Chapter 166 - Chapter 165 Kaguya Appears

Trump card!?

The other village Ninja, Senju Tsunade included, all turned toward Pakura and Suikazan Fuguki. The Sea Ninja Village and Sand Ninja Village were Vegapunk's strongholds, so they had to have something good stashed away. Everyone wanted to see what the pair could pull out in this hopeless situation.

"No choice. I'll have Unit One and Unit Two handle this jutsu, you send Unit Three and Unit Four after that Rinnegan. Move out now!"

Hovering in mid-air, Suikazan Fuguki answered, then looked at the two blank-faced bodyguards. "Limiters released! Eighth gear engaged—shatter this lousy jutsu for me!"

As the words left Fuguki's mouth, the two Android guards threw their heads back and roared. Rips and tears shredded their coats, revealing muscular bodies in black bodysuits.

At the same time, terrifying Chakra erupted from the pair. Tsunade took one glance and paled: "That's the Eight Gates? The Eight Gates opened all the way to the Gate of Death!"

Exactly. These were the Eight Gates Androids Vegapunk had built using data taken from Might Guy. That data, plus the special compression suits they wore, let the Androids fight for five minutes after opening the Gate of Death instead of dying after a single blow.

The moment the two Androids shed their restraints, they stamped on the air and shot straight toward the Planetary Devastation sphere. Nagato kept his Rinnegan fixed on them, never breaking character: "Hah, trying to beat Planetary Devastation with taijutsu? Still dreaming?"

Yet when the pair reached the boulder, their aura peaked: "Evening Elephant—Continuous Stomp!"

With each roar, elephant-leg-shaped blasts of air slammed into the core sphere. Cracking like an onion being peeled, the stone ball shattered layer by layer, exposing the black core, which soon disintegrated as well.

The two Eight Gates Ninja spun toward Nagato. Blood seeping from their bodies ignited in the air, becoming twin crimson-black flame dragons as they charged—the Eight Gates' ultimate technique: Night Guy!

A shiver ran through Nagato; sensing the terrifying force, he swept his hand out: "Shinra Tensei!"

The Almighty Push clashed with the black-red dragons for an instant, then cracked and collapsed, but it had done its job—Nagato was flung far away.

Action and reaction, however, are equal. Though they had broken Shinra Tensei, the two Ninja's legs were now almost pulverized.

Five minutes had yet to pass, but those shattered limbs meant they could no longer fight.

Watching, Nagato's eyes flickered as data streamed through his mind: (Looks like lasting five minutes in the Eight Gates isn't the real issue … the damage from just a few exchanges means they can only manage a dozen moves at best.)

While he analyzed, the others had a stroke of luck: when the black core shattered, the tremendous gravity vanished, and all the lifted stone and earth crashed back down. Every Ninja landed safely.

No one else dared intervene; the fight was too high-level. Anyone below Kage couldn't even survive the aftershocks, and the few Kage present could only watch—charging in would just get in the way.

Now that the first two Eight Gates Ninja were down, Pakura spoke up: "Unit Three, Unit Four—limiters released, eighth gear! Target: the Rinnegan user!"

An identical surge of power erupted as the other pair likewise unleashed the Eight Gates.

The leaders of the other villages exchanged glances, stunned. What was this—mass-produced one-shot human bombs?

Any one of these four Eight Gates Ninja could probably wipe out almost every Ninja the three major villages had on the field.

Even if they paid with their lives, trading a mass-produced soldier for a genuine Kage-level powerhouse was staggeringly profitable.

And judging by how polished the tech looked, the village heads were deeply worried.

Who knew how many of these Eight Gates Androids Vegapunk had built? Just ten or so would be enough to flatten any village's top-tier force.

Nagato's face paled as if he meant to retreat, but the two fresh Eight Gates Ninja stamped on the air, cutting off his escape front and back. They struck together, countless air columns smashing toward him.

Shinra Tensei? Shattered. Chakra absorption? The Eight Gates only used Chakra to reinforce the body; their attacks were pure physical force. Susanoo? It would still be blasted to bits.

At last Nagato formed Truth-Seeking Orbs into a shell, barely surviving the first wave.

The two Ninja, leaping through the air, once again wrapped their crimson aura into twin dragons—another Night Guy apiece.

The two dragon-shaped auras crossed, grinding even the black orbs to dust. Encased within, Nagato was blown apart.

As the pieces of his corpse rained down, the battlefield fell silent. Neither the Fourth Raikage nor Ōnoki looked pleased; they saw only a worse predator arriving after the wolf.

But their worries were cut short. On Nagato's fallen head, a black seal spread, wrapping the remains. Shattered pieces crawled back, reassembling themselves.

When the onlookers sensed something wrong, they saw Nagato had turned into a black, liquid mass that swelled until—splash!—from it stepped a tall woman with white hair, a third eye on her brow, Byakugan, and two horns.

"What now …" After so many shocks, the uninformed Ninja felt drained. The Chakra radiating from this woman felt even more monstrous than Nagato's.

Only a few years have passed—why does the Ninja World feel so unrecognizable? Every freak and monster under the sun is crawling out of the woodwork!

"At last, this Empress has finally escaped the seal!"

Opening her eyes, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya looked around, a little dazed. How had she returned to this form? Where was the God Tree? Where was Black Zetsu? Why was there nothing?

Still, sensing the mighty Chakra inside her, Ōtsuki Kaguya didn't dwell on it. If the plan had gone sideways, so be it. For centuries she'd thought herself doomed to spend eternity on the moon.

When she first created Black Zetsu, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya never imagined her two sons would actually split the Ten-Tails. She'd assumed that, not being pure-blooded Ōtsutsuki, they would simply grow old and die.

Once her sons died of old age, the God Tree would reappear in the world, and with Black Zetsu's cunning, freeing her would be straightforward.

What she hadn't foreseen was her sons founding Ninshū, spreading Chakra far and wide, tearing the Ten-Tails apart, hurling the Gedo Statue to the moon for their sibling's descendants to guard, and giving consciousness to each of the nine Tailed Beasts. In a stroke, Black Zetsu's "rescue mother" quest jumped from easy mode to hell mode.

Originally, all it took was a little manipulation of a Six Paths Sage's descendant to seal the God Tree, and Kaguya would walk free. Instead, it became: first forge a Rinnegan, recall the Gedo Statue, assault the Five Great Ninja Villages, gather all nine Tailed Beasts, then personally ambush and hijack the ritual. Frankly, in the original tale Black Zetsu only managed to release Ōtsutsuki Kaguya because his luck was off the charts; one mis-step anywhere and the whole scheme would've collapsed.

Once certain she was completely free, Kaguya didn't waste time wondering how. She swept the gathered Ninja with an icy glare.

"Pests in my garden? It's because of you insects that this Emress emerged so late!"

Kaguya spoke abruptly—and she wasn't wrong. Had the extraordinary system of Chakra never spread, Black Zetsu would likely have freed her right after the Six Paths Sage's death.

"You—!"

The Kage of every village frowned. A sudden crack echoed as space fractured around them and two figures stepped out.

"Vegapunk?!"

Everyone stared. But the Raikage and Tsunade took one look and knew: this Vegapunk was no clone.

The reason was simple—the Chakra inside the scientist dwarfed any normal Ninja, even the Tailed Beasts.

Had they not already witnessed Nagato and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's monstrous reserves, the gathered Ninja would have been stunned senseless.

What clinched it for Tsunade was seeing Pakura and Suikazan Fuguki immediately move to stand behind Vegapunk.

Most eyes fixed on Vegapunk, overlooking the veiled, statuesque woman at his side—except Kaguya, whose face turned grave as she faced Hancock.

"Who are you?! A new Ōtsutsuki?! A pursuer sent from the homeworld?!"

Sensing the same Ōtsutsuki bloodline, Kaguya went pale, all haughty arrogance gone; she even stumbled backward like a frightened bird.

"How pathetic, darling. Is this really the progenitor of Chakra?"

"Such vast Chakra paired with so frail a soul—no wonder you're fit only to be my food."

Stung, Kaguya cried, "I am not food! I have been reborn!"

"Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack!"

Countless blue Chakra fists thundered toward Hancock. She sneered, raised her hand, and released pale Chakra that neutralized every strike.

To the two women it was merely a greeting, but to the on-looking Ninja it was catastrophic.

The deafening blast flung every Ninja aside. The already ruined, planetoid-scarred peak collapsed entirely; the shock-wave tore several kilometers through the Land of Iron, flipping snow to expose black soil beneath.

"Cough—Shizune, are you alright?"

Dragging herself from the snow, Tsunade gritted her teeth. A giant slug poked up its head: "I'm fine, Lady Tsunade! Miss Shizune has been reverse-summoned away!"

"Good…"

Tsunade exhaled, then winced as pain lanced her chest. Snarling, she used Medical Ninjutsu to set her broken ribs.

"Where are these monsters coming from?! Damn it—Kakashi, where did he go?"

"Here, Hokage-sama!"

Kakashi's head poked from the ground. Once out, he spat blood; the instant Kaguya and Hancock clashed he'd fled underground, yet the tremors still left him gravely injured.

To Kakashi, escaping at all was luck born of long experience and sharp instincts. He glanced aside: Kitsuchi knelt in grief beside the lifeless half-body of Ōnoki—the old man had been too slow, caught by the edge of the blast.

As for Deidara, he lay barely breathing—the weakest present. If Kitsuchi hadn't dragged him underground, he'd already be dead.
