I was sitting alone in my room.
The same question kept spinning in my mind over and over again.
Why did he act that way toward me?
What was he really trying to see?
His strange behavior had left me deeply puzzled. The more I thought about it, the more tangled everything seemed.
I sat on the bed, staring out the window, lost in thought. Suddenly, a voice floated in from outside.
— "Ayal, are you in your room?"
Startled, I looked toward the door and replied—
— "Yes… I'm here."
After a pause, I added—
— "You can come in."
Silence fell outside the door, as if the person hesitated before stepping inside.
A moment later, the door slowly opened.
I stayed still, staring at the doorway.
Aira stepped inside. Her expression was serious, as if she wanted to say something but didn't know how.
She took a few steps closer and looked at me.
— "You're sitting here alone?"
I forced a small smile and replied—
— "Yeah… just thinking."
