(I don't know how long I should make my chapters. If it's a very long chapter it's gonna be very intimidating to some. But if it's short it's gonna be boring too.)
They're finally here, and in the nick of time too. 2 hours and 45 minutes." Mandalay commented with an impressed smile as she witnessed Class 1-A walk out of the forest.
"Geez, that's wayyy better than every other batch we've gotten. What did you feed them, Eraser?" Pixie Bob asked.
"Motivation." Aizawa muttered. Pixie Bob laughed as she approached them. The whole class was dirty, their white uniforms now stains with brown color from the mud amd dirt, the same went to their faces.
"You really didn't hold back huh, Pixie Bob..." Kirishima muttered, wincing at the sore feeling in his body. "They just kept increasing. I think we faced up to 30 of them at one point."
"I think it was even more than that." Izuku whispered.
"Well, you can thank your sensei for giving me the green light on giving my all. You kids weren't that bad, your teamwork is insane despite only knowing each other for a couple of months." She commented. The amount of trust they had in each other's abilities, and having the communication and teamwork to be able to defeat each Earth Beast horde swiftly was remarkable to say the least.
"Well, we try..." Momo muttered, wishing she could go take a shower by now.
"There were some standouts obviously, but I'm guessing it was your past experiences that built you up like that?" Pixie Bob suddenly licked her lips as she pounced towards a certain group of boys, namely Sukuna, Izuku, Iida, Todoroki and Bakugo.
"I call dibs on these kittens! I'll groom them myself!!!" She declared. The boys only deadpanned at her before they all stepped aside, causing the older woman to pounce by them.
"She's definitely in the files." Todoroki commented as Pixie Bob started chasing after them.
"Can I blast her?" Bakugo growled in annoyance. Todoroki glanced at him.
"I didn't know you were into elder women, Bakugo."
"Not like that you bastard!!!" The rest of the class watched, deadpanning at the scene, not wanting to waste what was left of their energy fussing over the weirdness.
"Has she always been like this?" Aizawa questioned Mandalay, a little concerned and somewhat disturbed.
"It's gotten worse. She's just worried about being a spinster." Mandalay shrugged.
"I was just wondering..." Izuku raised his hand, as Pixie Bob paused for a moment to hear him out.
"Who's that boy and what's he doing here?" He asked, pointing at Kota.
"Oh, that's just my nephew." Mandalay glanced at the little boy. "Kota, say hello to them, they're going to be staying here for a week after all." Mandalay requested. Izuku, being the nice guy, went up to the brooding boy first.
"Hello, I'm Izuku from the UA Department of Heroes. It's really nice to me you—WOAH!" Izuku widened his eyes as Kota suddenly threw a punch, aiming at his private parts.
Thankfully, the green haired boy dodged in time. All the boys present in the area sighed in relief. If Izuku got hit, they all would've felt the pain with him.
"Hey! What's the big idea you fiend of a child?!" Iida shouted, appalled at the rudeness of the child. Kota scowled as he walked away.
"The last thing I want is to hang with some wannabe heroes." He stated, glaring back at them before walking away. Denki snorted in amusement, before he pointed his thumb at the kid.
"Get a load of this guy." He commented, not finding it threatening at all. Izuku sighed a little as he regrouped with his friends.
"That went well. At least I didn't get hit." He muttered. Aizawa clapped his hands once, gathering his students' attention.
"Alright, that's enough. Get your luggages from the bus and drop them off in your rooms. Then come to the mess hall for lunch. After that, you'll bathe and rest for the rest of the day. The real training starts tomorrow."
"Yeeessss sensei!"
...
"Don't expect this type of pampering everyday, okay? It's only for today. So eat as much as you can." Pixie Bob laughed a little as she looked at the students before her eating like wild animals.
After finishing dinner, Class 1-A went to the hot springs for a bath, one side for the boys and another side for the girls, which was divided by a wooden wall. Thankfully, Mineta restrained himself from trying anything. It seemed the warning Sukuna gave him some time ago had worked, and the current presence of him scared the crap out of him.
"What do you think they'll make us train in?" Todoroki questioned, as he and Sukuna laid back against the rocks, enjoying the hot water.
"Our Quirks, obviously. Maybe they'll add in some training that'll improve our physical abilities, seeing as there's a bunch of mountains here. And probably some rescue simulations and tons of activities stacked up so that we barely get any rest." Sukuna replied.
"Ah, so the usual then." Todoroki muttered, watching everyone goof around the hot springs.
"I have the sudden urge to use my Quirk." Denki commented.
"Please don't." Everyone there said in unison.
...
"That was sooo fun!" Mina cheered. She and the girls had just walked out of the hot springs, now wearing casual clothing.
"That Yamomo and Sukuna?" Toru commented, as they all saw Momo and Sukuna talking to each other in hushed voice, with Momo occasionally taking notes. Mina pouted as she stared.
"She's getting too close to him." Mina accused. Jiro side eyed her.
"Mina, she's like... a meter and a half away from each other." Mina huffed, placing her hands on her waist.
"Well she's a meter and a half too close!"
They watched as Sukuna nodded silently before he walked away from her. Momo sighed a little, before she saw Mina walking towards her.
"What were you guys talking about?" The pink girl asked.
'Absolutely, do not tell Mina. I don't think I need to explain why.' Momo remembered what Sukuna ordered.
"Oh, he was just suggesting we start a barbecue later on tonight." Momo lied to her face, using another truth to disguise the real truth.
"Wait really?!" Thankfully for Momo, Mina believed her, now having stars in her eyes.
"Yup, he was just telling me to create the grill. He's already prepared the meat and sausages." Momo nodded in response.
Jiro stared silently. 'That doesn't add up. Why the hell are they discussing about making barbecue like they were discussing a battle strategy?' She wondered. Was barbecue really that serious?
Jiro was right in her suspicions. In actuality, Sukuna and Momo were discussing whether or not the girl had created the reconnaissance drones, to which the girl already handled.
They were glider-style micro-drones designed for quiet observation, looking like mechanical dragonflies. She had several drones circle slowly at high altitude above the forest canopy.
Their job was pattern detection, detecting movement where there shouldn't be movement, heat signatures approaching from outside the camp and vehicles on remote roads.
As Momo walked away, with an excited Mina babbling away beside her. Jiro only stared at the black haired girl.
'Call me paranoid, but there's something she's hiding from us, though I don't have proof....'
....
"I just wanna see~... I just wanna see how, beautiful you are~ You know that I see it, I know you're a star~ Where you go I follow, no matter how far~ If life is a movie, then you're the best part~"
It was night time, Class 1-A sat near the campfire, holding a mini concert while the barbecue grill ran in the background. Jiro had brought her accoustic guitar, while the rest were singing.
"Man, she's beautiful..." Denki whispered as he watched Jiro from afar. He then looked at Sukuna flipping the meat on the grill while enjoying the music.
"You got any more?" Denki asked, holding out his plastic plate. Sukuna silently placed some sticks of meat on his plate. Denki walked away after thanking him.
"All clear so far." Momo whispered, approaching him with her own empty plate. Sukuna only nodded in silence.
"I don't think they'd attack on the first day. They'd wait for us to settle in, be exhausted from our own training. That's if they even attack at all." She continued.
"We'll still have the advantage with your drones. As soon as they come, their positions and numbers will be exposed."
"You don't think Shigaraki's going to be attacking with just Nomus, do you? Unless he has a stronger version of the one back at the USJ..."
"It's very possible that he has recruited new members. Stain's message caused a surge or villains and vigilantes after all." Sukuna glanced at her.
"Just keep watch. I don't believe we'll get through the week without the League trying something." He muttered, glancing at Izuku, Bakugo and Todoroki.
"Alright..." Momo muttered as she then found her plate filled with sticks of beef and chicken. She sighed.
"I still don't agree with... that...You can't seriously be considering this..." She muttered, finding it unsettling that he'd willingly sacrifice himself for the greater good. Sukuna stayed silent, his eyes on the grill as he placed more sticks of meat on it.
"It's just a possibility Momo, only a very high one. No need to get that worked up over it." He muttered.
"You're treating yourself like equipment—"
"To achieve an objective." Sukuna argued in return. Momo came from wealth and responsibility. She was taught leadership meant protecting the people under her, not using them as chess pieces.
And here Sukuna was, volunteering to become a chess piece. The class president proposing to sacrifice himself for intelligence.
"But still, the class cannot lose its own leader."
"A leader's purpose is to protect the group. I am merely taking action, and I want to see the end of the League of Villains." Sukuna replied. Momo narrowed her eyes. It was pure martyrdom, nothing more, but Sukuna's 'someone has to do it' logic was immovable.
So if the leader insists on taking the risk, she, the second-in-command, will transform this stupidly reckless idea into something structured.
"I already have the tracker worked out." She muttered, as they both watched the class singing along near the campfire. Sukuna silently listened, flipping the meat skillfully.
"It's a micro-encapsulated isotopic tracer embedded inside a tiny ceramic pellet. It's the size of a grain of rice, meaning that you can hide it almost anywhere." Momo explained.
"My clothing seams should do just fine. I'm not particularly interested in injecting something into myself. What will be in the isotope?"
"Inside will be a rare isotope marker, my own creation. It's not radioactive, but it's more like a chemical fingerprint. I'm still working on creating a specialized detector."
"But here's the thing, I'll create two trackers to put on you. One obvious decoy hidden somewhere the villains might reasonably discover, say inside a belt seam. If the League finds it, they'll think they solved the problem, then hopefully they would let their guard down." Sukuna smirked a little as she went on.
"But the real one is the microscopic tracker I mentioned just now, tucked into something mundane like your boot sole or stitched in your shirt collar. If your imaginary scenario does happen, we may lose the battle at first, but the war will be won with your sacrifice."
Sukuna nodded silently, impressed with Momo's reasoning. Momo silently walked away, rejoining her friends. But Mina was silently staring at them, suspicion in her eyes as she just watched them whisper with each other.
What were they discussing about?
To be continued.....
