Chapter 47: The Broken Bond and the Shadow of Silence
The Conflict Between Diari and Rina
The air in the cave grew heavy and cold. Rina stood before Diari; her eyes no longer showed the warmth of the past but held a sharp, piercing light. Her forehead twitched with an intense, troubled energy. The silence between them was more painful than any physical wound. Diari wanted to speak, to explain that he only feared she would lose herself in the darkness, but Rina raised her hand to silence him. She looked at him with a mix of disappointment and coldness.
Rina said: "Do not speak, Diari. Do you think I have become one of them? Do you think hatred and malice have taken root in my soul? You are wrong. I am not like the air that everyone can breathe; I am like that rare oxygen that only those who value life can survive on. I am not like them. If I were to use my mind with you—if I truly allowed my thoughts to judge you—I would become a monster and I would hate you, because you doubted me. I am only using my mind for them right now, to survive and reclaim the justice that was stolen from us. I am still the same Rina, but I am doing what must be done." She took a step closer, her gaze freezing him: "Honestly, I feel sorry for you. I won't say another word, because talking to someone who doesn't understand the weight of this crown is a waste of time."
Diari tried to grab her hand, his eyes pleading: "Rina, listen to me... I only wanted..." But Rina didn't listen. She turned her back on him, leaving him in the shadows of regret. Her silence became a wall that Diari could not cross.
The Punishment of Liva's Mother
Rina was filled with grief, yet her kind heart had not turned to cruelty; she was simply being just. She wanted revenge for her father's suffering. With terrifying, magical speed, she hurled herself toward Liva's mother. With a flick of her wrist, she removed the force of gravity. Liva's mother felt a massive terror within her. Rina lifted her toward the cave's ceiling, slamming her against the sharp rocks. Liva's mother let out a scream of agony: "Rina, please stop! My body is breaking apart! Please!" But Rina then thrust her back down toward the ground.
Rina whispered: "You loved to look down on others from above; now let's see how the earth welcomes you." She repeated this—up to the sky and down to the ground—until the mother's screams became weak gasps. In her mind, Rina was at war with herself. Her mind said: "Take revenge, just as they hurt you." But her heart whispered: "Stop Rina, it's a sin, she has suffered enough. And forgive Diari, he did nothing." But her mind snapped back: "No, I must continue. Just as they hurt us, I won't forgive Diari. He broke my heart by comparing me to Liva. I will be right in front of him, but I will make it so he cannot see me. Sadly, I thought he saw me as different, but he compared me to others. I am sorry, my kind heart... but I cannot..."
The Father and Morgana: An Ancient Revenge
On the other side, Rina's father was no longer silent or surrendered. He was taking his revenge, having learned from his daughter. He stood over Morgana, his ancestral energy flowing like molten gold. He forced Morgana to experience all the pain he had suffered, avenging his daughter and Diari. He didn't kill her; he destroyed her mind with those agonies. This was a death more terrifying than eternal slumber. Morgana, once the Queen of Shadows, was now a trembling figure begging at his feet.
Liva's Twisted Joy
Cruel Liva enjoyed the conflict between Rina and Diari. Even though she was trapped and in pain, her heart was full of joy seeing them drift apart. She watched with a wicked smile. Seeing Rina's rage toward her protector gave Liva a dark satisfaction. she mocked Diari with her eyes, delighted to see the "Light" fracturing from within.
End of the Chapter
Rina continued to torture Liva's mother, completely ignoring Diari as if he no longer existed in her world. The bond that had kept them together through the darkest nights had cracked, leaving them both alone in the heart of the Black Forest.
