The day after was quieter than the day itself.
That was the nature of days after. The celebration had been real and warm and had gone longer than anyone planned because Mira had produced something from the Temple's recipe archive that turned out to be exceptional and nobody had wanted to leave the table while it was still on it. Caelum had eaten three portions without comment. Lyra had laughed at something Vaelor said and the laugh had caught and spread around the table until even Mira was laughing and nobody could quite remember what had started it.
It had been a good day.
The day after was just the four of them at the kitchen table again, which was also good, just differently.
