Chapter 1 - Chapter 1.1 A normal day

It was a normal day for Lighg Yagami, but quite a boring one.

How could he enjoy life, when he was constantly doing the same motions?

Getting up, going to school, studying...

He already knew what the teacher was discussing like he knew how to tie his shoelaces.

Man...

How he wished things would get interesting.

" Yagami, would you explain your view this page ?"

" Yes sir."

He stood up, his movement more practiced than human, as his classmates looked at him with curiosity rather than the usual ignorance that they grew to have whenever Light was in the same room as them.

That's why he decided to join the philosophy class.

He was bored of having every correct answer in his mind, so he joined the one class where his answers aren't the only right ones.

" I believe the story of Romeo and Juliet to be a masterpiece, a perfect representation of what obsession can lead to.

Juliet was a girl blinded by the thrill of it all, while Romeo was blinded by her beauty.

I suppose that it was a toxic fling that was never meant to last."

The objections were immediate, his classmates already yelling at him as he sat back down.

" No way !

Romeo and Juliet was a tragic yet beautiful romance !"

" It's Romeo's fault it all went to crap !"

" I blame Juliet, she knew better !! "

As the students argued away, Light looked out of his window, boredom already seeping in his veins.

All the arguments were based off of their own emotions rather than facts.

It bored him.

' Why were they not showing the evidence behind their views ?

Why didn't the teacher criticise mine ?

Aren't they meant to be the best at this ?'

As he wondered away, he managed to catch a glimpse of a book falling out of the classroom's window.

' Hm...What is that ?"

Eventually though, the teacher managed to calm the class down, and the class ended on a sour note.

As normal, Light was ignored by everyone else on his way out.

Not out of malice, of course.

But because he seemed unreachable.

It wasn't a understatement how well known he is.

Smartest kid in the region and 3 year champion in tennis.

At the top of sports, academics, plus having a well off family to boot.

He even looks godly and he knows it.

But..

He was just a human.

He still craved something, something no one could give him.

He didn't want to hear the empty praises his grades got him, he didn't want to be isolated from everyone.

Yet at the same time he wants, needs more.

He needs to be perfect.

So why ?

Why was he so drawn to that notebook on the ground ?

He shouldn't pick it up, it seemed way too suspicious.

But for the first time since forever, he was curious.

He sighed as he held the notebook in his hands, opening it without a care in the world.

' ....A Death note ?

What kind of prank is this ?'

As he read the instructions, he was getting more and more disturbed by the rules written inside, noting how specific each one was.

' This..

This feels way too elaborate to be a prank..

Is this maybe a murderer's list ?

A piece of evidence that they tried abandoning ?!

I..I shouldn't be holding this.'

He looked around, wondering what the hell to do.

' I should report this...

Who am I kidding ?

The teachers here ignore all issues involving me like a sport, they'll probably tell me to stop acting childish and call it a day..'

He groaned as he saw a headache incoming.

Luckily, it seemed his prayers were answered when he saw a specific man passing by.

He remembered seeing him on the TV, Teru Mekami.

He was a persecutor who was gaining vast attention due to his sense of justice and intelligence.

'Surely he would take this seriously..

Or at least take this off my hands.'

With the confidence Light naturally held, he approached and handed the notebook to him.

Light could note how confused Teru was, but he didn't want to deal with another headache at the moment.

" I think you know what to do with this, Mr.Mikami."

With the notebook in safe hands, he left, reminding himself that he had extra classes to attend to.

On his way however, he wondered about his family.

As genuine as their love is, he couldn't feel it nor reciprocate them, no matter how much he tried.

The only exception being his father, a man he deeply admired and grown to care for.

At the extra classes Light spent his time studying, wondering when he would tell them the truth.

He can't keep up the 'perfect son' act forever, but he didn't want to be put in a mental hospital for the rest of his life either.

Sighing, he grabbed his bags and went home, where his mother was already at the door.

Her hand was outstretched, most likely for the results of his mock exams.

" Wow Light !

Top of the class yet again !

I'm gonna hang this on the fridge "

He nodded and smiled, trying to hold back his annoyance.

Why did that compliment seem so hollow to him ?

It was as if she didn't care a tiny bit for his hard work.

He sighed and went up stairs, deciding to grab some apples as well.

With a bored hum he turned on the TV, looking at the news with distaste.

" Breaking News !

A man by the name of .... has kidnapped a group of children along their kindergarten teacher !

The man is armed and the police are looking for how to save everyone in one piece.

We will inform you during any events."

'A mass kidnapping ?!'

He looked at the screen with vast attention.

'If I only had that notebook...

Wait !

What am I thinking ?!

Am I just planning on murdering a man just because I had that damn notebook?!'

He shook his head and smacked his face gently, .

'No way !

Even if some lives deserved to be ended early, doesn't mean that I have the right to do it !

I'm only human, just like them.'

He rubbed his face as he went back to work, though after few seconds he heard the news come back in a panic.

" This just in !

The man has unfortunately passed away due to unknown health complications !

Luckily, the children are alive but traumatised of such event..

May they get rest after such a terrifying day.."

Light couldn't believe it.

That was way too convenient, but was plausible.

People tend to get sick during stressful situations, and it's not like he knew the man's health history.

'Still...'

Light thought while looking up from his bed.

' It's disturbing how I immediately thought to kill someone like that..

I should probably reveal the truth soon, before I do something horrible.'

Little did Light Yagami know, that he already had....

...

This was the best day in Mikami Teru's life.

He always knew God favoured him, even if life started out badly for him.

He always stood for justice even if it cost him a lot.

His parents thought he was mentally ill, his classmates avoided him because he was a 'snitch'.

But on one day, his prayers were answered when both of his useless parents died at the same day.

Ever since, he knew that his god is somewhere on this Earth, waiting for him to prove himself worthy of such gift he gave me all those years ago.

And now, he did!

His god was so obvious..

Top of his class, top in sports and so beautiful it could kill a model's career.

How didn't he know that it was Light Yagami all along ?

Looking back at it, his god must have gotten impatient with him.

'Nevermind that...

My god has finally noticed my hard work once more !'

He was glad he was finally deemed worthy.

Worthy enough for him to approach, to say his name with such a sweet tone.

" I think you know what to do with this, Mr.Mikami."

He could cum in his pants thinking of it over and over again.

To think his god chose him out of all people to be his executioner...

He held the death note in his hand, his laptop in the other.

" Don't worry my lord, I will complete your task..

And make a new world worthy of my moon god !"
