She shifted in her sleep, murmuring softly as she instinctively burrowed deeper into the warmth beside her. It felt so comforting like a soft, heated cushion that she sighed in contentment and curled closer.
Sleep dragged her under again, heavy and sweet, until the "pillow" beneath her shifted slightly. A faint whine slipped past her lips as she tugged it closer, hugging it possessively. But it felt… heavier than a pillow should. And then it grunted.
Her brows knitted together in confusion.
Still half asleep, she draped her leg over the supposed pillow and settled in more comfortably. Yet the surface beneath her felt strangely firm far too hard to be any kind of cushion.
She shifted again, lifting her knee slightly, when another low grunt sounded. Suddenly something large closed around her thigh.
Her eyes flew open.
The first thing she saw was a broad, muscular chest directly in front of her.
