Two days later, Jay was finally leaving the hospital.
Jennie kept fixing her bag while Jay stood near the door waiting impatiently.
Jennie: You still look tired.
Jay: You've said that like five times already.
Jennie: Because it's true.
Before Jennie could continue, Ci-N walked in carrying way too many snacks.
Ci-N: I brought food.
Keifer looked at the bags.
Keifer: Why are there so many?
Ci-N: Recovery takes effort.
Jay laughed quietly.
Jay: You bought all my favorites.
Ci-N: Obviously.
A nurse came in a few minutes later with the last paperwork.
Nurse: You need to rest when you get home. No stressing yourself out.
Jay nodded, even though everyone knew she probably wouldn't listen.
The second they walked outside, Jay stopped for a moment.
The sunlight felt strange after being inside for so long.
Keifer: You okay?
Jay: Yeah. It just feels weird being outside again.
Ci-N handed her sunglasses dramatically.
Ci-N: I prepared for this moment.
Jennie: No one asked you to.
Ci-N: But I still succeeded.
Jay smiled a little and kept walking.

The next morning, Jennie thought Jay would finally stay home and rest.
Instead, Jay showed up at school.
Jennie stared at her in disbelief.
Jennie: You cannot be serious.
Jay: I missed enough already.
Jennie: You were literally unconscious.
Jay: And now I'm not.
There was really no arguing with her after that.
When they entered the school building, people immediately started staring.
Some looked confused. Others looked shocked she was even there.
Ci-N walked beside her like security.
Ci-N: Everyone calm down. The patient survived.
Jay: Please stop talking.
Keifer laughed quietly behind them.
By the time they got to class, almost everyone was looking at her.
One person finally spoke.
Student: Jay?!
Another stood up immediately.
Student: Wait—you're actually back?
Jay dropped into her seat carefully.
Jay: Unfortunately.
The teacher walked in a few seconds later and froze when they saw her.
Teacher: …Jay?
Jay: Hi.
The teacher looked genuinely confused.
Teacher: Shouldn't you still be at home?
Jay: Probably.
Jennie sighed.
Jennie: She refused to listen to us.
Teacher: That sounds about right.
Class started normally after that, but people kept glancing at Jay every few minutes.
Halfway through the lesson, Jay leaned back in her chair.
Jay: I forgot how tiring school is.
Ci-N turned around immediately.
Ci-N: Weak.
Jay threw a pen at him without hesitation.
It hit him directly in the forehead.
Ci-N: Okay, violence wasn't necessary.
Keifer laughed.
And for the first time in a while, things felt normal again.
