There wasn't much for Mila to do in a room that was maybe a hundred square feet.
But now that she had come up with the conclusion that she needed to save herself, she just needed one single simp... guard... right... guard, to help her out.
As if her thought had been brought to life, she heard soft footsteps on the other side of the door. It looked like her luck was just about to change.
Moving away from the door, she went back to the bed and sat on the edge of the lump, narrow mattress. She folded her hands in her lap, and hunched her shoulders slightly to give herself a smaller, more defeated look.
She made sure to keep her breathing soft and shallow, and her posture as unthreatening as possible.
She needed to be small.
Harmless.
A mouse.
She scoffed for a brief second before she went back into her role. It wasn't a new one for her, in face, it was a performance she'd perfected years ago.
