I didn't even hear the door click shut behind Grek when he left for whatever "business" bullshit he had going on this time. One second he was grabbing his keys and muttering something about needing to sort out a loose end, the next second the apartment felt too big and too quiet and my chest started doing that stupid squeeze thing it always does when I'm alone too long. I told myself I was fine. I always tell myself I'm fine. But my hands wouldn't stop shaking and the next thing I knew I was in the bathroom again, staring at that cracked mirror like it owed me.
