Thadeus stood on a rooftop, gazing down at the city below. He was on a stakeout, wearing his superhero costume inspired by the Sun King's design. He took out a pen and started writing on a notebook.
'It's been over 10 years since the Lumberjack was defeated, and crime has risen to unprecedented heights. I'm starting to wonder if me and Aries made the right choice by defeating him... but he was going to kill us, so it's not like we had much of a choice. Now I'm stuck cleaning up our mess, and I don't know where Aries is. We didn't quite part ways on good terms...'
Thadeus's thoughts were interrupted by a sudden flashback of apologizing to Aries on a dark rainy night. Aries turned his back on him and said, 'You're dead to me!' before vanishing.
Thadeus looked down, saddened, and whispered to himself, 'I'm sorry, Aries...' He put down his pen and closed his notebook.
At 24 years old, Thadeus was determined to find Aries and try to make amends. But for now, he had to focus on fixing the city's problems.
While he was lost in his thoughts, a bank's doors exploded, and two bank robbers ; the Big Bad Wolf and the Little Pig, ran out holding bags of money. When they jumped inside their getaway car, the Little Pig shouted, 'Hit it!' and the Wolf put his sunglasses on and responded, 'Already on it,' before hitting the clutch and driving away.
Thadeus watched as the police gave chase. He took out his headphones, inserted them into his phone, and shuffled through his playlist trying to pick a song. When he found his favorite song he clicked it and danced to the rhythm of the beat.
He jumped off the roof closing his eyes, letting the fresh air rush past him. When he opened his eyes, phoenix wings sprung out of his back propelling him high up into the sky , giving him a better view of the getaway car. In a blinding flash of speed, he caught up to them and landed on the car's roof.
'Pull over, and no one needs to get hurt,' he said.
'Fat chance, Supe!' the Big Bad Wolf snarled. He huffed and puffed, blowing the roof away and Thadeus with it.
Thadeus crashed through a building. When the police saw this they laughed and shook their heads. 'Freaking amateurs!' they said to each other and pulled out their guns, opening fire on the bank robbers.
The Little Pig and the Big Bad Wolf ducked, while the Wolf tried desperately to steer the wheel. 'Wait a minute... This is a clear violation of our human rights!' the Little Pig protested, throwing up his fist in defiance.
'What are you on about? We're not even human,' the Wolf stated, buffled by his statement.
'Everybody has the right to life, including criminals. And right now, they're opening fire on us for taking property when we're not carrying any weapons.'
'Ugh! We do have superpowers, though.'
'Doesn't matter. Their actions are unreasonable and unlawful, I tell ya!'
'We'll worry about that in court,' the Big Bad Wolf replied, driving into an alleyway and entering a safe house to lay low.
Thadeus punched his fist through the rubble, pushed the car's roof off himself, and wiped the dust off his clothes. 'Whoa! That was one heck of a ride.'
He looked up using his hand to shade his braw, and saw a helicopter searching around. Police sirens wailed non-stop. 'I'm guessing they lost them.'
He flapped his phoenix wings, folded them, closed his eyes, and released heat waves all over the city, picking up the bank robbers' location.
Meanwhile, the Little Pig and Big Bad Wolf were counting their money while smoking cigarettes and popping champagne. Thadeus burst through the wall, ruining their celebration.
'Bloody Supe!' the Big Bad Wolf muttered, rising from his chair. 'Hold this,' he gave the champagne to the Little Pig.
As he walked toward Thadeus, his size grew at unprecedented rates, and his eyes shifted from yellow to bright red. He huffed and huffed, holding the air hostage in his lungs ,getting ready to release...
The Little Pig knew what this meant and hid under the table. Thadeus smirked, shifting his stance. 'Say night night,' he uttered and delivered a ground shattering punch to the Wolf's gut, sending him crashing down unconscious. The Wolf's humongous size began to shrink.
With the Big Bad Wolf down, Thadeus walked over to the Little Pig. 'Will you be a problem, too?'
The Little Pig shook his head and surrendered. Thadeus called the police to pick them up and vanished into the night sky.
The next morning, Thadeus sat on a bench in the park, wearing a white jacket, blue pants, and brown boots. His hair was silky smooth. He was waiting for a girl, and he wanted to make a good first impression.
Someone crept up behind him and covered his eyes. 'Guess who it is,' a woman's voice whispered.
'I know it's you, Alexa,' Thadeus said with a smile.
Alexa removed her hands, and Thadeus hugged her. Their faces were inches apart when they looked lovingly into each other's eyes.
'I missed you,' he said.
'I missed you too,' she replied, her cheerful smile practically radiating off her
They shared a passionate kiss.
'So, how's work?' Thadeus asked as they walked hand in hand.
'Honestly, it's meh,' she responded.
Thadeus chuckled. 'Sounds like you have it rougher than me.'
'Well, in any case, hanging up the cape was the best decision I ever made. And you know why.'
Thadeus looked down, saddened. 'Yeah, I know...'
'But let's look on the bright side. At least now you're- - -'
'A superhero!' Thadeus said, striking a pose.
Alexa stood behind him, crossing her arms, striking a pose as well. They burst into laughter after striking their poses and vanished into the distance.
For their first adventure, they went to the mall, and Alexa started piling plastic bags on Thadeus's arms. They stacked up until they were a mountain. The only time he cried was when she paid for everything with his credit card. Thadeus never cried so hard in his life.
They ended the evening by buying ice cream. With each lick, they playfully bantered.
Alexa drew a mustache on her face and pretended to be a king. 'We must go to Mordor and destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom!'
Thadeus knelt. 'But, my king, we will die!'
Alexa looked at the sky trying to aura farm. 'If we die, then we die.'
Everyone looked at them like they are lunatics, but they didn't mind, embracing the joys and innocence of childhood. They kept goofing around until the sun cast a golden glow over the horizon, drawing the day to a close.
During the night sky, they went back to the park in comfortable silence, unsure of what to say to each other or how to say it. Saying goodbyes was such sweet sorrow not many people understood.
Alexa broke the silence. 'I really enjoyed hanging out with you today.'
'I enjoyed it too,' Thadeus said.
'Same time next month?'
Thadeus nodded and slid his hand into his pocket, pulling out a ring. He knelt down on one knee to propose.
'Alexa, will you marr—'
He paused, noticing her attention was fixated elsewhere.
'Huh?!' His head snapped toward the direction she was looking, and he saw Aries,he looked battered and bruised.
' Help me...' Aries whispered before passing out.
