Could she say that? Of course not! So she could only watch Illustrious lie without being able to expose her... A dozen AST units arrived in the sky, their arrival interrupting Illustrious and Tohka's reunion.
"Spirits! Die! Your very existence is a sin! Death is the only path for you." Origami took the lead again, firing six missiles at Illustrious and Tohka. The six missiles streaked violently toward them.
The dozen flying people appearing in the sky surprised Itsuka Shido. What surprised him most was that the person at the very front was actually a classmate he knew—Tobiichi Origami!
Looking at the six missiles, Illustrious and Tohka were both furious! How could they not be angry when these AST members interrupted their intimacy?
Illustrious reached into the void, and demon king: sandalphon manifested in her hand. With a forceful swing toward the six missiles in the sky, a purple sword qi shot out violently.
In the blink of an eye, this purple sword qi sliced through and detonated all six missiles.
Illustrious said calmly, "They are the AST, the Anti-Spirit Team. They attack us because every time a Spirit manifests, it causes a Spacequake, and they're just doing this to maintain world peace. Tohka, just knock them down; there's no need to take their lives!"
"So that's why they attack me every time!" Every time Tohka manifested in different parts of the world, she would be attacked by a dozen flying people. Today, in Tengu City, she finally learned the reason for their attacks from her sister. "Okay, I understand. I'll just knock them down."
Illustrious and Tohka both summoned their demon king: sandalphon. Illustrious took flight and charged toward Origami.
Origami and Illustrious clashed. The other dozen AST members had already closed in on Illustrious, intending to help Origami and eliminate the Spirit together.
Captain Kusakabe Ryouko shouted, "Everyone, draw your blades and help! Let's slay this Spirit together!"
"Yes, Captain!" the AST members replied in unison.
One by one, the AST members drew their laser blades and lunged at Illustrious like lightning.
On the other side, Tohka saw these AST members trying to attack her sister and immediately became enraged. "Hmph! I won't let you hurt Sister!"
Tohka raised her demon king: sandalphon and flew up to battle the AST.
Since the AST were ordinary humans, although operating Realizers allowed them to surpass ordinary special forces, it was quite a struggle for them to deal with Spirits whose power was as monstrous as a creature's.
Whenever a Spirit manifested and then disappeared back to the Neighboring World, the AST would claim a successful repelling, and the subjugation mission would be considered a perfect success.
After fighting for a while, Illustrious and Tohka had knocked down all the AST members.
Seeing Origami injured, Itsuka Shido immediately ran over to help her up, asking with concern, "Origami, are you okay?"
"I'm not dead! By the way, why are you here?" Origami asked in confusion.
"I should be the one saying that! Why are you here? And why are you dressed like a future soldier?" Itsuka Shido asked, thirsting for knowledge.
"Don't ask. I don't want you to step into this hidden world. You just need to be an ordinary high school student," Origami said, shaking her head.
Illustrious looked at Tohka with a nervous expression because Tohka's body was slowly turning into a phantom—a sign that a Spirit was disappearing and returning to the Neighboring World.
"Sister! It looks like it's time to say goodbye! Don't be sad. After the next manifestation, we'll definitely meet again. See you then!" Tohka put on a mature and steady front, but her tears betrayed her.
Illustrious pulled Tohka into a hug. "Say no more. I know you're in pain right now."
Feeling her sister's warmth, Tohka was even more reluctant to leave. They had only just reunited, yet they were being separated again. It was heartbreaking. Her tears kept falling, and she said with a sob, "Sister, you're so mean! Couldn't you just let me leave gracefully instead of making me leave all teary-eyed?"
"Stop with that nonsense. If you're reluctant, you're reluctant; if you're sad, you're sad. Why? Because we're family, and there's no need to hide it," Illustrious said, gently stroking Tohka's head.
"Sister, I really don't want to leave you!" Tohka spoke the truth from her heart.
Illustrious sighed, unsure of what to do about Tohka disappearing back to the Neighboring World. There was a way to keep Tohka in reality: using her ability to seal Spirits. However, to seal a Spirit, their affection level had to reach the level of 'love' or higher. She didn't know if Tohka had fallen in love with her, but she had to try; it might just work.
"Tohka! Actually, I have a way to let you stay in reality!" Illustrious said seriously.
"Really? What's the way?" Tohka immediately said with joy.
"That is... to KISS me," Illustrious said, blushing with embarrassment.
"What's a KISS?" Tohka asked with an innocent and pure look.
Looking at Tohka's innocent and pure face, Illustrious suddenly couldn't bear to ruin it. But thinking about how Tohka would disappear back to the Neighboring World in tears, Illustrious finally explained in detail, "Simply put, it's our lips touching. I'll be honest with you! I have the ability to seal Spirits, but it requires you to fall in love with me for it to work."
"So that's how it is. Then it's fine, because I've already fallen in love with you." Tohka leaned in and kissed Illustrious, their cherry lips meeting.
Seeing the sisters suddenly kiss, Itsuka Shido's face was full of shock.
Illustrious, while kissing Tohka, saw Itsuka Shido looking over and immediately gave him a look. The meaning of the look was: "Your wife is great!"
Itsuka Shido didn't understand what Illustrious's look meant. Was she mocking him for being a "single dog"?
