Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 : Prime minister's shield wife 2

Just then, she heard voices from her maids.

"She really deserves it. She really thought that just because she married, she would become a phoenix."

"You're right. She's just stupid. Who does she think she is to mess with the young miss?"

"Leave her be. Now it's good—we don't need to take care of her anymore."

"She's just a stupid woman that nobody cares about."

Hearing this, she understood clearly. These servants never treated her as their master.

After all, their indenture contracts were still in her stepmother's hands.

From this, Riya already understood that she was not favoured in her marital family. That was why she had been bullied so badly and had died so tragically.

The original owner tolerated everything, but Riya would not.

Tomorrow, she would send these servants back. She didn't need these so-called "big Buddhas" around her—people who only followed orders while looking down on her and speaking sarcastically.

As expected, when dinner time came, no one brought her food.

If this were the original body, she might have suffered. But not her.

She had a cheat—her own personal space.

Inside this space, she had stored things from different worlds she had been to before. So she casually took out a simple plate from the space. It contained two vegetable dishes, dal, rice, and roti.

She was a vegetarian anyway. Even if they had sent food, she wouldn't have been able to eat it.

She enjoyed her food happily and then lay down to rest.

At the same time, in the Prime Minister's courtyard, he was still coaxing his daughter to eat.

"Daughter, don't worry. No one will dare to do this to you again."

His daughter, with her pitiful figure and innocent face, looked at her father in admiration.

"Really, Father? You are great."

But then her expression fell, and she spoke softly, "Because of me, you and Mother argued. Will the new mother not like me anymore?"

His face softened. "No way. She wouldn't dare. Don't worry." He patted her head. "You don't need to care about her. No one will shake your position."

"But I heard that after you have a new son, you would change my brother's position," his daughter said cautiously, watching her father's expression. Inside, she was terrified. After all, this was her father's personal matter. How could a daughter interfere? But she had no choice.

Prime Minister Yu was stunned. His face turned ugly.

"Who said that?"

She darted her eyes, her voice trembling. "No… nobody."

Seeing his daughter's frightened face, he controlled his anger and said, "Don't worry. I already gave her pregnancy-prevention medicine."

He didn't want to tell his daughter such things, but to stop her from worrying and affecting her health, he still said it.

Lady Yu was stunned. She never thought her father could be this ruthless. But since it was in her favor, she was happy. Here, Riya heard the entire conversation between father and daughter and was dumbfounded.

According to the original owner's memories, Prime Minister Yu used her infertility as an excuse to divorce her and send her to the temple.

Now Riya realised the truth.

So it was all done by them.

Riya was speechless. How could they be so shameless? Self-righteous people asking for divorce while secretly drugging her—trash, all of them, she thought.

Good thing she had robot bees for reconnaissance and had already sent them to monitor the mansion.

The next day, Riya got ready to do the morning greetings to her mother-in-law.

She called her maid and told her to get ready.

Hearing this, the head maid looked at her in surprise. Before today, Riya used to do everything herself and even tried to please them. So what happened now? The maid couldn't understand.

Riya didn't care and said impatiently,

"What are you standing there for? Come help me."

Realising Riya was talking to her, the maid's face turned green and white. She said angrily,

"Who do you think you are? How dare you talk to me like this?"

"Your master," Riya replied expressionlessly. "Now do what a servant should do."

Riya was already irritated. Waking up so early was bad enough—now she had to deal with this arrogant maid.

"What? You want me to serve you?" the maid sneered, lifting her chin and looking down on her. "Don't forget, I am Madam's maid. I'll tell Madam about this."

She was obviously referring to her stepmother. Riya didn't care.

Riya looked at her coldly and said,

"If you don't want to be beaten by the mansion guards, do your work."

"You are not in Madam's house, but in the Prime Minister's house."

Seeing her sharp eyes, a cold sweat broke out on the maid's back. She quickly started helping.

Riya nodded in satisfaction.

She went out dressed in heavy attire, still not used to it. She didn't understand why, in this house, she had to dress like this.

In reality, she was Indian, and most of the hosts she had possessed before were from Chinese backgrounds. At first, the cultural differences, even the language, were difficult for her.

At least for the language, she had a translator. But everything else, she had to manage by herself.

By the time she arrived at the Old Madam's courtyard, Minister Yu and his concubines had also arrived.

Yes, he still had concubines. Some were given by his mother, some were taken before his marriage. He told people he only loved his wife, yet he still kept concubines.

Baaa… trash, she thought.

Today, her main purpose was to return the hot potato—household management power—to the Old Madam.

She only wanted to eat and lie down. How could she handle such a thankless task? It was tiring and attracted hatred from everywhere. Even after working so hard, she was still scolded. So whoever wanted to manage it could manage it she didn't want it.

Just then, the Old Madam looked at her with dissatisfaction.

"How could you do this to Lady Yu and give her bad food? You should treat her like your own daughter."

Riya was speechless.

Ha. She still dared to say that.

Did she not feel even a bit of shame?
