After the show, Thorne went down to the arena, now filled with broken weapons, clothes and sweat. And of course the 5 tired and beat up guys in the middle.
"ahhhhh well that was a nice way to get to know each other" Himself in a perfect suit was a weird and out of place thing.
Groans and coughs went out , but they all got up and lined up in front of him.
"So, now that you know a little more about what can you do and how weak you are, Voro and Michael here will teach you a little bit more so you don`t die inside the Tower"
Of course, Voro and Michael again had no idea about this.
"Thorne....when were you going to tell me that?"
"Now" and towards the rest "Have fun and listen to your seniors. See you tomorrow"
And left them alone with a very smooth exit and a sharp door slam, before any of the new guys or veterans could utter "What" or "How". Voro had to become their new babysitter apparently, since Michael was not in a state where he could handle others.
"So.." scratching his head intensively which was the only sound heard in the dead silent room "How do I say this politely..."
"You`re not.....garbage" his voice may lacked warmth emotion but it did not sound demoting at all." You can handle yourself and a weapon fine,it`s just.....stat difference"
"This isn`t a game you know" Lena, one of the people in there with a black eye and blonde hair said as if she heard a bad joke
"It kind of is." Voro sighed after realizing that talking might not help here
" STATUS" The blue window appeared in the air
[Challenger : Voro Vane]
[Tower : ???????? Tower of ??????? goblins]
[Class : Predator]
[Level : 6]
[ Statistics ]

[Wisdom 11]
[Intelligence 8]
[Mana 0]
[???? 0]
"Now take a look at this" pointing at the empty space from their perspective
"Look at what?" Mark squinted at the dust from the fan behind him.
"Oh you can`t. Great. "
'Note : People can`t see this. Will have to test on Hunters'
"So what I can see is like a game stat window. Name, Class, Stats and skills. And well it says here I`m level ...6. Huh" Voro took a look at his status finally. The djinni admin did mention rewards, they must have come while he was at the hospital
'I`ll have to check them later' "Yea anyways level 6, class...that`s for me to know...stats. Maybe not everything but my strength is at 11 now, which is something like 2 times more than when I entered the 1st floor"
"And that was?"
"The 1st day they appeared" He said with a hint of pride.
"So.." The 5 guys looked at each other with skepticism written on their faces "In less than a month. You. Without proper training and with only butcher experience. Have gotten twice as strong, almost twice as fast, you wield knives like a pro and can knock out a guy we can`t scratch without them?"
"Yes. Basically"
"HOW???!!!" 5 young adults became 5 tiny children at this point, all with round open eyes almost begging him to tell the magic secret
"Wow wow, chill. It`s nothing special."
"FUCK YOU MEAN NOTHING SPECIAL?!?!?!"
"I mean, just go into the Tower. Kill the goblins. Kill the boss. And level up. That`s .... yea, that`s all"
"You got stronger, by killing ....goblins?"
"Yup"
The childish excitement was almost gone now replaced with disappointment
"That`s impossible. If it was just goblins, there should be so much more Hunters coming back from the Tower. The goblins are like pests. Green pests"
"Jj...jus...justgoblins???" Michael joined the conversation "GREEN PESTS???GOBLINS???" and smacked Lena ,who just said that.
"YOU... can`t say shit...about the goblins. You haven`t seen what they can do."
"Michael.. stop "
"They will try to eat you alive. They will bite and they will claw you, and if you`re lucky and kill a few, there`s another pack behind the corner."
"Michael let her go"
"And IF you survive their swarm, there`s the boss. THAT THING, is just a monster. IT feels only hunger to kill you.
"MICHAEL!" Voro grabbed his hand, as he had been slapping the girl for his whole tantrum monologue and she passed out.
"Whaa.. what...oh shit.....sorry" immediately he let her go and went into the corner to shake again.
"Yea, as much as he is crazy, he`s right. Kind of"
"The goblins will do everything they can to kill you. Bite and claw you, but they also have weapons. Primitive and stolen from the place around you, but they are weapons" The explanation was helping with their image of a goblin, but still it was confusing. The weakest monster in fiction shouldn`t be a problem.
"Wait wait wait, I read your report on the 1st and 2nd floor, there was no 'goblin swarm' mentioned"
"No there wasn`t. I simply did it very slowly. 1-3 goblins at a time. Assassinate a group then fall back. Silently and in the dark. I assume Michael had the guts to scream and make noise."
"If you want good advice, then I have 2. One, this looks and feels like a game. Monsters and skills are cool, but danger is real. Don`t treat this like its a game, treat it like war. Two - kill.
Don`t fight
Don`t brawl.
Don`t do dumb shit.
And finish the enemy as fast as possible. That`s it"
The 5 newbies listened well, they stood in a nice line in front of their teacher giving them a lecture
"But....There are nice things in there too" Voro pulled a ring out of his inventory window "Rewards. Items. Skills" the ring went into the air with a nice spin to it getting all of their eyes glued to it "If you survive and get better, human laws and expectation will slowly stop applying to you"
"Like what"
"Jumping between buildings. Dodging bullets. These sorts of things. And if FBAM does its job nicely, possibly we won`t have to care about the police soon enough"
The faces went back to a smile, dim and small, but a smile.
"C`mon, I`ll show you how to kill something properly" And they went to have an actual lesson. With teacher Voro brutally and efficiently getting his daggers and other training weapons to their vital points. His simple tactics were still something the trained human professionals could learn, since hunting and assassinating was not part of their curriculum.
It was going nicely. He showed, they listened. He asked, they answered. They attacked, he defended and corrected , if he knew how.
This was his own class. His new students.
Thorne watched from a one way mirrored, smiling to himself.
"Good for him"
