"Huh? A Jujutsu High School exchange event?" Satoru Gojo, wearing his round sunglasses, yawned. "Who would go to such a boring event!"
Yaga Masamichi's eye twitched. "Take this seriously! This is a joint event between Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu High!"
Geto Suguru was puzzled. "Do we all have to go? Is the other side that strong?"
Yaga Masamichi's face darkened. "Well, not exactly. It's not good to say this, but the other side... isn't that strong. Any one of you three could handle them easily."
Despite being only first-years, their performance had earned them the title of the "Strongest Trio." By conservative estimates, their strength was not inferior to Zen'in Naobito, the "strongest Grade 1."
"Hah? Then why go? I'm not interested in crushing weaklings!" Both Satoru Gojo and Geto Suguru made faces of disgust.
Yaga Masamichi clenched his fist. He turned to look at Gojo Ze, who was sitting cross-legged on the floor, silent and seemingly meditating with his eyes closed. He roared, "You two brats, can't you learn from Ze? Look at how steady he is!"
Shoko moved closer to Ze and poked his cheek. "Teacher, Ze seems to be asleep!"
Yaga Masamichi: "..."
"ZE!!!"
Gojo Ze jolted awake. "Ah? What is it, Yaga-sensei?"
Yaga Masamichi covered his face. "In short, you three must attend. The Higher-Ups need to assess your abilities!"
Ieiri Shoko raised her hand. "Um, teacher! Senior Utahime invited me to research Reverse Cursed Technique. Can I skip it?"
Yaga Masamichi nodded. Shoko's presence wasn't necessary for the combat portion since these three brats weren't likely to get injured anyway.
Kyoto Jujutsu High mobilized over twenty students. Tokyo, however, only sent three first-years. The Kyoto students felt a bit of schadenfreude—was Tokyo handing them victory on a silver platter?
The Higher-Ups, however, believed the Tokyo trio would win in less than ten minutes. This event was purely to observe Gojo Ze and the others up close.
"Wow! Is this Kyoto Jujutsu High? It's way more impressive than our school!" Satoru looked at the lavishly decorated buildings, stars in his eyes.
Gojo Ze slapped the back of his head. "Satoru! Don't look like you've never seen anything fancy before; you'll be looked down on!"
Geto Suguru nodded. "Satoru, you're so embarrassing!"
"Hah? You two wanna fight?"
"I was the one who won last time, Satoru!" Suguru smirked.
"Shut up! I won the time before that!"
"Both of you be quiet," Gojo Ze interjected. "The time before that, I beat both of you by myself!"
The two fell silent, rolling their eyes. They couldn't argue with that. Among the three, Ze's strength was the greatest. Even though they shared the same abilities, Ze's cursed energy reserves and control were a notch above his brother's.
Gojo Ze claimed the center position. "In that case, I'll be the team leader!"
"Huh? Just because you're the strongest?"
"Shut up, Satoru. You're the least steady one here!"
"Suguru! You wanna fight?"
"Bring it on!"
Thump! Thump!
Satoru and Suguru crouched on the ground, holding their heads where large red bumps were steaming. Gojo Ze smiled sinisterly. "Satoru! Learn to respect your elders! And Suguru! You still owe me 500 million for Yūun. Want me to add interest?"
"Bastard! Suguru, let's take him on together!"
The "Strongest Trio" immediately devolved into a no-holds-barred children's brawl. Pinching, nostril-poking, and Satoru even tried to bite Suguru's topknot.
The Arrival
Inside the building, the Special Grade Sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo was talking to Yoshinobu Gakuganji.
"Tsukumo, these three are different," Gakuganji said gravely. "Two are the Gojo Family's Six Eyes twins. The other possesses Cursed Spirit Manipulation. They are geniuses."
The Higher-Ups from the Gojo Family puffed out their chests with pride, while the Zenin and Kamo families turned green with envy.
"We're here!" Gakuganji announced, pushing the large doors open with an indescribable force. Everyone craned their necks, expecting to see legendary warriors.
Instead, they saw the "Strongest Trio" locked in a childish brawl, rolling around in the dirt. They were bruised, bloodied with nosebleeds, and yelping as they bit and pinched each other.
Yaga Masamichi felt his face burning with shame. He knew that from today on, his reputation in the education world was finished.
