Chapter 1 - Chapter-1, Paimon.

"Aether!"

"Lumine!"

I screamed as my sister was swiftly devoured by space constructs.

After dodging the assault of the unknown god, that stopped us from leaving this world, I gathered all my powers on hand and struck as hard as I could.

Dust scattered around, but when they subsided, my heart was filled with dread.

Even after all the power I used, it didn't even leave a scratch. I knew my powers were still a shell, but it would be this weak definitely wasn't what I could've imagined.

As the same constructs that devoured my sister bean to consume me, I thought bitterly.

'this isn't suppose to go like this. We just wake up, and our journey was still incomplete. We still need to find a place to call a 'home'."

Strangely enough, at the end of my life, I couldn't recall all of our adventures. The countless worlds, places, planets and moons that I thought we had travelled to didn't come to my mind.

Is it really the last time I would see her? No it can't be!

"Give my sister back!"

I shouted while looking at the indifferent gaze of the unknown deity. As my vision faded into darkness, I only hoped, and wished to see my siste- no, to see Lumine again.

I opened my eyes, darkness of the night surrounding me.

"What happened?" A gentle voice asked, tinged with worry.

"Another nightmare?" The gentle voice asked.

"Yeah..." I replied as she lit up the camp again and brought some water.

"Drink this. God knowns when these nightmares would stop."

"Thanks Paimon."

As the radiant glow of the burning flames illuminated her figure, I witnessed the pale skin and white hair like pure milk. Her black eyes were like the night sky and her lips a shade of light pink.

We're the same height, she wore a pretty white dress that reminds me of one of Lumine's old dresses.

I don't understands women's dressing or why they need so many. I've barely had half the number of outfits as Lumine, nope, wasn't even close.

She look similar to the age of my current physique. Though, I doubt I've ever grown up since I was born.

But I was surprised and fascinated by the long scarf she wears, a scarf that seems as infinite as the galaxy, like the night sky holding the endless space in itself.

But the amazing thing is that she also has a pale pink crown floating right above her head, and it follows her in every movement.

Sometime it feels like she is a deity or an angel of some sort. Maybe she is since she has lost most of her personal memories since I 'fished' her out.

"Hey? Why are you smiling all of a sudden?" Paimon asked, looking at my expression.

"Nothing much." I said and stared at her face.

She blushed, "H-hey! Stop looking at me like that!"

I know why she behaved like this.

"Paimon..."

"What?"

"I need to leave." I finally said. I've stalled my journey for 2 months already, and now it was time to kept going.

I cannot delay my search for Lumine, and I cannot stay in this sea shore forever.

Paimon looked at me, her eyes and expression clearly showing hurt and conflict.

Both of us know that we cannot stay together forever. Why? Cause we don't any excuse or simply reason to stay together.

We were not a couple, nor were we family. We can be called be friends, but friends of opposite gender don't travel together other than official work and only for a limited time, let alone the unknown amount of time I might need to travel.

Her hands trembled before she clenched them and looked at me, asking in a pleading tone, "Can you d-delay it, o-only for a week?"

She looked so vulnerable, like if I refuse she would break immediately. This face has become a weakness for me over time.

I sighed, agreeing, "Okay, but after a week, I'll leave."

"Really!!?"

"Yeah.."

She hugged me, her warmth giving off a sense of joy.

"It's midnight, let's sleep." I said and laid back on my makeshift bed and closed my eyes.

I drifted into sleep while feeling a gentle gaze upon me.

Waking up from my sleep, I looked around to find no one. 'maybe she went out to collect some fruits.' I thought.

After that, I sat on a big rock holding my fishing rod.

The days are going pretty peacefully, too bad it would only last for a week.

I caught two to three fish by the time it was 11:59. But right at 12:00, I felt like I heard a few whispers.

World is fulfilled while heart is not,

Mind is filled with your memories.

Mere gods and demons don't know their place,

Everything is but the game of Fate.

I want Freedom to follow my desire,

I don't want to be bound by Contracts,

I want Eternity with my dear,

I want Wisdom that makes them true,

I want Justice the world couldn't give,

I will wage War if I have to,

All for the sake of My Love.

May the heavens kneel,

May our fates forever stay together,

Oh Heavens, Oh Fate,

Please fulfill my lifeless Desire.

Suddenly, as soon as the whispers stopped, I heard a clear sound, like a notification sound from a phone.

[Ding~]
