"This is my daughter," the manager announced proudly. "Veronica. She's here to… observe the store for a bit."
Nyx tilted her head, already sensing the brewing chaos. "Observe… or take over?" she whispered to Vario, who was nervously fidgeting with a snack.
Bella, apron still tightly fastened, stepped forward. "Welcome back, sir. And hello, Veronica. What brings you here?"
The manager chuckled. "I thought I'd see how things are running since I retired. And Veronica is curious—she wants to learn the ropes before taking over her own responsibilities someday."
Veronica's eyes swept the store like a hawk, landing briefly on each staff member. When she looked at Vario, her eyebrows rose slightly. "You're the infamous Vario?" she asked, her tone calm but pointed.
Vario gulped. "Uh… that's me," he muttered.
Nyx snickered behind a shelf. "Oh, she's going to love documenting this place," she whispered.
Bella, meanwhile, tried to maintain composure, though she could feel the tension rising. "Well, the store runs smoothly," she said firmly, "except for the… occasional… chaos."
The manager laughed. "I can see that. That's why Veronica is here—to witness it firsthand."
Veronica stepped closer, her eyes bright with curiosity, though a hint of amusement danced on her lips as she observed Vario accidentally knock over a stack of chips while trying to greet her. "I think I'll fit right in," she said lightly.
