Chapter 63: The Thaw of a Frozen Heart and the Joy of Home

The Sudden Question

The living room was illuminated by the soft, dancing glow of the hearth fire as the family gathered around the game board. In the midst of the game's excitement, Elias lifted his head from the pieces and turned his wise gaze toward Rina. With a kind and meaningful smile, he asked: "Rina, after everything we have endured, have you given any thought to the future? For instance... marriage? Is there a space in your heart for such a step?" The room fell into a sudden, heavy silence. Rina felt the heat rising to her face as she slowly turned her head. For a cold second, her silver eyes met Diari's crimson ones. In the depths of her soul, she whispered: I always believed I was meant for Diari... but his words wounded me so deeply. Taking a deep breath, she replied with a sudden warmth, "There is no doubt about it, if God makes the path easy." Then, she retreated into a profound and thoughtful silence.

A Shadow in the Distance

As the conversation shifted, Diari's gaze drifted toward the window. Out in the distance, where the porch light could not reach the devouring darkness, he spotted a strange and tall figure. It stood perfectly still, staring intensely into the house. A cold shiver raced down Diari's spine. But before he could utter a word of warning to the others, the figure vanished like mist or smoke into the night. Diari blinked rapidly, wondering if his mind was playing tricks on him again after the haunting visions they had seen on the road.

The Reconciliation

Rina noticed the flicker of unease in Diari's expression. Something within her began to thaw, warming her entire being. Her heart could no longer endure the presence of that cold wall between them. She stood up, walked over to Diari, and sat down closely beside him. Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke: "Diari... it is true that I carried a lot of sorrow and bitterness in my heart. Perhaps I misunderstood the weight of your words. But my heart simply will not allow me to be cold toward you anymore. I have made peace with you... I cherish you as my dearest friend."

A Crimson Joy

At those words, Diari felt as though his heart had been liberated from a suffocating cage. A wave of pure, boundless joy crashed over him. Without a second thought, he pulled Rina into a fierce, tight embrace, resting his head upon her shoulder. Tears of overwhelming happiness began to flow. "I knew it," he said, his voice choked with emotion. "I knew that kind heart of yours would find its way back to me. I would sacrifice everything for that heart, Rina. You are my soul; you have illuminated my entire life. Thank you for understanding me." In the sanctuary of his mind, he made a silent vow: I love you beyond measure, my future wife.

Chaos in the Kitchen

Rina's father and Elias exchanged a long look, broad smiles of deep satisfaction spreading across their faces. Seeing the atmosphere transform, Diari stood up with a newfound, vibrant energy. "Since everyone is so incredibly happy, I shall be the chef tonight! I am going to prepare a royal feast for Rina!" he announced with a triumphant grin. What followed was absolute chaos. Diari stormed into the kitchen like a whirlwind; the sounds of clattering pots and pans echoed through the house. He accidentally sent flour flying everywhere, creating a hilarious scene of domestic disaster. Laughter filled the air as the family watched his confused and clumsy movements. Ultimately, realizing that "Diari's Royal Feast" was a total catastrophe, they decided to order food from the village instead.

End of the Chapter

As they sat down to enjoy the meal they had ordered, the atmosphere was warmer and brighter than it had ever been. Diari found it impossible to take his eyes off Rina; his gaze was filled with an open, burning adoration that made his crimson eyes shimmer. Rina felt the intensity of his stare and looked up, her eyes finally meeting his. For the first time, she did not look away. Instead, a deep, beautiful blush colored her cheeks. She felt a sweet, fluttering shyness in her chest—a feeling she had never experienced before. The fierce warrior queen had vanished, replaced by a young woman in love, hiding her radiant smile behind her glass of water.
