Selene's POV
Voss had cleared his schedule.
Not visibly — there were no empty corridors, no cancelled meetings announced, no obvious signal that Iron Ridge's Alpha had restructured his day around our arrival. But when we pulled through the gate at 0930 the particular quality of the packhouse told me what careful observation of any community eventually reveals: the difference between a place that is managing its usual business and a place that has quietly made room for something it considers significant.
He met us in the formal receiving room this time.
