Chapter 68 - SURVIVAL 20: POINT OF VIEWS part 4

"Let the worst me be unleashed"

SECTWEN'S / NADINE TARRIS' POV

Duh? Now I kind of understand this bullsh*t. Anyway, I'm glad my memories came back, but at the same time, I'm miserable because I already know my purpose in the game and why I should be the winner.

In the past few days that we've stayed here, I have been known for being conceited and unwavering. Now I know who the real Sectwen is, or shall I say... Nadine. Yup, that's my freakin' name, folks! And my surname is Tarris. And that's not all I knew about myself. I'm Nadine Tarris, a sweet 16, a 10th-grade student of Royal Mayne Academy. You'll think I'm the queen bee of the whole grade 10. In short, I'm the b*tch of all b*tches because of my attitude that none can stand. I don't care about what others think of me as long as I'm doing great. I'm an only child. I lived with a happy family until my mother betrayed us. She remarried into a goon. Instead of having no siblings, I instantly have three sh*tlings. Siblings that I didn't even consider and treated like one. The moment my mother left us, my only parent and relative was my Papa. They got separated when I was 10. My mother went to her brand-new family while my father took care of me.

We would have had a simple and peaceful life, but Papa's job got in trouble. He was fired because his boss accused him of a crime he did not commit. I have complete trust in Papa, so he didn't do that. Papa has already planned that I will finish junior high and go to public school in grade 11. I don't mind as long as Papa and I are happy. A series of misfortunes struck us after my parents separated.

This is why I hate bossy people, because of my Papa's boss. Over a trivial mistake, he made a fuss out of it and blamed Papa for something he must've been framed for. They are so full of themselves, bossing people around and trampling those who are inferior to them.

That's right, I hated the fatso leader and the four-eyed leader that we had. They get on my nerves whenever they command us on what to do and not what not to do. But what I hate the most is the intangible screen named, Author. How bold of that screen to manipulate our fate, leaving us in ruins. I loathed that thing ever since, but I'm suppressing my anger because that screen has given me this chance to redo my life.

And now, the only person I trusted and loved the most is away from me.

"Nads, don't cry, okay? Papa will be back. Your aunts and uncles are there to take care of you. Be a good girl, okay?"

I just kept crying and knelt in front of Papa while he was handcuffed and picked up by the police.

"But Papa, it's hard without you."

Dad also knelt and lifted my face. "Nads, Papa will be out soon because I'm not at fault. I'll be back and be with you. Just for the meantime, be strong, huh? Be strong like Papa."

I cried harder and embraced him.

"P-Promise?"

"I won't promise," I was confused at what he said, so I peered at his face, and Papa smiled.

"W-What?!"

"I won't promise because there's a saying, 'Promises are meant to be broken. That's why..." he pinched my right cheek. "I swear." And he touched his chest and signed across to his heart—a symbol that he means what he said, and he will make it happen. He smiled again.

And that's where my dramatic flashback ends. Because of what Papa said, I became a good girl who no longer bullies the weaklings at school. More like I'm the one who is now getting bullied after the news spread around the campus that my Papa was accused of something he didn't do. They took it as an advantage to get back at me for what I did to them. Look how fast the tables have turned. My former underlings turned away and tricked me. I am always beaten up and slandered back and forth because of the rumors about Papa. I became an invisible student, pretending that I did not exist in this unfair world.

I don't care about anyone else as long as I have Papa because he loves me, and we believe in each other. When he promises something to me, I draw strength because I know he will keep it. He won't leave me, unlike my mother. He will always be with me. And when I have Papa, I have everything. If I lose him, I have nothing. I almost lost my Papa, so I almost have nothing with me. Their bullying acts had no severe effect on me. I don't feel sorry anymore after Papa lost his consciousness because he got mentally ill after those false claims. He almost killed himself—or shall I say those people made him almost kill himself! They are the real criminals! My Papa doesn't deserve my mother, his lousy boss at work, his toxic relatives, his traitor friends, our gossip neighbors, and the media that spread hoaxes! My innocent Papa never deserved to be in this cruel world.

Because of the memories that came back, I already know who I am. Let the worst me be unleashed. I showed my harsh attitude like a cat, but after this game starts, they'll now witness a vicious tigress.

I will be the winner. I will create a world that my Papa and I want to be. A world where my mother doesn't exist, my sh*tlings were never born, our relatives begged us to help them, my Papa's boss was sent to prison instead, and my bullies are deaf and mute. I would have used the time to make my parents live and love each other again, so the series of misfortunes wouldn't have happened. But I would not want that.

THIRD-PERSON'S POV

The inside of the glass tube was still emitting white smoke. After a while, she felt dizzy again. Second kept her eyes closed, and her surroundings became dark. When she opened her eyes, she realized she was standing. How that happened, she had no idea. She was standing on concrete, but what worried her was why she couldn't see anything in this extreme darkness. She didn't move much or leave the seat area because she might stumble. If she were somewhere else, wouldn't this be the robot's so-called 'teleport'?

Recently, she had been inside a glass tube, bound and asleep. When she woke up, she was standing in a dark place. Fear and nervousness overwhelmed her again because she didn't know what would happen next. Everything in this world was unpredictable after all.

After a few minutes of groping, her breathing slowed as the whole area lit up, dazzling her. She slowly lowered her hand, and her eyes widened at the sight. In the bright and wide surroundings where she lay, Fourth, Aeith, Sixzen, Aeizen, Sectwen, and she were there. The six girls playing as characters inside the game were all present. Maybe the six boys who would be the players were in the control room where they would control them. She hoped First was okay.

Second scanned the surroundings. This place was round and had six gray metal doors circling it. It seems like the doors of an elevator. The glass tubes where they had lain were at the center.

What would it be this time?

She assumed this was going to be another extreme elevator ride, wasn't it?
