If one had to call it a piece of land, it could only be described as a forgotten depression, about the size of three stadiums combined. There was absolutely no architecture on its surface, and the center dipped downward into slightly clumpy soil. The surrounding ground was pitch black, cracked into massive flakes, as bone-dry and razor-sharp as shattered roof tiles. Around this area, not even a single blade of the inherently resilient mutated grasses of planet Anvia could grow; there were only a few withered, decaying tree trunks lying around haphazardly.
The wind sweeping through the hollow created an eerie, howling screech.
"This place, in our area, is called the Dead Land." The name alone sounded like bad news. Asher Ryder cast a glance at Kael, a hunter's gaze was not something easily dealt with. Although Kael was a Beta, looking at the Alpha's increasingly icy expression made Kael feel a genuine sense of fear.
