"I have something to say to you."
Startled by the girl's voice, Yohan turned around in surprise and asked, "What's wrong? "
Yohan turned around to find a beautiful girl standing before him. Looking him straight in the eyes, she said, "Thank you... for saving me last night."
Yohan gave the girl a long, searching look. "What do you mean?"
The girl gripped her left wrist with her right hand, biting her lip as she glanced out of the nearby window. After a moment, she straightened up, regained her composure, and looked back at Yohan.
"Actually," she began, "I went out for a walk last night. I just wanted some time to myself. No one usually goes to that park, so I figured I'd be alone. But then, those guys started harassing me. Suddenly, you showed up and sat on the bench, looking our way. They went over to kick you out, and I was just about to call my brother when I saw it... you took them all down within a minute and just walked away. Honestly, I don't know what would have happened to me last night if you hadn't been there."
Yohan noticed something peculiar. Before she started speaking, her gestures made her seem incredibly nervous. But the moment she actually began to talk, that nervousness vanished completely. Moreover, if she were just an ordinary girl, she wouldn't have dared to grab a stranger's clothes from behind to stop him. Something wasn't adding up.
Suppreasing the swarm of questions in his mind, Yohan calmly asked for her name. Maintaining unwavering eye contact, the girl replied, "Kairin Olivera."
Hearing the name, Yohan simply replied, "You're most welcome, Kairin Olivera."
He turned back and resumed his path. But suddenly, Kairin's voice called out from behind once more, "You didn't tell me your name."
Without even glancing back, he answered briefly, "Yohan Davis."
Kairin let out a faint, amused smile at Yohan's reckless indifference. She quickly shot back, "Walking away with all that attitude... but tell me, do you even know where your classroom is?"
Yohan came to a halt upon hearing her words, a subtle, intriguing smile playing on his lips. He realized that she already knew he hadn't managed to find his classroom yet. Maintaining that calm smile, he replied simply, "No."
Kairin walked up to Yohan, her steps light and confident. Reaching him, she gave his shoulder a playful tap and said, "Follow me. I'll show you the way. Just let me know which class you are in."
Walking alongside her, Yohan remarked in a low voice, " Class 2-2."
As she led Yohan through the hallway, Kairin glanced at him and remarked, "But do you have any idea? This school is under the thumb of a notorious delinquent gang."
Suddenly, Yohan's eyes widened in surprise. "What do you mean?" he asked.
Kairin covered her mouth with her hand, letting out a soft giggle at his reaction. "Why?" she asked playfully, "Are you starting to feel scared?"
Yohan remained silent for a long moment. Then, suddenly, he burst into laughter—even more intensely than Kairin had. Taken aback by his sudden outburst, Kairin stared at him in confusion and asked, "What... what's wrong?"
Stopping his laughter, Yohan shot a sideways glance at Kairin. Then, looking straight ahead with a cool, arrogant flair, he remarked, "So... this place isn't going to be as boring as I thought."
Kairin stopped dead in her tracks, staring at him in sheer disbelief. "What... what exactly are you trying to say?" she stammered.
Yohan slid his hands into his pockets. A bright, predatory grin spread across his face as he ran his tongue lightly over his upper teeth. Looking her straight in the eye, he whispered, "I love to play with bad guys."
As bright as Yohan's face had become, Kairin's expression grew just as dark. Noticing the shift, Yohan leaned in slightly and smirked, "Why? Are you starting to feel scared now?"
Kairin's voice trembled slightly with an edge of fear. "You are strong, indeed," she admitted. "But those you're about to face here... they aren't ordinary humans. You effortlessly took down those guys last night, but you have no idea what kind of monsters are waiting for you inside."
A razor-sharp smile tugged at the corner of Yohan's lips. "Then," he whispered, his voice cold as steel, "I'm just gonna hunt them all."
Kairin stared into his eyes for a long time, lost for words. Finally, she managed to speak, "I don't know... but if you want to survive here, you'll have to keep your head down. Because if you try to flaunt your strength, you won't even realize when you've been completely wiped out."
Yohan didn't pay the slightest attention to her warning. He simply replied in a calm, steady voice, "By saying all this, you're only fueling my interest. Now, please... just show me to my class."
"Wait!" Kairin cried out, blocking Yohan's path.
Yohan stopped, clearly enjoying her desperation. A faint, amused smile played on his lips as he looked down at her. This time, Kairin's expression turned deadly serious.
"Out of all the people you should fear the most," she said, her voice dropping, "two of them are in your very class."
A strange glint appeared in Yohan's eyes this time. Driven by curiosity, he asked, "What are their names?"
Kairin realized then and there that this guy was insane. No matter how much she tried, she wouldn't be able to get through to him. Eventually, she gave up. A look of deep disappointment clouded her face. In a low, hushed voice, she murmured, "One of them is the 1st Crew's Enforcer, Yino Wheeler. And the other... is none other than the Boss of the entire gang."
With that, she turned around and walked away.
Yohan didn't say another word. With a light grin playing on his lips, he continued walking alongside Kairin. It was as if all his worries had vanished in an instant. Everything he had been looking for was finally falling right into his hands.
Kairin led him to Room 217, where Yohan's class was supposed to be. She opened the door first. Inside, the classroom was divided into three rows of benches. Boys were scattered all over the room—some were playing cards, some were arm-wrestling, while others were huddled together at the back benches, deep in conversation.
But the one who stood out the most was a boy sitting by the window. There were three windows in the classroom. Seated at the bench in front of the middle window, he had both his arms stretched out across the high benches on either side. Smoking a cigarette, he stared directly at them as they entered.
Kairin felt a chill run down her spine and glanced at Yohan. Her heart sank—he was already locked in a lethal stare-down with the boy. The air in the room grew heavy, the intensity of their eye contact sharpening with every passing second until it felt like a blade against the skin.
Panicked, Kairin dug her nails into Yohan's arm, her voice a desperate, trembling whisper, "Hey! Are you even listening? I told you not to start anything! That... that's the First Crew's Enforcer, Yino 'Yin-half' Wheeler!"
Yohan didn't flinch. He didn't even blink. Instead, the grin on his face widened just a fraction. At the same moment, Yino slowly flicked the ash from his cigarette, his eyes turning cold as a grave as he began to stand up. The entire classroom went deathly silent.
