"We can't do anything anymore."
The reporter looked into the camera with a blank smile.
"This is the punishment of our sins."
The cameraman tilted the lens upward, the image shook.
At the center of the sky was a dark spot. It was small, almost easy to ignore, but it was slowly growing.
The camera lowered again.
"Yes," the reporter said, his voice steady now, "in about five minutes, this will be the end of Earth."
He paused, then let out a breath.
"So let's spend it together."
He lay down on the road, the cameraman followed, framing the dark spot as it expanded.
The sky went dark and the ground began to shake.
As the final seconds passed, the reporter spoke again.
"Goodbye everyone."
