid-air into its belly.

Immediately, black-green mist spewed out as its scales opened and closed, and an ear-piercing metallic scraping sound accompanied its breathing.

A shrill cry, like an eagle's shriek and a wolf's howl, emanated from the monster's mouth.

The next instant, it had already collided with the Troll.

Lucien had already created an air wall, isolating the black-green mist.

In a blink of an eye, the monster bit the Troll's neck, its python-like body tightly coiling around the Troll, its sharp claws and scales tearing the Troll's skin into a bloody mess.

Amidst the creaking of the Troll's bones, Lucien evaluated the performance of the Chimera he had Transfigured.

Hmm, not bad.

The Chimera, Transfigured through deep fusion and transformation from flesh and bone, although lacking magic abilities, its pure physical strength already exceeded the limits of ordinary creatures.

A Chimera capable of rivaling magic creatures to a certain extent should be the true Chimera in the mind of that ancient Wizard, the author of the chimera handbook.

As for stronger and more wondrous Transfigured creatures, he would either have to research magic creature Transfiguration himself in the future, or combine Alchemy to create semi-mechanical creatures.

With a crash, the Troll collapsed, falling heavily to the ground.

The exposed skin surface was covered in black-green, a sign that the toxins had entered its body.

Lucien waved his wand to dissipate the poisonous gas emitted by the Chimera, removed the air wall, and had it drag the Troll over.

Uh, it seems to be a bit dead.

Looking at the limp Troll, like a broken rag, Lucien secretly thought it a pity.

He had originally thought of raising it to extract materials like Troll snot.

This was his first time using a deeply integrated and modified Chimera in combat, and he hadn't been careful enough.

Never mind, he would put it away for now. If it lived, it lived; if not, it would be extra food for the Acromantulas.

Lucien pulled out a black gourd and put the half-dead Troll inside.

And as Lucien was collecting the Troll, the Chimera's nose suddenly twitched, its compound eyes rotated, and it looked behind a certain pillar.

Its translucent, eerie eyeballs directly met a pair of eyes filled with fear.
