Chapter 60 - Brewing the Mighty Tonic—Bleugh!

The Powerleaf Spinach project alone had burned through roughly 1.2 million Poké Dollars, leaving Peter with just a little over 2 million in hand.

He opened the training interface:

[Slakoth ♂ | Lv.13 | Beginner]

Strengths & Weaknesses Analysis:

Possesses monstrous Attack talent and an unyielding personality. Has already formed an initial bond with its Trainer, allowing it to understand commands clearly during training and battle.

However, its skill pool is extremely shallow, its Speed talent is permanently crippled, and in combat it has only one viable path—stand your ground and trade blows.

Summary:

A Slakoth with true One-Punch Man potential. Fate's cruelty has forged diamond-hard qualities within it.

For this Pokémon, overwhelming force to crush all opposition is the only correct battle philosophy.

[Diagnosis complete. Generate training plan?]

"Confirm."

[10,000 Poké Dollars deducted. Slakoth Early-Stage Training Plan generated.]

Slakoth Early-Stage Training Plan

Ability Adjustment

① Remove 'Steadfast'

For a Slakoth with single-digit Speed, Steadfast is meaningless even when triggered.

Removal Method:

Build confidence through battle victories

Melt inner resentment through consistent care and affirmation

② Replace Ability with 'Huge Power'

Watch Popeye the Sailor Man in its entirety

Develop a diet of ten servings of Powerleaf Spinach per day

…..

Skill Training

① Skill Proficiency Improvement

Hammer Arm:

In League of Legends, play Sett and score kills using W skill Haymaker.

"Tell my mom I'll be home tomorrow." — Sett

Slash:

In Honor of Kings, play Guan Yu and secure kills using Skill 1 Blade of Loyalty.

"Guan Yunchang stands here! State your name—my blade spares no nameless foe!" — Guan Yu

② Expanding the Skill Pool

Aerial Ace:

In Honor of Kings, play Ukyo Tachibana and land Skill 1 Tsubame Gaeshi 100 times.

"Even if I die in the frozen sea, I will go… Draw!" — Ukyo Tachibana

Seed Bomb:

In League of Legends, play Corki and land Q Phosphorus Bomb 300 times.

"Ah~ most people shoot planes. That's really unfair to planes!" — Corki

III. Talent Development

① Talent Allocation:

Abandon Speed entirely. Focus all development on Physical Attack.

Due to congenital limitations, prioritize extreme development of the forelimbs, continuously increasing power control to compensate and create alternative mobility.

② Break Species Limit:

(Feature not yet unlocked)

….

Peter narrowed his eyes.

"Just as I thought…"

Strength and speed were never completely independent concepts.

If Slakoth's hind legs couldn't provide mobility, then its forelimbs could.

After all—force works both ways.

If it slammed the ground behind itself with a Hammer Arm, it would naturally gain forward momentum.

"If we pair that with control or burst skills… this could get interesting."

Ideas immediately flooded Peter's mind:

Scary Face, Taunt, Sucker Punch, Thunder Wave, Encore…

And offensive tools like Aerial Ace, Bug Bite, and more.

Speed was relative.

Slow the opponent, accelerate yourself—round it up, and it's basically a hard stun.

Slow wasn't scary.

As long as the opponent could be restrained, getting in close meant a guaranteed kill window.

And this was a Slakoth with nearly 100 Attack.

Once it evolved into Slaking… the sheer terror was unimaginable.

"Come on, Slakoth. Let me show you our esports room~"

Peter flopped onto the bed and activated the Dreamscape.

The four Pokémon vanished from the room.

[Dream Space activated. Each Pokémon consumes 10,000 Poké Dollars per hour.]

The dazzling esports room burst into view—

Five high-end gaming PCs lined up with premium gaming chairs.

Peter had already noticed:

Every new Pokémon added meant another dedicated setup.

Not just PCs—there were phones, Switches, NDS systems, and every major platform imaginable.

No matter the game or training format, everything was fully supported.

After briefly explaining how games worked, Slakoth began its gaming career.

With only two claws, controlling the keyboard and mouse was clumsy at first—but with Indeedee and Lopunny helping out, four-stacking made farming kills easy.

Once everyone was in the zone, Peter quietly exited the Dreamscape.

-----

He went out shopping, spending over 100,000 Poké Dollars to practically empty the nearby Berry shops.

By the time he returned, the online orders had arrived as well.

"Alright… let's see what this Powerleaf Spinach is really about."

Peter soaked the seeds in Leppa Berry juice, then began mixing the Mighty Tonic.

The purple-red Full Restore was poured in, followed by powdered Power Enhancer, then the Attack Booster…

Thump… glug glug glug—

With a dull pop, the mixture turned into a purple-brown sludge, bubbling violently as heat rose.

"…Ugh."

Peter pinched his nose and squeezed his eyes shut.

This wasn't just pungent—it was weaponized stench.

"One last step… hot farm fertilizer…"

To spare Slakoth's feelings, Peter didn't use the truly organic option.

Instead, he chose the market's most popular brand—

Gardevoir™ Premium Fertilizer.

Rumor had it this fertilizer was produced from Gardevoirs fed on luxury diets, making it extremely effective for plant growth.

Some high-society weirdos even brewed coffee with it.

…Don't ask.

He added the pale pink fertilizer to the heated sludge.

Pssssssss—

A tiny mushroom cloud puffed up.

The smell exploded outward.

"BLEEUGH—!!!"

Peter snapped his head aside and dry-heaved uncontrollably.

It took him over ten minutes to recover before he dared look again.

Inside the container was a vivid shit-green mixture, rolling as it boiled—

like a pot of freshly cooked rice porridge from hell.

[Mighty Tonic]

A special fertilizer used to cultivate Powerleaf Spinach.

Its vibrant color and unique aroma awaken the Pokémon's primal power.

Note: One batch lasts for three days.

"…!"

Clutching his nose, Peter poured the tonic into the Berry Planting Pot.

Almost immediately, lush green spinach sprouts shot up.

"…Gotta admit, the results are instant."

He sealed the pot inside a plastic bag and shoved it into the corner.

Only then did he finally breathe out in relief.

"Let's hope Nurse Joy doesn't get the wrong idea when she cleans the room…"

The lingering "fragrance" still haunted the air.

This stuff made fermented tofu and snail noodles look harmless by comparison.

[Ding! Slakoth completed training. 'Hammer Arm' proficiency increased to 'Mastered'!]

Peter checked the time—only one hour had passed.

Slakoth was picking things up fast.

He re-entered the Dreamscape, queued up Popeye the Sailor Man for Slakoth,

then assigned Bounce and Weather Ball proficiency training to Lopunny and Dolliv.

With the Eterna City Grass-type Gym coming up, those two skills were key counters.

…..

Sometimes, becoming stronger doesn't just make you sweat.

Sometimes—

It makes you gag.
