I did not believe him, no matter how hard I tried. Something about Rox felt wrong after everything that happened tonight. The boy was a good liar, and I felt stupid for trusting him in the first place. Standing on the same ground where the ritual took place, I kept thinking about the chance that Raze and Rox were talking to each other.
When Jax kept insisting, I knew there might be some truth in what he said, but there was no way to prove it. I walked around, searching for anything that could be used as evidence, but there was nothing. It felt like Raze was never here at all.
"Hey..." Lex's voice called out.
I did not turn around. He must have noticed the door was open and came to look for me.
"Are you starting to believe what your brother said?"
"I never doubted him. Someone helped Rox, that is clear. But pointing at Raze without proof makes no sense," I said, crossing my arms.
