I stayed in the hospital for a week before being discharged. My injuries were mostly healed which surprised even the doctors.
Doctor Sam commented as she examined me for the last time, "For someone without a wolf, you heal pretty fast."
I couldn't possibly tell her that I had a wolf, right? That would be a disaster. So, I made up an excuse.
"After suffering from different degrees of injuries over the years, my body has adapted and learned to repair itself. It isn't every time I am injured that I get to visit the hospital."
Of course she didn't believe me completely but she had no other choice. There wasn't a better explanation for how fast my injuries had healed.
"Rest for two more days when you go back to facilitate complete healing." Doctor Sam advised but I knew that the advice wasn't going to be followed.
The moment I walked back into the pack house, I would be assigned more duties. I wanted to know if the alpha ascension ceremony had taken place as scheduled.
