Robellia decided to sleep in Genevieve's room that night. When morning came, they got ready and headed off to the kitchen. Today, they had to prepare snacks for the crown prince and his brother, who were going horseback riding. After all the baking and cooking, they finally went to have lunch in the cafeteria. "May I have a seat?" Robellia looked up to see Felix standing before her. "Sure." Felix sat next to her. "How rude of me. Good afternoon, ladies." "Good afternoon." Genevieve responded, "You look terrible. You must not be handling that breakup well..... shit, Liya!" Genevieve whined as Robellia stepped on her foot to keep her quiet. Felix smiled, "Well, yes, gen. as you can see, I'm not taking the breakup quite well. Do you perhaps propose a solution?"
Genevieve rolled her eyes, "Uhhh! I have a boyfriend, so please stay away, Mr." she playfully teased him. Felix sighed; he was used to Genevieve's rude yet playful nature. She somehow had no filter when talking to him. " It's the first time I've seen you have lunch at the cafeteria." "Well, get used to the changes. My lunch hideout has been compromised." Robellia answered. "well am grateful to the compromiser. Now I get to spend time with you during lunch." Robellia smiled, "Are you serious right now? We've talked about this." "It's just lunch, Liya. Don't make such a huge deal about this." Robellia chuckled, "If you say so."
After lunch, they headed back to the kitchen. It was evening when Genevieve handed Robellia a small basket. "Could you help me deliver these to Felix?" Robellia eyed Genevieve suspisiously. " Don't worry, it's nothing like that. They've been going through a rough time lately, and so I just thought all this food would have gone to waste. I would have gone on my own, but the chef has doubts about me already. he wouldn't suspect you." Genevieve defended herself. Robellia sighed and agreed. She walked out of the kitchen and headed out to the stables. She found him brushing the mane of the dark stallion he called Knight. She knocked into a post," Hey."
Felix smiled, "Hey." "I brought you something," she said, showing him the basket. "She told you. Didn't she?" Robellia sighed, "Oh yes, she did, but am dissapointed to get to know this from her and not you. You know you can still tell me your problems, Felix. We are friends." Felix put away his brush and apron before taking off his gloves. "Liya. Things are complicated between us, and you know that. Though you say we are friends, you know that's not how I feel about you." Robellia felt guilty," I know that, but things can't always be like this." "No, they can't, Liya." He moved over towards her, tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. "We could go back to the way things were between us," and for a moment, Robellia was actually thinking of saying yes.
"Pardon me. I seem to be intruding." They both turned to the entrance of the stable. Robellia froze whilst Felix immediately bowed. "Your highness." Robellia didn't know whether to run or hide. Felix quickly nudged her to bow. Robellia woke up from her daze. "Your Highness." She bowed. When she looked back up, his eyes were on her. She could hear her heart racing. The way he looked into her eyes was overbearing yet with a mix of familiarity. Did he recognize her? "Stable boy, I've come to return the horses," he said it without looking away from Robellia. Felix looked at both of them. He didn't like the way Maximus was looking at his Liya. Yes, he knew Robellia was quite beautiful, but why was she also looking at the prince like that? It wasn't just a look of amazement. It seemed deeper.
Robellia looked away from Maximus and turned to Felix."I think I should go. Gen must be waiting. Do send my greetings to mother and Anna." She put down the basket somewhere clean and went for the exit. She bowed before rushing past him. Maximus grinned as he looked at her running figure. oh! Run, little bunny. Felix took the horses that Maximus had brought along. "What is your relation to the young lady?" Maximus finally asked. Felix saw an opportunity to mark his territory. By the look on Maximus' face, he knew this was not going to end well. "She is my betrothed. Your Highness. We are to be married soon." Maximus leaned elegantly against the doorpost with a grin. "Is that so? Pardon me, but from what I overheard just a moment ago. It seemed you were trying to woo her again, or perhaps I am mistaken." Felix smiled. "Well, no offense, your highness, but she was about to say yes to my proposal. If you hadn't intervened," Maximus scoffed, "by the look on her face just a moment ago, I'd say that yes died down." Saying that, he left. When Maximus stepped out, his right-hand man, Liam, was waiting for him by the corner," information on that stableboy on at sunrise and a reason as to why those responsible for taking care of her didn't involve him in the reports."
Meanwhile, Robellia ran back to the kitchen. Genevieve was waiting for her outside."Goodness, Liya. Why are you running? What happened?" "First, it was him, and I was about to say yes. Then he came, and I swear my heart stopped for an entire second. He was all I could see. The way he looked at me, gen. it was as though he recognized me, but he didn't say a word to me. He probably doesn't remember me. Everything was just too much," Robellia said as she was out of breath. "Liya, breathe. Now tell me what happened. Who are these hims and hes?"
