York watched Garling vanish with the corpse. He knew what was coming.
"We have to go."
He sprinted after the God's Knight. Kaido followed instantly, his kanabo resting on his shoulder.
"Shakky!" York called back. "Take care of Teach!"
Shakky stood amidst the ruins, holding the unconscious toddler. She looked at the sack of Devil Fruits in her hand—a treasure worth billions—and sighed. She didn't run.
Whitebeard and Charlotte Linlin exchanged a glance.
"I'll go check on the Captain," Whitebeard said, gripping Murakumogiri.
"Mamamama! I'll stay here," Linlin grinned, cracking her knuckles. "Someone has to watch the loot."
It wasn't just about the treasure.
Around them, the weakened Rocks Pirates (Silver Axe, John, and the others) were getting up. Their eyes were fixed on Shakky and Linlin with predatory intent.
"Linlin," Captain John rasped, wiping blood from his mouth. "Hand over the woman and the fruits. We'll let you live."
"MAMAMAMA!" Linlin laughed, flames and lightning dancing in her hands. "You weaklings! You think you can take me?!"
Behind the traitors, Streusen (Long Bread) quietly drew his sword. He watched the crewmates he had cooked for, his eyes cold.
'Do you really think I'd let you kill my masterpiece for a woman?'
The air crackled. A civil war was about to erupt in the ruins.
At the foot of the mountain, the world was ending.
Rocks D. Xebec and the Possessed Woman (Imu's Avatar) clashed again and again.
BOOM. BOOM. BOOM.
They were evenly matched. But Rocks was human. He panted, sweat dripping from his brow. The Woman was fresh, her stamina infinite.
"It's useless, Rocks," the Woman said, her voice echoing with hollow authority.
"You couldn't defeat Mu back then. You certainly can't now."
"Join the God's Knights. Become my blade. I can make you the Captain of the Knights."
Rocks spat blood. "Be your dog?!"
"WAHAHAHA!"
"If I wanted to be a dog, I would have bowed 30 years ago!!"
"TODAY! I SLAY A GOD!!"
Rocks gripped his blade with both hands. Conqueror's Haki flooded the steel, turning it pitch black. Red lightning tore the sky apart.
"GOD-SLAYING SLASH!!"
SWISH!
A slash of pure annihilation swept across the island. It cut through mountains, clouds, and reality itself.
The Possessed Woman didn't block. She let the slash bisect her.
SQUELCH.
Her body split in two. Then, black smoke poured out, and she stitched herself back together in seconds.
CLANG.
The slash continued, flying toward the incoming reinforcements.
"WHOA!"
York threw himself backward, performing a Matrix dodge. The slash flew inches above his nose, severing a hair.
Kaido dove into the dirt, rolling to safety.
Further back, Whitebeard gritted his teeth. He couldn't dodge—Shakky and Teach were behind him.
"GUH!!"
He punched the air. The atmosphere shattered. The shockwave met the slash, struggling for dominance before finally shattering the attack into harmless wind.
Rocks stood panting, his chest heaving. That attack had drained him.
The Possessed Woman watched him calmly.
"You are strong. But you are mortal."
Suddenly, Saint Garling appeared from the smoke. He carried the corpse of Alice.
"MASTER!" Garling shouted.
He tossed the body onto the ground.
The Woman raised her hand. The Magic Book flipped open.
"Devil's Contract: Black Reversal Domination."
A purple pentagram appeared under the corpse.
"NO!!"
Rocks vanished. He reappeared in front of Garling, swinging his sword.
BANG!
Garling blocked, but the force sent him flying into a cliff face.
It was too late.
The corpse sank into the black swamp.
The circle rotated.
"ALICE!!" Rocks screamed, reaching into the mud.
RUMBLE.
A hand shot out of the ground. It wasn't human. It was gray, clawed, and massive.
A demonized Alice rose from the circle.
She had grown to four meters tall. Horns curled from her forehead. Her skin was like stone.
She blinked, looking at her hands.
"I'm... not dead?"
She looked down.
"Xebec?! How did you... get smaller?!"
Rocks stood at three meters. His wife now towered over him.
He stared up at her, his eyes trembling.
"Alice... how..."
"This is the miracle of God," the Possessed Woman said, floating down behind Rocks.
"Surrender to me, Rocks."
"Kneel, and you can be with her forever. No more death. No more separation."
"Refuse... and you will have to kill her yourself."
