Chapter 140 - Chapter 140: Death

[Chapter 140: Death]

This was a farm.

A very large farm.

Electric fences surrounded the property. Fully armed hidden sentries patrolled the perimeter.

Although it was called a farm, the buildings inside were constructed with lavish grandeur. Perhaps it would be more accurate to call this a manor.

"Everyone, let's begin. Kill the person in front of you, and you will truly join us and become one of us."

"You will gain the opportunity to transfer your Soul into a young Physical Body."

"You will live in this world forever and become a true immortal."

"You will witness all the changes in this world, experiencing its rise and fall."

"You will have time far beyond others to create greater achievements."

"You will be written into history, or even make history."

"You..."

A voice echoed continuously over loudspeakers into every room.

Inside those rooms, one person held a sharp knife. In front of them, someone was bound on the ground. Men and women, old and young, all locked in this grim ritual.

At this moment, all of them stared with eyes filled either with anger or pleading at the person approaching them with the blade in hand.

"No! Don't! Dad! Don't! Wake up, don't kill me."

"Jack, wake up! Are you really going to kill me with your own hands?"

"Tom, what are you doing? Are you really going to kill your own mother?"

...Faced with these desperate pleas, some hesitated in their eyes. But as the voice from the loudspeakers kept spreading its sinister temptation, their gazes gradually hardened again.

"No..."

"Don't..."

"Ah..."

Screams echoed from room to room. Human tragedies unfolding one after another.

...

Meanwhile, in another large room--

People dressed in suits and leather shoes, or elegant evening gowns, were gathered here. Every face was concealed behind a mask.

These masks were finely crafted, some even adorned with rare bird feathers. This was a special cocktail party. Attendees carefully kept their identities hidden.

Except for the young boys and girls standing in the middle of the dance floor. They wore no masks, exposed to all. Each bore delicate features and well-formed physiques.

Yet at this moment, they could only obey. Occasionally, masked guests would pull them from the dance floor, drag them out, and tear their clothes off.

This party appeared sophisticated but was soaked in corruption.

...

In another room, a mysterious ritual was underway.

The room's walls were made of special glass -- one could see inside from the outside, but those inside couldn't see out.

Dozens gathered outside, observing the ritual.

Covenant of twin souls, bound through Aether.

Shadow of the Moon, fire of the Sun — bind this mortal body.

By the sign of the Twins, by the path beneath.

Let the soul be transferred; let the bodies be exchanged.

So ordered. So sealed.

This was a Soul Exchange Ritual. Daniel had performed one earlier that day. However, this ritual was clearly far inferior--

From the drawing of the runes to the arrangement of the formation, there was a significant gap. No wonder their Soul Transfer always had a high failure rate.

...

"Den of filth!"

"Forcing mothers into prostitution!"

"Severing human bonds!"

"Extinguishing humanity!"

"Deserve death!"

Suddenly, a voice like a great bell and chime rang over the farm.

It carried boundless killing intent, powerful enough to scatter and tear the clouds from the sky.

The patrol guards were the first to react. They looked up and saw a figure floating in the air, slowly descending.

"Fuck! Am I seeing things?"

"No, that's an enemy attack! Open fire!"

The armed patrols quickly aimed and pulled their triggers. But the figure simply flashed and vanished.

"Aiding the wicked and committing atrocities, you also deserve death!"

"Earth Spears!"

Puff, puff, puff... Powerful Earth Spears surged up, piercing through the guards.

Instantly, flesh and blood exploded, severed limbs flying everywhere.

"Ah..."

Those lucky enough not to die immediately were severely wounded but still alive, clutching their breaths and letting out mournful screams.

But the second wave of Earth Spears cut the cries short.

The remaining bodies were blasted into bloody pulp.

"Who is it?"

The sound of gunfire drew many inside the buildings to step outside and check. More people spotted Daniel.

Daniel ignored them, stepping forward once.

Puff! Puff! Puff... Those who confronted him were instantly shredded.

"Ah! Run!"

The survivors turned and fled, wishing their legs could carry them faster.

"Earth Spikes!"

Daniel moved again. Earth Spikes surged from his hand.

People kept appearing -- and dying -- blasted into pieces.

Finally, a stronger armed force gathered and charged toward Daniel.

But Daniel rushed forward like lightning -- no, lightning literally crackled around him as he advanced.

Boom, boom, boom... Explosions ripped through the attackers.

Their bodies were torn apart, falling either charred to coal or blasted into fragments.

"Ah!"

One man, severed below the waist but still alive above, screamed desperately before an Earth Spear rose, slicing through his neck. His head was severed, and his suffering ended instantly.

"Those who sever human bonds deserve death!"

Daniel stormed into the rooms where people had killed their own kin. Under his onslaught, none survived.

"Those who force innocents into prostitution deserve death!"

Daniel charged into the cocktail party.

The suited men and elegant women showed no fear when he entered, lost in their revelry. Some were clearly intoxicated. Some even tried to pull Daniel toward them.

"Die!"

Daniel's eyes turned ice cold. He stepped forward, unleashing Earth spikes once again.

Severed limbs flew through the air, finally snapping the partygoers out of their stupor.

"Ah!"

Amid frantic screams, they scrambled to escape.

"Earth Spears!"

Puff, puff, puff... Flesh splattered, heads rolled. Corpses dropped one by one.

Daniel slaughtered relentlessly. He had lost count of how many he'd killed, but spared not a single masked soul.

Soon, blood flowed through the lavish party venue.

"He's right inside! Quick, don't let him escape!"

A voice filled with rage carried from outside.

Immediately, the ground trembled and shook uncontrollably.
