The marksman division was divided into two parts according to Kurt's ' method ' of training ; the scouts and the blades which were meant to be assassins but from Lily explanations Kurt hardly used the word for unknown reasons .
Lily had given him a tour of the training facility , he didn't expect much until he started seeing how small but enormous the place seemed to be , it only comprised of the training hall and the drill field which he was surprised to find out that it was fake and just a subspace created by a powerful caster for their use .
It took a little longer than he would normally for him to settle down properly into the division , it had a friendly environment that seemed attractive and accommodating in contrast to the first batch who were somewhat unfriendly and a bit wary .
Several weeks has passed and Ash had somehow made a name in the division as ' baby steps ' a name he vehemently rejected but was still called till this day which wasn't going too well for him having missed three shots in a row " you have to relax your arm , you are being too tense " a voice said in a calm tone verry much close to his ears and he couldn't help but curse in his heart .
Since Lily had volunteered to teach him his life hadn't been going too smoothly to say the least , at this time they were training his archery skills which was too good , he needed to learn a range weapon according to the training scheme and he picked a sniper but was immediately turned down citing reasons such as ' your body is too weak to handle one ' and had to learn archery .
' I wouldn't be tense if you weren't so close ' Ash wanted to complain since she was too close pressing her body against his making him feel things he wasn't but couldn't since he knows that she would still use it to tease him in the end .
He took a deep breath and nocked the bow ready for another shot " still waters , clear mind " he muttered under his breath continuously as he aimed at the target , he tried his best to ignore Lily putting all his attention on the target , just as he got ready to release the string " BOO" Lilies voice sounded in his ears followed by her warm breath causing a shift that made him miss entirely sending the arrow to another direction .
" do know that of all my problems , you are the biggest one I have " Ash said in a tone that meant to show how angry he was but the tone of his voice betrayed him sounding shy and his face was too flushed , he found himself feeling odd , Lily on the other hand was laughing her heart out " I don't know how you always seem to be very easy to tease " Lily said wiping tears from her eyes .
" it should be obvious that you are one of the biggest reason the kid can't learn " a boy who sat not too far from them said giving Ash both an envious and sorry look since he knew that Ash wasn't really going to be able to learn archery at the rate they were going .
His name happened to be Tian , he was also part of the Marksman division under the blades section a very calm guy with zero concern whatsoever , he coincidentally happened to the same guy being trashed around by a fellow soldier when Ash first arrived and became acquaintance with Ash who met him asking him to teach him how to fight with a dagger .
Lily on her part was against him teaching Ash since he was known as the worst blade but Ash persisted claiming that he knew what he was doing " its my time let me enjoy it ..... or are you jealous that you are not in his position ?" Lily asked with a sweet tone still holding onto him " no I'm good where I am ...…. Adding you to what I'm going through is suicide " Tian replied tiredly lying on the field not moving any muscle .
Training as a blade according to Tian was a lot of work and anytime they met he was utterly exhausted , the blades training were very similar to the scouts but were totally different since they had to focus more on hand to hand combat and swift executions while the scouts were trained with finding , tracking and engaging target at longer and larger range .
People like Lily and Ash belonged to the scouts sections so their were taught to be able to find and track prey and enemies without coming close or in contact with the enemies while the blades such as Tian are trained to find , track and eliminate enemies usually having it done in close combat . not everyone in the blade section learns tracking only the swift blades making the Markman having more ' assassins ' than scouts .
Tian on his part didn't have such luxury for picking what he wanted to learn or not , learning everything that he could the main reason being Lily who added it as an option for him to be able to teach Ash and at the same time be under her protection from his ' problems ' as she had quite the influence and being under her meant that he wasn't going to be harassed by anyone .
" how was training today ? " Lily asked after a few back and forth between the both of them at this time Ash had gained his freedom and now was taking shots that were too on target but good enough for a beginner . Tian turned quiet for a while looking straight at the sky not giving a reply , the silence stretched for a long while before Lily decided to speak before it turns awkward " I heard that we might be having our first real gate raid soon , and I'm very worried "
