Jay's POV
I was happy that Grace and the baby were fine.
The baby's name is Grazel Jay.
Keifer and I decided that we would visit them this weekend.
I was waiting for him to come so we could go to school together.
"Jay."
Kuya's voice came from behind.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Let's go. I'll drop you off," he said.
Shit.
I forgot to tell him that I was going with Keifer.
"Ah... no need, Kuya. I'll manage," I said.
He just gave me a glare.
I quietly nodded and got into the car.
I took out my phone and quickly texted Keifer.

Kuya said he'll drop me at school... Sorry. Meet me at school. Bye, love you. ❤️😚😚

I smiled while reading his message.
"Why are you smiling?" Kuya asked.
"O-Oh... nothing," I replied.
He nodded and started driving.
Halfway to school, my phone suddenly buzzed.
Yuri?
"Hel-"
He cut himself off.
"Keif... help... someone's here..."
The call ended.
I frowned in confusion and immediately called him back, but his phone was already switched off.
Weirdo.
"What happened?" Kuya asked.
"I don't know. Yuri called me and said, 'Keif... help... someone's here,' then the call got disconnected."
Kuya frowned.
He looked into the rearview mirror before suddenly speeding up.
"What happened, Kuya?"
"Nothing."
A few minutes later, I noticed we had taken a different route.
"Kuya..."
I stopped speaking when I realized where we were.
We were in front of Yuri's building.
"Kuya... why are we here?"
He looked outside and sighed.
"Oh... I forgot this is the way to Yuri's hotel. I accidentally came this way."
I narrowed my eyes.
"Kuya, since we're already here, let's check on Yuri. He asked for help."
"But he was asking for Keifer."
I gave him my best puppy eyes.
He sighed.
"...Fine."
I smiled brightly and got out of the car.
Before following me, Kuya opened the glove compartment and quietly slipped something into his pocket.
I couldn't see what it was.
The moment we reached Yuri's floor...
Something felt wrong.
Broken chairs.
Shattered flower vases.
Furniture scattered everywhere.
This wasn't how Yuri's place usually looked.
I slowly stepped inside.
Suddenly-
"Aah!"
A scream echoed through the condo.
"Yuri!"
Kuya and I ran toward the sound.
Yuri was fighting with several men.
Without hesitation, Kuya rushed in and joined the fight.
Meanwhile, I quickly stepped back and dialed Keifer's number.
"Baby... please come to Yuri's place. Someth-"
Before I could finish, someone snatched my phone away.
"What the-"
I turned around and saw a girl wearing a mask.
She grabbed my wrist tightly.
"Who are you?" she demanded.
"A girl," I answered.
I tried pulling my hand away, but she tightened her grip.
"Leave me!"
I grabbed her hair.
She immediately let go of my wrist and grabbed mine.
"You bitch!"
I pulled harder.
She pulled harder too.
Soon, we were both yanking each other's hair without saying another word.
Then-
Bang!
A gunshot echoed through the room.
Everything went silent.
Kuya?
Yuri?
Both of us immediately let go of each other's hair and rushed toward the room.
Two or three men were lying unconscious on the floor.
Kuya and Yuri were standing there...
Both holding guns.
"Kuya...? Yuri...?"
Before anyone could answer...
Yuri suddenly held his head.
He collapsed onto the floor.
"Yuri!"
The masked girl and I hurried over and supported him.
"Yuri! Wake up!"
She sounded genuinely worried.
I glanced at her in confusion.
Why did she care so much?
"Jay!"
I turned around.
Keifer had arrived.
He was about to ask something, but his eyes landed on Yuri.
"What the hell happened to him?"
He quickly knelt beside Yuri and lightly slapped his cheeks.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
No response.
"..."
Then...
Smack!
He gave Yuri a hard slap.
Yuri's eyes immediately flew open.
Both the masked girl and I stared at Keifer in complete shock.
"...Wow," the masked girl muttered.
"What a way to wake someone up."
I glared at her.
He's mine.
Before I could say anything else...
I smelled smoke.
"What's that smell?"
Kuya looked toward the hallway.
"Shit! They set the building on fire!"
Everyone's eyes widened.
"Run!"
We all sprinted toward the exit.
"Ah!"
I suddenly twisted my ankle and fell.
"Jay!"
Keifer immediately picked me up in his arms and continued running.
We finally made it outside.
"Get in the car!" Kuya shouted.
Yuri and the masked girl got into Kuya's car.
"Jay and I will go in mine," Keifer said.
"Meet us at Alvin's place."
Keifer nodded.
I blinked.
Alvin's house? Sir Alvin's?
Keifer carefully placed me in the passenger seat.
"Baby, are you okay?"
He gently lifted my leg.
"Show me."
There was a scrape on my ankle.
"My baby..."
He carefully applied some medicine before starting the car.
As he drove, he held my hand.
"Baby... why did you go to Yuri's place?"
I told him everything that had happened.
He simply nodded.
Not long later...
We arrived at Sir Alvin's house.
Before I could open the door, Keifer hurried to my side.
"Don't move," he said.
Before I could protest, he slipped one arm under my knees and the other around my back, lifting me up in a bridal style.
"Keifer!" I whispered, my cheeks turning red.
He smiled.
"My baby is injured. I'm not letting you walk."
Just as he started walking toward the house, Kuya Angelo turned around.
His eyes landed on us.
He slowly gave Keifer a deadly glare.
Keifer immediately gulped.
Without saying a word, he carefully put me back on my feet.
"I-I think you can walk now," he muttered awkwardly.
I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing.
We walked inside together.
As soon as we entered, someone walked out of the kitchen.
"You're finally here."
My eyes widened.
"Miss Cindy?"
I looked at her, then at Sir Alvin, then back at Miss Cindy.
Why was she here?
I kept looking between the two of them.
Miss Cindy sighned
"Stop staring. Your eyes will get stuck."
I quickly looked away.
After making sure everyone was here , we all sat down in the living room.
A few minutes later, Kuya looked at me.
"Jay."
"Hm?"
"Go help Miss Cindy in the kitchen."
I nodded.
Just as I stood up, the masked girl stood up too.
"I'll help."
The three of us walked into the kitchen.
Miss Cindy handed each of us a task.
"Wash the vegetables then Cut these."
"Prepare the plates."
"Got it," we answered.
The moment we started working, I secretly glanced at the masked girl.
She looked back at me.
Neither of us said anything.
But somehow...
A silent competition had started.
I finished washing the vegetables first.
She quickly arranged the ingredients.
I immediately grabbed another task.
She did the same.
Neither of us wanted to lose.
Miss Cindy noticed us but simply continued preparing the food.
After everything was ready, we carried the dishes to the dining table.
Everyone gathered around to eat.
As I sat beside Keifer, I noticed the masked girl sitting across from us.
She kept looking at Keifer.
And smiling.
Why is she smiling at him?
She looked at him again.
And smiled.
Again.
Seriously?
Just then, Kuya Angelo stood up.
"I'm going to the washroom."
The moment he disappeared, I quickly wrapped my arm around Keifer's.
He looked at me in confusion.
"Baby?"
"Open your mouth."
"Huh?"
"Open."
He obediently opened his mouth.
I fed him a spoonful of food.
His ears instantly turned red.
"B-Baby..."
"Is it good?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Very good."
I rested my head on his shoulder.
"My baby is so cute."
Out of the corner of my eye, I looked at the masked girl.
She was watching us.
Good.
Just so you know...
He's my boyfriend.
A burst of laughter suddenly echoed through the dining room.
I froze.
Slowly, I lifted my head.
Sir Alvin was laughing.
Yuri was laughing too.
Even Miss Cindy let out a small laugh.
Only then did I realize...
I had completely forgotten they were all sitting there.
My face instantly turned bright red.
I quickly let go of Keifer's arm and covered my face.
Just then, Kuya Angelo walked back from the washroom.
He looked around in confusion.
"What did I miss?"
"You missed Jay showing off her boyfriend," sir Alvin said with smiling
Kuya looked at me, then at Keifer, before giving me deadly glare.
I quietly lowered my head and continued eating.
Sir Alvin looked at the masked girl.
"We still don't know who you are."
Everyone turned toward her.
She smiled politely.
"My name is Yumi."
She glanced at Yuri.
"I was the one helping Yuri."
Yuri smiled and nodded.
"Yeah. She helped me."
Everyone nodded.
Then Yumi looked at me.
"So... are you two in a relationship?"
My cheeks instantly turned red.
I lowered my head, too embarrassed to answer.
"Yes," Keifer answered without hesitation.
I slowly looked at him.
Kuya Angelo shot him glare.
Keifer quietly continued eating.
Yumi turned to Yuri.
"So he's the best friend you told me about?"
Yuri nodded.
"Yeah. That's Keifer."
A few moments later, Yuri suddenly looked at Keifer.
"By the way..."
Keifer looked up.
"Hm?"
"Why did you slap me so hard?"
Everyone looked at Keifer.
He blinked.
"You weren't waking up."
Yuri frowned.
"You could've just thrown water on me."
He rubbed his cheek dramatically.
"Not slapped me."
Keifer simply shrugged.
"It worked."
Everyone burst into laughter.
