Zamasu had ascended to the position of Supreme Kai ahead of schedule, even while Gowasu had yet to retire. The method he employed was chillingly clear: he had personally murdered his mentor.
This revelation alone was enough to send Rumsshi, the God of Destruction, into a towering rage. A Supreme Kai is a deity of the same standing as a God of Destruction; though their combat prowess differs, their divine status is equal. For Zamasu to dare strike down Gowasu was an act of supreme insolence against the divine order and a direct insult to Rumsshi himself.
More importantly, the lives of a God of Destruction and a Supreme Kai are inextricably linked through a life-link. If the Supreme Kai perishes, the God of Destruction dies as well. This meant that in a future timeline, Rumsshi would indirectly die at Zamasu's traitorous hands.
"How could I possibly tolerate this!" Rumsshi roared. He immediately fired off a bullet screen message to Gowasu, demanding he restrain Zamasu at once. Deep down, he prayed that Gowasu wouldn't be foolish.
As the Destroyer of Universe 10, Rumsshi knew the old Kai well—he was kind, perhaps too kind. While a gentle heart is usually a virtue, in this case, it was a liability. What if Zamasu's silver tongue deceived him? What if he struck while Gowasu's guard was down?
If Gowasu died, that was one thing, but Rumsshi refused to be dragged into the grave with him. While messaging, Rumsshi ordered Angel Kusu to accelerate. They needed to reach the Kaioshin Realm in record time.
In the Kaioshin Realm of Universe 10, Gowasu read Rumsshi's warning. He looked at Zamasu, his most gifted disciple, with a heavy heart. Zamasu was brilliant in every aspect save for one: his radical, festering hatred for mortals. Gowasu had hoped to correct this flaw to make him a grand Supreme Kai, but that hope was now shattered.
"Zamasu... Alas," Gowasu sighed, suddenly launching an attack.
Caught off guard by the sudden strike, Zamasu's expression turned grim as he moved to counter. In terms of raw Ki, Zamasu did not fear his master, but Gowasu possessed the refined esoteric techniques of a True Kai. While the Dragon Ball multiverse is a place where overwhelming power typically crushes any trickery, Zamasu had not yet reached the level where he could ignore such divine arts.
After a brief, intense struggle, Zamasu found himself paralyzed and restrained. This struggle proved why, in the original timeline, Zamasu had relied on a lethal ambush; he simply couldn't overpower Gowasu in a direct, prepared confrontation.
Gowasu: "@Rumsshi, Lord Rumsshi, I have successfully restrained Zamasu."
Rumsshi: "Excellent. Keep him pinned and wait for my arrival."
Rumsshi: "Do not let him go, no matter what lies he tells you!"
Gowasu: "I understand, Lord Rumsshi."
As these messages flashed across the screens of the Wanjie Multiverse, many viewers breathed a sigh of relief. It was a blessing that this video had exposed the future; otherwise, Zamasu's madness would have plunged both Universe 10 and Universe 7 into absolute chaos. Yet, a nagging question remained: How did Zamasu come to possess the body of Son Goku? They were from different universes and should have had no connection.
Back in the video, the tension reached a breaking point. Goku Black stared down the heroes, his dark gaze meeting the defiant eyes of Son Goku and the others. Despite the warnings from Future Trunks, seeing the villain in the flesh was jarring. The resemblance was uncanny—he was the spitting image of Goku.
Both Goku and Vegeta were itching to test the interloper's power. After their usual bickering, Goku won the right to fight, arguing that since the enemy wore his face, he should be the one to settle it. Vegeta reluctantly stepped aside.
Goku Black smirked, relishing the challenge. Every clash with the real Son Goku allowed him to better synchronize with his stolen Saiyan body, making him stronger with every blow. The battle erupted. In his base form, Goku found himself suppressed by the sheer intensity of Black's dark Ki. Even after ascending to Super Saiyan, Goku struggled against the villain's relentless pressure.
It was only when Goku tapped into the divine power of Super Saiyan Blue that he finally gained the upper hand, completely overwhelming the dark twin. However, before he could land a finishing blow, a time-space distortion began to drag Goku Black back to the future. To ensure he wasn't followed, Black destroyed the Time Machine with a precise blast before being sucked back through the rift.
Returning to his timeline, Goku Black collapsed, his body battered and bleeding. Yet, he laughed. He knew that through the Saiyan trait of Zenkai, recovering from these wounds would grant him even more terrifying power.
In the past, Future Trunks fell into despair. With the Time Machine in ruins, his hope for saving his world seemed lost. But Akira, watching with tactical precision, noted the change in the atmosphere as Bulma's eyes lit up. She raced into the lab and emerged with a dusty Hoi-Poi Capsule.
Pop! A moss-covered Time Machine appeared—the very one the biological menace Cell had used years ago. Bulma explained that she had kept it in storage all this time. While it was damaged, she had recovered her future self's notebook from the wreckage of the other machine, giving her the blueprints needed for repairs.
As Bulma worked, Goku joined Beerus and Whis on a trip to Universe 10. They had noticed the Time Ring on Goku Black's finger, a relic exclusive to the Supreme Kais. Their investigation led them straight to the apprentice, Zamasu.
Zamasu acted with forced respect toward the God of Destruction and his Angel, but his eyes betrayed a deep loathing for Goku. Goku, ever the battle-hungry Saiyan, failed to notice the hostility. Upon hearing that Zamasu was the strongest fighter in Universe 10 and a candidate for Supreme Kai, his eyes lit up.
"Hey," Goku said, a competitive grin spreading across his face. "How about a sparring match?"
