Kami, still sitting on the floor, was devastated. Within the span of five hours he got powers, met some evil shadow guy that not only almost killed him but also took away his sister to god knows what kind of dark place.
But one thing was sure, he couldn't keep sitting there. He had to do something to get Asuka back. Even though he had absolutely no idea how to even find out where Asuka was now.
"If Asuka, the shadow man and me have powers, and he called me number 3 and asuka number 666 then there just have to be more people with those kind of powers" he thought to himself.
And if there were others with this kind of abilities then there must've been some kind of way to find them.
His hands still shaking from the shock of Asuka getting kidnapped he stepped out of the partly burned down room and left the house. He had no idea where to go to or where to look for Asuka or anyone with powers that could help him.
Not long after he left the house though he noticed a presence following him.
The streets were empty and it was a very dark night. But somehow he felt that he was being watched by something or someone.
Kami stood in the street, his heart still hammering against his ribs. The silence of Tokyo at night was deafening. Suddenly, a trash can clattered in the distance.
Small and fast footsteps broke the silence of the night.
"Hello? Is someone there?" Kami shouted. No answer. Just the soft patter-patter of small feet on pavement.
He began to walk faster and faster, fearing he'd be followed by another evil Power user or "Coder" but after a while someone stepped out of an alleyway next to Kami.
Rather than someone it was a cat. A small black cat with glowing green eyes.
"Aw you cute thing, c'mere" kami took a step towards the cat
Within an instant the cat suddenly transformed into something else.The small frame of the cat suddenly buckled and expanded. Bone popped and fur lengthened as the tiny creature surged upward, its silhouette stretching until a heavy, muscular predator stood where the kitten had been. In front of Kami no longer stood a cat but a pitch black panther with the same green eyes which now stopped glowing.
"Go away or I'll have to kill and eat you, human" the panther hissed.
Kami was totally shocked because he would've never thought that an animal would be talking in human language to him.
"What? Why can you talk? You're an animal"
"You can understand me? That must mean you're another coder, right?"
The panther now seemed way more friendly than before and began to tell Kami about its powers. Her power was called "Pet" and gave her the ability to transform into any kind of animal that she'd already killed before.
Not doubting the power of this ability he dared not to ask her how a little kitty cat was able to kill a panther to be able to transform into one.
After they walked down the street for about an hour her eyes started to glow again.
"oh, it's ready again" the panther transformed again, and was back into the form of the cat, as earlier.
"My name is Inu"
"Kami" they introduced themselves.
"I was watching" Inu started, "I know that your sister was taken by Umbra, which is very unpleasant for you but I know someone that can help you with your problem."
Under the requirement that you adopt me as your pet.
"Agreed, I'd love that"
Suddenly Kami's phone became smoking hot again. A new line of text in the same glowing gold formed on his screen.
