Chapter 16 - chapter 2.6

Chapter – The Battle Beyond Heaven

At the beginning of the battle, Sai had already prepared his three ultimate power attacks.

Below him, Kaal Jo stood calmly, ready to receive whatever came.

Without hesitation, Sai merged all three attacks into his sword. Dark energy gathered around the blade as the pressure in the air became unbearable.

Then—

He swung.

The attack shot toward Kaal Jo at full power.

But Kaal Jo wasn't standing still.

At that moment, he activated his own technique.

Heavenly Light.

A white line of pure energy appeared and rushed forward at impossible speed. Nobody present could even follow the movement with their eyes.

The two attacks collided.

BOOOOOOOOOOM—!!

A terrifying explosion echoed across the battlefield.

The shockwave spread in all directions.

Mountains turned into dust.

The earth cracked.

This was perhaps the strongest attack ever witnessed.

When the smoke cleared—

Sai had survived.

But surprisingly, Kaal Jo had won the clash.

Yet just as Kaal Jo's attack was about to completely hit Sai—

Sai suddenly released another hidden power.

Instantly, Heavenly Light disappeared.

Kaal Jo stared in shock.

He couldn't even understand what had happened to his attack.

Sai smiled.

"You truly are a powerful opponent, Kaal Jo… but now you will witness my real power. No one has ever pushed me this far."

Then Sai began doing something impossible.

He started merging Evil Energy and Magic Energy.

Kaal Jo's eyes widened.

"How…? That shouldn't be possible…"

But Sai continued.

Then—

Even Righteous Energy joined the fusion.

Kaal Jo couldn't believe it.

Is he… a god?

Kaal Jo clenched his fist.

"No… If I face this attack directly, I'll lose."

Then he made a decision.

Using Sai's own energy patterns as inspiration, Kaal Jo also began combining Evil Energy, Magic Energy, and Righteous Energy together.

Sai completed his fusion first.

Without giving Kaal Jo any chance—

He attacked.

Kaal Jo nearly disappeared under the overwhelming force.

But at the final moment—

Kaal Jo gathered every remaining drop of energy into his sword and released it.

BOOOOOOOOOOM—!!

An even greater explosion covered the world.

Cultivators standing over 100 kilometers away had to defend themselves just to survive.

Then—

The scene changed.

A flashback.

700 years ago – Nia Kingdom

Inside a small house, a pregnant woman rested while her husband sat beside her.

"Don't worry," he said softly. "Everything will be okay."

A week later—

Their child was born.

The husband rushed inside.

His face was full of joy.

He held the baby and laughed.

"Our child will become a great cultivator one day!"

Then he looked away and said—

"At least better than that useless son…"

That son—

Was Kaal Jo.

Kaal Jo had been born with the worst cultivation root.

In this world there were five known root ranks:

- Orange Rank — Rank 1 (Lowest)

- Yellow Rank — Rank 2

- Blue Rank — Rank 3

- Red Rank — Rank 4

- Green Rank — Rank 5

But Kaal Jo possessed something even worse—

Black Root.

A root only normal mortals possessed.

Someone with this root could never become an immortal.

Because of this, Kaal Jo became the greatest disappointment of his family.

His younger brother was born with a Rank 4 root.

Everyone celebrated him.

Meanwhile—

Kaal Jo lived alone in a broken house.

Most people would hate their family.

But Kaal Jo didn't.

He hated only himself.

Not because he accepted weakness—

But because he refused to accept fate.

The heavens declared:

Black Root can never surpass immortals.

Kaal Jo decided to break that rule.

Even while still mortal—

He fought Level 1 and Level 2 beasts.

Beasts that even real immortals feared.

Once—

He challenged a Level 4 beast.

The result was terrible.

He was beaten until he almost died.

But before death reached him—

A Level 6 cultivator appeared and saved him.

The cultivator was shocked.

A mere mortal had fought a monster stronger than immortals.

And even when losing—

He never ran.

Impressed, the cultivator gave Kaal Jo an ancient cultivation book.

"This technique cannot make you strong quickly," he warned.

"Your progress will be painfully slow… but one day, you may become an immortal."

For Kaal Jo—

That was enough.

He accepted the book.

Year after year—

He trained.

Three years.

Four years.

Five years.

His family forgot he even existed.

All attention went to his younger brother.

But Kaal Jo never stopped.

Until finally—

One day—

He broke the impossible.

He surpassed the limits of mortality.

And stepped into—

Level 1 Immortal Realm.

For ordinary mortals—

This was impossible.

But Kaal Jo had shattered destiny itself.
