Chapter 35
After hours of studying, I finally dropped my pen and leaned back.
. "Finally done!" I exclaimed, unable to hide my excitement.
Jimin and Yoongi placed their notebooks down at the same time, their eyes lifting toward me. For a brief moment, their gazes met.
The air shifted.
Jimin looked away first.
Punks.
I grabbed my phone and opened Facebook, scrolling mindlessly. Suddenly, a cold drop of water splashed onto my screen.
"Wait...what?" I murmured, lifting my head toward the sky.
Dark blue clouds had swallowed the sunlight, heavy and threatening.
"But didn't they say it wouldn't rain until tomorrow afternoon?" Minju said, her index finger hovering over the weather app.
"Don't trust those things," Jimin muttered.
Before I could respond, the convenience store owner hurried over, stuffing items back onto the shelves.
"Please, you all need to leave," he said
urgently.
"We really should go...now," Yoongi
added, glancing at the sky.
"Let's go to my house," I said without thinking.
It was the closest one.
At least… closest for everyone else.
For me, it suddenly felt miles away.
We hurriedly packed our books and pens, slipping a few notebooks under our jackets to protect them.
"Oh...okay," Minju nodded.
I took off running, the others right behind me.
"Walk faster!" I shouted over my shoulder.
Jimin was already ahead, probably because he knew my house better than I did.
Yoongi ran beside me, his pace quickening.
"Yah....yah!" I laughed breathlessly, turning back and pushing him forward.
He giggled.

Without thinking, I grabbed his hand.
And we ran together.
The rain came down harder, soaking us to the bone. By the time we reached my house, we were drenched, hair plastered to our faces, clothes clinging uncomfortably.
Jimin arrived just behind us.
He stared at me.
I followed his gaze and realized I was still holding Yoongi's hand.
My heart skipped.
I quickly pulled away.
Yoongi looked at me, something unreadable flickering in his eyes.
I dropped onto the steps, gasping for breath.
Then.....
"Ahhh!" I suddenly stood up.
My heart sank.
"I left my keys at the convenience store."
Everyone froze.
"I need to go back," I said, shoving my books into Minju's arms.
"I'll come with you," Yoongi said immediately.
"So will I," Jimin added at the same time.
My eyes flickered between them.
The rain poured harder.
My chest tightened.
Who do I choose?
