Chapter 715 - Chapter 716: Loss

"You must have already sensed it, your divine power has lost its anchor, and death is only a matter of time…" Hela, upon arriving before Odin, unexpectedly did not immediately attack. With a cold expression, she asked, "So, at the end of your life, what do you wish to say?"

After Hela was freed, she first went to Asgard before coming to Earth, and used her power to steal the divine authority there.

This meant that Odin, having lost control of his "Divine Realm," was no longer the All-Father in a strict sense.

And without the nurturing power of Asgard's divine realm, even with the protection of Norway, the land of the gods, Odin, whose life was reaching its end and who was riddled with old injuries, now had his life countdown measured in days.

Losing his Divine Realm was like the last straw on the camel's back.

Looking at such an aged Odin, Hela, while filled with anger, also held a hint of unnoticed anticipation deep in her eyes.

She seemed to be expecting him to repent.

"Please be kind to Asgard and its people, after all, it is where you were born and grew up…" Having experienced so much, Odin had calmly accepted his death. In his final moments, he pleaded with his eldest daughter, "And, Thor and Loki are your brothers no matter what; please spare them."

"As for your hatred, I can repay you with my life."

Hela, who had seized Asgard's divine authority, had undoubtedly become its new "All-Father."

This was something even Odin could not change.

With things having reached this point, Odin only hoped to appease Hela's wrath with his own death.

He wished to prevent her from extending her anger to other innocent people.

"Is that your last wish?" Hela was unmoved.

Thousands of years of hatred were not so easily quelled.

"Yes, my life has been sufficiently grand. If there is anything I regret, it is that I sealed you, a hero of the gods, out of fear of your power back then…" Odin finally admitted his mistake, saying, "Now, it is time for me to pay for the mistakes I made."

At the same time, numerous specks of light emanated from Odin, and as his divine power dissipated, his body gradually became ethereal.

Clearly, he chose to end his life actively in front of his eldest daughter.

"No!"

Watching his father's life ebb away, Thor shouted and rushed forward, wanting to stop him.

However, this irreversible death could not be halted by Thor's current strength.

As Odin's form became increasingly ethereal, Loki, the God of Mischief, also displayed a sorrowful expression.

"Stop, Thor, and Loki. After I die, do not resent your elder sister…" Odin showed one last gentle smile.

Then, his body, along with his divine power, dissipated into nothingness.

"Did he not forget his fatherly duty at the very end?" Hela, her great revenge accomplished, looked at Odin's fading figure and suddenly felt a profound lack of interest.

A complex emotion flashed across her face, and she turned to leave.

"Stop, you can't go!" Thor, in his grief, suddenly looked up, his eyes bloodshot, staring at Hela.

In his view, she had forced his father to die.

This grudge could not be left unsettled.

"Oh? You wish to strike me?" Hela paused, and when she turned, her face was only filled with coldness. "You, who grew up in a greenhouse, will not be my opponent."

Hela, despite her immense power, was sealed away, while this young Thor was protected and allowed to grow, even being groomed as the heir to the All-Father.

As children of Odin, this was undoubtedly differential treatment.

Under these circumstances, it was impossible for Hela to have no grievances against Thor.

"Whether I am an opponent or not, we'll only know after we fight!" Thor, his eyes already clouded by hatred, raised Mjolnir and shouted, "Today, you must pay for Father's death!"

If you disagree, fight – this perfectly matched Thor's impulsive style.

As for the power difference, it was not within his consideration.

"Come, let me see if you, the heir to the All-Father, have improved after thousands of years." Hela conjured weapons in her hands, ready for battle.

Or rather, Thor's provocation played right into her hands.

For Hela now, teaching her unworthy younger brother a lesson was a rather delightful thing.

"Die!!!"

Thor, who could no longer wait, roared and forcefully threw Mjolnir.

Mjolnir, imbued with the power of thunder, flew across the grass, stirring up a hurricane.

Its target was Hela.

"External power is external power after all…" Hela, seeing that Thor's true strength was not formidable, dispelled the weapons in her hands, then casually reached out a hand and caught the incoming Mjolnir.

The power of thunder was suppressed by dark energy.

Mjolnir, which carried Thor's hopes, became unremarkable in Hela's hand.

"How is this possible?" Thor watched this scene in astonishment, even forgetting to continue his attack.

"You're still far too weak. It seems Odin's judgment in choosing an heir was not good…" Hela scoffed, then slowly tightened her grip.

Amidst the ear-splitting crackle of thunder, Mjolnir was crushed into fragments.

"Impossible!"

As the fragments of Mjolnir scattered to the ground, Thor himself seemed to lose his soul, collapsing weakly onto the grass.

It was well known that Thor was also called the God of Hammers.

Losing Mjolnir was a huge blow to him.

"Heh, the power of the gods is not reliant on weapons!" Seemingly bored, Hela shook her head and turned to leave again.

It was as if crushing Mjolnir was a trivial matter of no consequence… "Thor, what happened? Are you alright?" Not long after Hela left, Jane, who had rushed over upon hearing the commotion, saw Thor slumped on the ground, distraught.

As Thor's girlfriend, Jane had also come to live in Norway a while ago.

She had originally intended to mend her relationship with Thor.

After all, during the war when the Dark Elves invaded Asgard, Queen Frigga had died at the hands of the Elven King while protecting Jane.

Jane had always felt guilty about this.

And for the same reason, Thor's attitude towards Jane had grown cold.

Although they still maintained their nominal boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, and Jane had even proactively lowered her stance to follow him to Norway.

In truth, they had barely communicated during this time.

They had become the most familiar of strangers.

Facing Jane's concern, Thor, who was in a state of grief and existential doubt, remained with his head bowed, as if he hadn't heard her.

"He needs to calm down now…" Loki, out of sympathy for the woman, briefly explained Thor's recent ordeal to her.

As a brother, Loki could actually be quite thoughtful at times.

"Everything will be alright…" After hearing about Thor's experience, Jane became even more worried.

Overwhelmed with maternal instincts, she was about to go forward and give Thor a hug.

"Asgard is in trouble, we must stop her…" Thor suddenly stood up, seemingly having thought of something, and said, "Loki, we don't have much time."

As the Bifrost was summoned, Thor and Loki's figures instantly vanished from the Norwegian grassland.

They were clearly returning to Asgard's divine realm to stop Hela.

Jane, meanwhile, was left behind by Thor, like a transparent person.

"Thor…"

Being ignored by her boyfriend left Jane feeling somewhat at a loss.

Although they hadn't yet officially broken up, Thor's attitude had made everything clear.

"What happened here?" Just then, Stephen emerged from a portal.

And he smelled a faint trace of dark energy in the air.

"Has another Demon God descended?" Stephen, after looking around and finding no clues, turned his gaze to the only woman present.

"You're a sorcerer? Thor and the others need help now!" Jane, who had already collected all the fragments of Mjolnir, also looked at the mysterious Stephen…
